Pigeon Forge Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Discounts for weeknights. 120' Home Theater with surround sound downstairs.

Smoky Mountain Escape is the cabin you've been searching for! With 3 bedrooms on three levels, there's plenty of privacy for large families or more than one family. Additionally, there's a loft with an extra bunk bed and play area to keep the kids busy and sleep once they're worn out.

Our cabin is close enough to town for those spur-of-the moment trips to the go-kart track or dinner theatre. It's also far enough that if you'd rather grill and eat on the quiet back deck, that's a possibility, too!

Wi-FI is available throughout the house. There's plenty of parking on the level lot as well. Even if it gets cold and snowy (it IS Tennessee, after all), you won't have any problem getting to and from the cabin because of difficult roads and steep driveways. There are NO STEEP, MONTAINOUS ROADS on the way to the cabin. That's a big deal in east Tennessee!

Dollywood is only 3 miles away and, if you havent' been, we recommend a day or two there, for sure. The Smoky Mountain National Park is close by as well. Whether you drive out Wears Valley Rd. to get to Cade's Cove or go through Gatlinburg, nature abounds in the Park.

There are also plenty of dinner shows, or just restaurants, so you'll never go hungry. On our website, we have a link to it below, we have links to plenty of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg activities on our Things To Do page.

Come to Pigeon Forge! You won't be disappointed at Smoky Mountain Escape.

Here's more about the Pigeon Forge area-

Nestled in the base of the Great Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Tenn., offers visitors the perfect vacation spot to enjoy natural beauty, experience local charm and create lifelong memories.

Pigeon Forge is situated in east Tennessee between Gatlinburg and Sevierville. It’s an ideal location for a family get-together, whether it’s a reunion, family vacation or wedding. There are plenty of group-friendly activities to choose from, both indoors and outdoors. The city itself dates back to pre-Revolutionary War times with its first business established in the early 1800s. Pigeon Forge started as a small farming community, but has since grown into an area incorporating both rural and urban settings with the formation of more businesses and developing culture.

Pigeon Forge has established itself as a popular destination for travelers with many parks, restaurants, shops, museums and activities to make sure everyone that visits has the best experience possible.

Must-see Attractions in Pigeon Forge

Dollywood: Country music and theme park lovers will truly enjoy a trip to Dollywood, a theme park owned by the legendary Dolly Parton. You can spend the day seeking out the best thrill rides while also checking out Appalachian crafts and music. Dollywood hosts several concerts each year, including appearances by Dolly herself as well as other local and national artists. Dollywood also owns and operates the adjacent Splash Country as well as the Dixie Stampede dinner theaters. When you need a break from the rides, stop into the Southern Gospel Museum and Hall of Fame to learn about the history of this musical genre.

Titanic Museum: The year 1912 is when the infamous Titanic tragedy occurred, as the doomed “unsinkable” ship sank to the depths of the ocean. Now the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge remembers the tragedy of the ship's fate, the passengers and the crew. Here you can experience what it was like to walk the hallways, cabins and parlors of the Titanic surrounded by more than 400 artifacts direct from the ship and passengers. Touch a real iceberg, climb the grand staircase, experience what 28-degree Fahrenheit water feels like and try to stand on a sloping deck to understand what it was really like to be aboard the Titanic that fateful night. Each visitor receives a boarding pass with the name of an actual crew member or passenger and learn their fate in the Titanic Memorial Room lined with 2,208 names.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Established in 1934, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the largest protected area of land east of the Rocky Mountains. Experience the breathtaking natural views around the park as you marvel at the mountain ranges and keep an eye out for the local wildlife. The most popular places to visit in the park include Roaring Fork, Cades Cove, the Mountain Farm Museum and the Cataloochee Valley, among others. Unwind and relax as nature and the sunlight soothes your stress. Enjoy a hike around the park or pack a picnic for a peaceful meal out in the fresh air.

Shopping and Dining in Pigeon Forge

The Old Mill Restaurant: Built in 1830 and still up and running, The Old Mill Restaurant is certainly a place you’ll want to eat at in Pigeon Forge. Enjoy Southern classics like country-fried steak and pot roast for a delicious, down-home meal. After lunch or dinner, you can watch meal and flour being ground and then learn how the local candy and pottery are made. Before leaving, stop in the general store to pick up some tasty treats for the road like homemade jam, fudge, salad dressing and other local products.

Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show: It’s a “feudin’ feastin’ family fun” time at the Hatfield and McCoy dinner show! Not only do you get a tasty Southern meal, you are sure to be entertained as well. As you dine, you’ll become part of the longest running feud in history, as the Hatfields and the McCoys try, mostly unsuccessfully, to settle their long-standing differences. Delight in the singing, dancing, feats of strength, hilarious comedy and thrilling stunts as you dine on fried chicken, pulled pork, cornbread, corn on the cob and granny’s special dessert.

Pigeon River Crossings: Head to Pigeon River Crossings for a day of shopping. With more than 85 outlet shops, this center is sure to have something on everyone’s list. Whether you’re looking to spruce up the wardrobe, pick up a souvenir or need a new pair of shoes, this is the place you’ll want to be.

About Amy Butterworth

We love the East Tennessee area. Pigeon Forge brings an excellent contrast of entertainment and activities for the kids (big and small) while also having the opportunity to get out into an incredible National Park and get 'away from it all.'

