Clean beautiful water for swimming is one of the best things about our location.. Homes nearby are all upscale with septic systems. Be careful selecting a location on Roatan because many areas do not have clean sea water.
Escape to Castaways Cove, our quiet, tranquil retreat on Roatan’s south shore. This nautical themed waterfront boathouse is ideal for a romantic getaway or as an oasis for water sports and getting in touch with nature.
Located on picturesque Caribe Point, this eco-friendly oceanfront house is fully furnished and has a completely equipped kitchen. The house accommodates two people very comfortably in a queen bed with a roll-away for an additional guest. You can swim, fish and snorkel from your own private dock.
We can help you arrange personalized dive services, boat excursions or a catamaran snorkeling trip. We'll have a dive master/instructor pick you up at your own dock and most likely you will be the only ones on his boat. He can provide all equipment and we guarantee you'll love his low rates! You don't dive? Try an exciting discovery dive - no certification needed!
Enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, reef and neighboring hills from a covered terrace. A shallow reef in front of the house provides incredible snorkeling. Our guests tell us the island's best snorkel is right at the entrance to our bight, where you can snorkel day after day and always see different marine life. We can arrange a local fishing guide or 'water taxi' to pick you up so you can explore the island in style. We have good road access and taxi or van service can be arranged.
Sit-On-Top Kayaks, that normally rent for $50+ a day each on the island are included free with this rental. You can kayak to awesome snorkeling spots and explore the nearby mangrove tunnels built by the Payan Indians and used by pirates. Kayak to nearby McNabbs Restaurant, Tricos (Jonesville Point Marina), Media Luna resort or Hole in the Wall.
Castaways Cove is away from the noisy main tourist area and cruiseships, yet only 20 minutes from French Harbour restaurants and shopping. We're just 3 miles from Turquoise Bay and west of Jonesville and Oakridge.
Our property and surrounding woods has lush tropical flora. There are paths for hiking, exploring and jogging; and a dock for swimming, snorkeling, fishing and boating.
Castaways Cove is an ideal place to relax and revive, while getting in touch with nature. For a hassle free vacation, contact us today. We live up the hill on the property and can assist you with any issues during your stay. However, we value your privacy, but we're also here to help when needed.

Fifteen years ago my husband Dennis and I longed for some adventure in our lives. So, we ditched our corporate jobs, sold our Florida home and jammed our 'stuff' into a rented storage garage. We took off from St. Petersburg, Florida for our Roatan property. It was total woods when we arrived - we didn't even have electric or water. Since then, we built a house on the Caribbean Sea overlooking the world's second largest reef. We had been diving all over the Caribbean and could have moved anywhere in the world. However, we selected Roatan and specifically our area for its unmatched beauty. Here you will have the beauty of a tropical island and peacefulness of a private retreat. We're waiting for you!
Caribe Pointe Bight is the most beautiful place in Roatan. Its location is off the beaten path and away from the tourists and cruise ships. The lush tropical natural surroundings are highlighted by palms, towering oaks, crystal clear Caribbean water, mountains and the world's second largest barrier reef.
Diving, snorkeling, kayaking and fishing are right here at your fingertips. The location is quiet and relaxing where you can do as much as you like, or as little as you want.
This was out first trip to Roatan. Turned out, we couldn't of had a better location on the island. Dennis and Marcia were super host, they had every thing ready for us, even the too do's and must see things each day. The location being in a bay off the Ocean made for nice time on the water right out front, and the nice ocean breeze was a plus. The pool made for relaxing really easy. This was our first attempt at vrbo, and we were very pleased. My only regret, not booking 3 weeks there.
Dennis and Marcia have a beautiful home with a gorgeous view. They were very helpful whenever we had questions and provided a very accommodating home. It was well stocked and very comfortable. The master bedroom had air conditioning but the 2nd bedroom wasn't working. The beds only had sheets on them with no blankets. I found this odd. But otherwise just gorgeous views and very quiet. This house is away from all the hub bub (as Marcia calls the "touristy" areas). She allows the use of the kayaks to go out to premier spots to snorkel. We snorkeled a few areas and they were amazing. We mostly scuba dived and they referred us to a wonderful dive company Reef House, who picked us up right on their dock! They also have a restaurant that will also pick you up from their dock that is super close which takes you through the famous Mangroves. It's called Hole In The Wall and it has wonderful food. They live off the beaten path and I would advise renting a car so you can explore the island on your own. We rented a car because my husband wouldn't listen to me or Marcia, which was fine. The roads are very bumpy and washed out, just take it slow. If you are not used to this kind of road renting a small suv that sits a little higher would work. We did fine with a car and we drove all over the whole island.
