Beautifully furnished, roomy and comfortable, newly remodeled with new carpet, paint, ceiling fans and light fixture upgrades. Two story, three bedroom, two bathroom condo with amazing lakeviews, Slate fireplace, cable and flat screen TV, DVD players in every bedroom and family room, Blue ray in living room, CD player, WiFi ,cable , washer and dryer, and full kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, crock pot, dishes, pots/pans and more. Deck with a charcoal barbecue and patio table /chairs. Overlooks the lakeside pool and hot tub.

Upstairs Master bedroom has a king bed, cable TV,DVD player and a full bath and rocking chair with beautiful view of lake.

Upstairs, Bedroom # two has pyramid style bunk beds (double on bottom/twin on top) and cable TV/DVD player.

Downstairs Bedroom # three has a queen bed, cable TV and built in DVD player, and a connecting bath.

Easy walk to the lake. Peanuts Retreat is in the Bayshore Ski and Racquet Club located on the lake and has two seasonal swimming pools, two spas, tennis courts, and boat dock (day use only). Maximum occupancy 7. Parking for 2 vehicles. No boat trailer parking in parking lot.

About Tom & Trish

My wife and I bought our condo in 2011 to have a place just to get away from the daily grind. As empty nesters, we love to have a place that brings our whole family together. It's been a great place for our kids and grandkids to ski, snowboard in winter and do boating, fishing and hiking in the summer. We've grown up in Southern California and although we've frequently skied in Big Bear during winter months, we never realized how beautiful it is year round until we bought our place here.

Why Tom & Trish chose Big Bear

We looked around at other places in Big Bear but found that other condos did not compare with the amenities and park-like setting that Bay shore Ski and Racquet club possess. We wanted our particular condo because the back patio faces the lake and the pool/spa. We are also just around the corner to the marina, where anyone can rent boats, paddle boats, kayaks, etc. We also have our own private day dock use for the facility.

What makes this condo unique

The view of the lake from the master bedroom is captivating . Waking up in the morning with brisk air, the smell of pine feels like you're in a tree house and when you look out the window there is beautiful Metcalf Bay. We decorated and furnished our place to feel like our home. We try to give everyone the feeling that it is their home, too. We have fishing poles, tackle box, tennis racquets, lawn chairs and ice chest and snow sleds for our guest to use.

Its a retreat!!

Peanut's retreat is definitely a retreat for single family or friends. It is in perfect location near the village right near the boat docks. The cottage is in quiet complex where one can take nice stroll enjoy hot tub steps from the cottage. We had a blast staying in this cottage family of 7. It has everything tv in all rooms, good wifi, full kitchen and cable channels. Bathroom and bedroom upstairs and downstairs. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to all family and friends. 5 star for cottage decor and cleanliness. I saw the owner upgraded the kitchen and it looks very nice. Oh did I mention live fireplace, so many memories to make. Very friendly owner.

Perfect, beautiful home!

Peanut's retreat was a perfect choice for my little family. Full equipped with kitchen appliances, tableware, pots and pans. Its a beautiful home! I felt comfortable with my toddler playing out in the front. It's very private to those who rent or live in the complex. The lake was covered in so much snow, it was beautiful to have that right out back. Slopes, grocery stores, a local shops all 5-10 mins away. Location was great! Defintiely will be planning to stay here again.

We went for my birthday, and it was the best birthday ever. Trish condo was clean and very comfortable. It was fully stocked with towels, extra blankets and all of the essentials and some.

We will definitely be using it again and highly recommend it for your next big bear stay..

Great for family fun

Great for little kids. Snow ball and snowman area out back. Little sled hill around the corner. Close to shops. Nice furnishings. Clean. If you wAnt to ski, don't go during Christmas break. Takes too long with traffic. Expensive, but you get what you pay for😀

Dirty!never recommend!

Paid 3 nights, stayed only 2 nights, could not stay there any more, dirty, uncomfortable condo ruined our Christmas. The pictures won't tell u truth, worst experience ever. After unhappy conversations, the owner said she will write us a review for other owner's reference how difficult to deal with us, I would said, please just do it, but nothing can stop me to tell my feelings.

Owner's Response: This guest who booked our place and who reviewed our place , did not even go to our condo. She had her "friends " take her place. The people who stayed there contacted the check in manager 8 times on their 1 st day to ask about how to open flue on fireplace, how to use remote for Tvs (which instructions are all over the condo) Not once was there mention of any dissatisfaction of condo cleanliness, Nor was any call or concerns made to me until their last day. After these guest were there skiing on their 3rd day , I received 1st call from the original booking guest who said her friends wanted to leave a day early. " they didn't feel"comfortable ". She offered no specific details as to their dissatisfaction, her only complaint was they couldn't figure how to use the auto correcting TV remotes and they found a hair on the carpet. I offered them a partial refund for that night for their inconveniences IF they would do as all guest are instructed , wash dishes in dishwasher and take out trash and if everything was found in order, I would give partial refund. They agreed. After my housekeeper saw property and reported dishes were crammed in dishwasher and remaining dishes left in sink ALL left unwashed. Grease all over stove, sunflower seeds spit all over tables and carpet. Tin foil in the fireplace as if they had been trying to cook in the fireplace ( all of these are clearly breaches of rental agreement ). I let the booking guest know how her friends left our place and questioned how can they complain about cleanliness when they left it so dirty that it took a day and a half for my housekeeper to clean it. This is a clear case of renters scamming to extort money after spending their the 3 days and wanting money back. If anyone will please look at all my reviews before this day and after, I believe our reputation and history refutes this one bad review from someone who wasn't even at my place. We have always tried to maintain the highest level of cleanliness and customer satisfaction and I always will make every effort to remedy any issues that arise. However, these renters are why most homeowners require damage deposits. I have reviewed them for other homeowners to be forewarned of their antics. Very unfortunate situation. We usually have wonderful people who return year after year.

We require a 2 week notice for cancellations to receive refund. However, there will be a 5 % transaction fee from Homeaway for returned payments.Rental Rules;
1. Smoking is NOT allowed
2. People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.
3. All of the units are privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
4. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order
5. Only use appliances for their intended uses.
6. Pets are NOT allowed.
7. – Parking is limited to 2 vehicles . Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
8. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, we suggest you bring beach towels.
9. Hot Tub , Please follow rules posted. Use at your own risk .
10. Fireplace: The fireplace is gas/wood burning . Please do not throw any paper or other combustible materials in the fireplace . Absolutely NO fires permitted outside the unit. BBQ must be kept on back patio.
11. Septic: DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to __250.00__.
12. Storms: If there is a storm no refunds will be given unless: The state or local authorities order mandatory evacuation FOR UNUSED DAYS OF RENT.
