About Amanda Faulkner

My name is Amanda and I have lived in Rowayton and Darien, CT most of my life, having raised three grown children here. I am an interior/kitchen designer, who loves designing, renovating and rebuilding homes. I particularly love giving new life to historic homes. I own one in Ludlow, VT as well, which I have rented on Home Away and VRBO for several years. I love to decorate and style homes for myself and my clients, and I believe homes are fashion. They must also be comfortable, charming and embrace you the moment you set foot in the door. There has not been a person who has not loved the beauty of my homes… You can feel my love and flair for sophisticated design the moment you step into this home. I love searching for design inspiration and home accessories. I owned a retail store for 10 years that was like Anthropologie before there it existed. I am also a realtor, yoga instructor and aspiring screenwriter…

Why Amanda Faulkner chose Connecticut

It is historic, built in 1872, originally a Victorian, right in the heart of the Rowayton village, the lifestyle of walk to village, beach, parks, was particularly appealing. I also loved the potential of this home, transforming the tired Victorian into a fantastic farmhouse, Nantucket style house. Rowayton is a fantastic seaside village, that features a wonderful lifestyle, beautiful water views and amazingly beautiful homes. The feeling of this town is hard to depict in words… It's like Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard, but an hour from Manhattan. Everyone who comes to Rowayton just marvels at the charm of this village!

What makes this house unique

Beach, boats, bikes, walks, kayaks, paddle boards, Long Island Sound, ice cream, water views, free concerts, Farmer's Market… It's all about the lifestyle !

Beautiful house in Idyllic Rowayton

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for a family gathering for Memorial Day weekend. The house itself has been flawlessly and completely renovated from head to toe and was perfect in every respect, including being within easy walking distance to all the sights and restaurants in town! Rowayton is a quaint New England waterfront village without the hoards of tourists. There are wonderful restaurants, beaches, and other towns nearby. Our homeowner was most helpful with suggestions for restaurants and things to do. Would definitely recommend to others.