Amy Butterworth purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Amy Butterworth chose East

Smoky Mountain Escape is only 1 mile from the Pigeon Forge Parkway and 3 miles from Dollywood. The cabin provides the opportunity to be close enough to town but also rest quietly after a busy vacation day. There are plenty of people who will promise easy access to cabins around Pigeon Forge, but we deliver! We've even posted pictures from Google Earth to show what the typical roads look like on the way to the cabin. Remember, it's only 1 mile from the Parkway to the cabin! with regard to the cabin itself, we instantly fell in love with the roominess from the first time we entered. There's enough space in the cabin to spread out and get comfortable. We love our trips to Pigeon Forge and we'll do our best to make sure your trip is the best it can be as well.

What makes this cabin unique

Don't forget the pool! The community pool is just one more way to spend a morning or afternoon. The kids will have plenty of room to work off some energy and maybe even make a few new friends, too. We've just bought a new flat screen tv for the upstairs and a home theater system for downstairs. They will be both be installed in early December. Once installed our rates will increase for 2015. BOOK NOW while the rates for 2015 are still lower! Our goal is to provide a cabin which you and your family will want to come back to for many years to come. Thanks for reading!

We really enjoyed our time here. Great amenities! Everything was clean and ready for our arrival as expected. Amazing views and only a couple of minutes from the heart of Pigeon Forge. We will definitely recommend to friends and family, and will stay here again next time we're in the area.

Perfect place. Just as described.

  • 5 of 5

The owners are very accommodating and respond to all of our questions very quickly. We arrived later in the afternoon but the key code to the front door worked perfectly and the temperature has been sent before our arrival so it was just right when we walked in. We love that it is in town and very close to the brand-new Publix in Pigeon Forge. The home theater system is great and made for some good preseason football watching for the guys. Thank you for the great stay. We will be back again!

Nice place for a family (if you don't need the owner's help)

  • 3 of 5

To be fair and up front, I am a former VRBO (multiple home) owner. I know how reviews work, as I had some unfair ones and good ones. The most important thing an owner can do is try to fix the problem a renter has "when they have the need". It doesn't help anyone if the guest doesn't call in time to get help and be satisfied, but if they do...

So that is why I am writing a review. I tried to get help and didn't get it. I am sure they will post a rebuttal (I probably would to), but you judge for yourself and see if I sound fair.

The house is very nice and in a good place to pop in and out of Pigeon Forge. A major plus. However, it is in a "regular" subdivision, not at all "hidden away in the mountains", for expectations, and the guy across the road is re-constructing his house. None of this bothered me, but know the location pluses and minuses. Reasonably well equipped, and as good as any place priced comparably.

Here is the rub for me (and by the way, did I say I liked the house)? The house had not been vacuumed. How do I know? Well lots of shreds of their pretty leather sofa (in the picture), was all over the floor. (I took pictures and sent them to the owners). Simply no question about whether vacuumed...

I immediately called to alert them of the damage, and they said they knew. I then told them, the unit might not have been cleaned at all, as every closet had the blankets "wadded" up and thrown on the closet floor. (Sent them pictures of that too). They said something like they probably just didn't get them folded back correctly and put in the closet neat. Again, not a chance. now the question is, "Did I get an offer for someone to come vacuum or come wash/swap the blankets"? Now, if they did offer, I would have graciously told them I would take care of it myself. But, the question is, "Would you offer"? My goodness, as an owner, that was the first thing out of my mouth when I got this call on one of my properties. Still not world ending.

Now, with that background, here is what made me write this review. NONE of the beds had a mattress cover! Yes, gross!

I called and wrote about that. They said "Rick", the maintenance man would bring a cover over. Did he? No. Did they check back? No.

I finally wrote them to just forget about it, find a new cleaner (I think Rick is their cleaner too), and just never-mind. I guarantee you, the place still doesn't have any mattress covers today!

Moral of the story, decent place. Just don't expect any help.l

Owner's Response: Greg- Thanks for the feedback. Quick response (you called it): -New furniture going in this weekend. Sorry for the flakes on the floor. Lesson for us- don't buy bonded leather furniture. -You stayed 4th ofJuly weekend. Rick had hired extra cleaners for the busy weekend. He has fired the people who cleaned our house before your stay.. Thanks for telling us about it, all 14 times (not an exaggeration). -We work very hard to ensure our guests have a comfortable place and are happy during their stay. It is a large investment for our family in both time and money and it matters to us greatly. Unfortunately we can't work hard enough in some cases. We'll keep trying, regardless! By the way- you lose on the mattress pad bet. We found one bed that didn't have a bed liner but replaced them all, anyway.

Summer Vacation in Great Location

  • 4 of 5

This home was in a great location. From the deck you could see the Dollywood Summer fireworks in the distance. The younger kids enjoyed the game room and movie room feature. The cabin was well maintained and the owner was responsive to inquiries during our stay. The neighborhood was quiet with very little car traffic. There was enough space for everyone to spread out. We'd visit here again.

Beautiful Home, was suprised to find it was in a residential area

  • 4 of 5

My church group really enjoyed staying in this beautiful home. It was clean and included all of the expected amenities. The hot tub did not get as hot as we would have liked, and the jets were not very strong, but other than that, everything worked perfectly. We were very impressed by the multiple TVs, all with Satellite, as the Olympics were starting during our stay, and especially the hot water heater which managed to provide hot showers in 3 bathrooms at once! Very conveniently located with easy access to everything Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Townsend have to offer.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review! We are glad you had a good visit. We actually had the hot tub jets and heat turned down since we knew this was a church group and that it might not get used. Only kidding… We will have it checked. We hope you all will come again soon!