People are wonderful on the island and never once did we feel unsafe. I would sit outside on the deck and drink coffee and just look at the beautiful views. My husband and daughter also enjoyed the new pool they just put in. It is very nice. They do have a very long, steep driveway and lots of steps so just be careful with your luggage as they can be slippery. Her sister was there using her phone so she was using the phone she provides for her guests. We were not able to use it and had to ask every time we needed to make a call. This was the perfect place to stay for beauty, quiet, relaxing, eating seafood, diving and snorkeling. I recommend Dennis and Marcias place if you want to get away from it all and to enjoy the beauty of Roatan. Thanks Marcia!
We travelled to Roatan for 19 days for our 20th anniversary and spent the last nine days at Marcia and Dennis' paradise!! My husband had broken his ankle right before we travelled and Marcia and Dennis were very helpful in helping us move our luggage with Dennis' CanAm. They kindly took us into town with them one day and took us to a great cliff side restaurant! They were alwYs happy to share their knowledge and gave Corey the best day ever when Dennis loaned him some spear fishing equipment to hunt for lionfish! This property had such a beautiful view and the snorkeling was lovely. It was great being able to use there kayaks and explore the waterways and the reefs.
One of the best parts of my day were standing in the balcony and feeding the hummingbirds! They would come right up to you fluttering right in front of you!! Occasionally they would even fly into the house to check things out! Lol! It was amazing!
I can't say enough nice things about Castaways Cove or about Marcia and Dennis.
We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it to others.
Ps: buy the fresh red snapper when the boat comes around! Yum!!
Thanks to you both! (Sorry it's taken us this long to review though!) ;)
This is the second time we have stayed at Marcia's, and the house was great! Marcia gave us some frozen mangos, which made delicious drinks after snorkeling. The snorkeling was amazing, except for one day when the jellyfish were out by the thousands.... We saw a Moray eel, huge stingray, turtle, lion fish, and lots of beautiful coral and tropical fish. Since it was high season, it was not as peaceful and secluded as our last stay ( tour boats going by and local kids racing their boats in the bay on the weekend), but still a comfortable house and amazing snorkeling! We had a great, restful vacation. It is great to have kayaks provided so we can snorkel at our leisure, and we were also able to borrow a spear and fishing pole and even fins, since I lost one od mine our first week in Roatan. Thanks for your great hospitality!
We spent 5 nights in this boat house and enjoyed every single day with great food, a lovely and large deck overlooking the gorgeous Caribbean water. The sunsets were spectacular, the snorkeling was delightful and kayaking though the mangrove tunnels was a pure delight. Being able to jump right in the water was amazing!
The owners were very friendly and highly accommodating. As we were there during New Years, they invited us to a private party in Oak Ridge. We obliged their offer and had a very nice boat ride to the party where we watched the most spectacular fire works show. The ride home afforded us some of the most incredible stargazing ever!
The house was nicely furnished and the space was very comfortable. We enjoyed the plethora of books and pamphlets in the rental to which allowed us to learn more about the island and potential places to visit during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and having fresh water provides was a real plus.
Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us. We will definitely return one day as well recommend this beautiful place to any of our friends and family visiting the bay islands in Honduras.

Dennis & Marcia,
Thanks for a wonderful stay! Thanks for the spear to shoot lion fish, advice on where to go and hospitality during our stay! The spectacular reef on Roatan is unlike anything we’ve seen! We can’t wait to bring our kids back to enjoy this slice of heaven.
We explored the East to West End and snorkeled multiple spots with eel spottings, lion fish, lobster, squid, and many schools of fish and beautiful coral. The island food and coctails are wonderful. Thank you!
