Lovely Private Family Home only minutes to Natural Bridge

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,800 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

This is not your average cabin rental! Formerly a small cabin, this home has gained a beautiful addition and is completely remodeled. Relax in a 1,800 sf home that sits on 175+ private acres with a pond, trails and a kids tree house. The home has a master bedroom with a queen bed, a kids bunk room that sleeps 4, a loft with a twin bed and a full bath upstairs.

Downstairs has a large family room with a vaulted ceiling, a beautiful sun room with a queen futon, and a full bath with a view to die for. There is a large kitchen that is very well appointed.

This home is not located in a cabin rental area, but at the end of a private road. We have only been renting the property for shot time and it has been outfitted for our family not as a rental- so very comfy beds and linens, a kitchen with all the amenities of home and a full size washer/dryer. This retreat in the woods easily sleeps 8-10 people: 2 in master bedroom, 4 in bunk room, 2 in loft, and 2 in sun room. The front porch has rocking chairs and glider, and the side patio has a picnic table and Adirondack chairs. Additionally, there is a fire pit for roasting hotdogs or marshmallows in the evening with the kiddos.

Most trails and climbing areas are less than 20 minutes away.

Felt like home

  • 4 of 5

My family of 10 stayed here for 4 nights. We had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. It did not have a grill so we bought a small cheap one from the dollar store. We also enjoyed a nice fire and made s'mores. There is a TV in the living room with 4 local channels but we did not watch it. We spend a lot of time outside under the shade of the porch. There is a beautiful shade garden there. The house was perfectly imperfect. It was not cookie cutter. It had the personality of a lived in loved retreat. My only drawback was that the a/c was not strong enough to comfortably cool the upstairs but we were lucky to have cooler days and opened the windows. Also. If you plan to rent this home make sure you obtain the directions from the owner because GPS of the address will take you to a cemetery.

Great 3 night stay

  • 5 of 5

My boys loved this place. We did a 3 to 4 hour hike in the gorge (only 5 miles to trail head). Otherwise, exploring the property, target practice with a .22, and fires and camping in the yard. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable cabin for family of 6.

Lovely Visit

  • 5 of 5

We spent three nights here and enjoyed our time in the cabin. It's quiet and has great ambiance. Knowing there are few places to go out to eat in the area, we came we with groceries and easily found everything needed to prepare meals. (The only two exceptions to this were no cork screw and a single-serving coffee machine.) The master bedroom has a very comfortable bed and the day bed downstairs is also comfortable albeit short. The four bunk beds are sized for smaller children. (The three teens with us chose to sleep in them anyway). Finding the cabin was not easy because GPS does not take you to the right house, so make sure you check your email for the attachments with directions and check-out instructions (these attachments do not show up in the Home Away app). Overall, the cabin was clean, quaint and very pleasant. We had a great time hiking some of the many trails in the area. If you are not familiar with the area, know ahead of time there is not much to do here besides enjoy Mother Nature. Be sure and bring games and books for a rainy day, as well as groceries. In addition to my husband and I really enjoying our stay, my teen son and his two friends also loved the cabin and the hiking!

Great house, super well situated for climbing!

  • 5 of 5

Spent a week here with 7 adults and 2 kids under 2. We had a great time! Beautiful yard and decks, comfy common areas. Easy access to lots of great crags. Nice bathrooms and a well stocked kitchen. The only heads up I would give is that just one sleeping area has a door. It wasn't an issue for us, but could be for groups who need a bit more privacy.

Would go again

  • 5 of 5

Loved how close we were to the trails. 10-20 minutes away from everything. We rocked climbed at Torrent Falls several times, and like how close the home was to the activities. Charmagne, the owner, was very responsive when we had questions. Kids Zip Line was used a lot, the Fire pit with lumber ready to burn made for a nightly ritual, the Toads & Turtles & deer made it fun to explore. The guide books at the home made for great resources on our adventures. Driveway is essentially a long way back to the middle of peacefulness. Kitchen was renovated and the pots/pans were fantastic for a rental home. Enjoyed the loft room bed, the kids bunk beds. Had a smell of Laura Ingalls in the kitchen, some of the rooms were still a work in process, which is why the owners cant rent it for $350/night. Affordable, comfortable, woodsy feel. Just what our family of 10 wanted.
