About Sophie (myself through e-mail) - Jean Paul on french phone number below

Born in Normandy, France, I grew up in Paris, and moved to Provence at age 20. There, I found the best place I could dream about as a painter who loves the peace of nature, and the colors of Provence.

Sophie (myself through e-mail) - Jean Paul on french phone number below purchased this villa in 2003

Why Sophie (myself through e-mail) - Jean Paul on french phone number below chose France

As I moved to the US in 2001, I had to have a nest where I could go back to my roots once a year. So I built myself a perfect retreat. And here I am, sharing it with you :)

What makes this villa unique

Once upon a time, in 2000, there was this old orchard, on which a few fruit trees had survived. The view from there was stunning, the smell of thyme, rosemary and lavenders was overwhelming, the brightness of the light was amazing... I fell in love right there and decided to buy the old orchard. A year later, I moved in the US and decided to have a house built on the orchard, my hideaway, my artist stash, my nest.

Outstanding house and lovely gardens, with unbelievable views!

  • 5 of 5

What's not to like with this lovely home and grounds? We knew the village of Suzette so realized that it's a tiny bit remote, but that allows the for the views of Mt. Ventoux and the beautiful valley. The house, furnishings, amenities and grounds are first class and you'll want for nothing. The large patio overlooking the pool and the views wasn't filled when we were there, but it's lovely and would be welcome on a hot Provençal day. Suzette is in the middle of very well-known wine regions and is in close proximity to Bedoin, Gigondas and Vacqueras, Beames de Venise and many other lovely towns and markets. This is a not-to-missed home and you owe it to yourself to book it and then enjoy it. We hope to return.

I could get used to this...

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect house for a couple or small family looking for a peaceful, quiet location in the heart of wine country. Very quiet and private with sensational views of vineyards and Mont Ventoux. Close to many delightful tasting “caves” and daily markets in the nearby villages. House is very well maintained, gardens are delightful (including fresh figs!), and the pool is delightful.

We Keep Coming Back!

  • 5 of 5

OK, how is this for a recommendation: My wife and I have stayed here five years in a row and I don’t see that changing anytime soon! Wonderful house, terrace and pool with a stunning view of vineyards, valleys and Mont Ventoux. Very peaceful and private, excellent jumping off point for cycling, hiking and nearby village markets. Or you can just relax on the terrace or in the pool and enjoy the peaceful location. House is very well equipped and incredibly clean. Caretaker, Jean Paul, is delightful and very helpful. We are very grateful to Sophie sharing her house with us.

We just loved it

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful place. Plenty of space sto put your chair or loungebed in the sun or shade and relax. Or to cycle and go places and to return to have a swim. A beautifully equipped kitchen to cook a meal with ingredients bought at the local markets. Enjoy dinner with friends with a view on Mont Ventoux. We will be back
