About Ed Wright

My name is Ed Wright, my wife, Julie and I have operated a Real Estate residential sales company in Orange County, California for many years and we have enjoyed this home as our private vacation home. Recently we have decided to convert the home to a vacation rental. You will find the home is very warm and friendly. This is still home to us and we plan to use it when ever available.

Ed Wright purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Ed Wright chose Big Bear Lake

We bought this vacation home because of its ideal location. The privacy and the views were very important to us

What makes this cabin unique

The distinctive logged exterior and warm wood interior along with its panoramic lake and mountain views along with the secluded location on a private street made this the ideal choice for our vacation home. The interior has been decorated with leather couches and Deer and Antelope trophies to create the mountain adventure atmosphere.

Note. Due to our current drought, the water level in the lake has gone down and along with that is our lake view.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I greatly appreciate your review and extend our invitation to visit again in the winter. We typically get snow and the roads to our private home are plowed for easy access. Your suggestions are being taken care of. We take great pride in our vacation home and providing a first class retreat for our guests.

Great cabin, great views, near Big Bear Village

  • 5 of 5

Great beautiful location with a great view and only a couple of miles to Big Bear Village! Nice cabin with great outdoor area to hang out. The spa view and area was amazing, we loved the ambiance of it. We had a blast in the saloon (game room) and a great time overall, especially with it snowing on our last day!

Cozy cabin with great views even though the lake was low and not in view.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was roomy and comfortable for our family of nine adults, one child and two dogs. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and game room. We engaged in nearby activities such as snow tubing and hiking. We also enjoyed the Big Bear village restaurants and the beauty of the festive decorations.

We did have a problem with the microwave, we called and a new table top microwave was delivered within hours.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving event.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your 5 star review. We received 6 inches of snow over the week end which will help recover the low lake level. I have mailed your found cell phone back to you. Look forward to your return to Big Bear, check out our intimate Cottage near the beach in Dana Point.

fresh snowfall!

  • 5 of 5

Ed & Lewis was a pleasure to deal with! Great location, great views, all the amenities you could ask for. The house was cozy and had a big yard. Yard was perfect hill for sledding! Luckily we were blessed with fresh snowfall!! it was amazing...We had a good ol time building snowman and having snowball fights.

The only thing I would suggest that the Tv's in the bedrooms/gameroom should get upgrade & the one of the kitchen chair arm was broken. Overall stay was a good one, such a peaceful & fun experiences. Perfect location! I would totally recommend this cabin. Thank you Ed:)

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review. You hit it right for the fresh snow, which is great for sledding in the open field next door. I will take it under consideration for upgrading the TV's downstairs.

Beautiful log cabin

  • 4 of 5

Overall, there was not the lakeview expected but it being fall, the experience was overall private and lovely. The cottage was great and all the booking, etc was efficient and dealing with the property manager easy too. A few things - would have been nice to have firewood available on site, as well as just a few staples (olive oil, sugar, etc). Everything else was great and we'd recommend it.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. Because of the serious drought that we are experiencing, the level of the lake is down about 20 feet. This has affected our lake view somewhat. My local property manager provides the firewood at a nominal fee which he will deliver to the cabin. Thank you for your input regarding some of the basic staples which we will take care of for future guests. The cabin is a great place to enjoy the mountains and relax. We look forward to your return visit in the future.
