Hot tub, private path to ocean, view!

Bedrooms 4
Space 1,500 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Three Beds+sleeping Loft, Two Baths, Open Floor Plan, Hot Tub And Beach Access!

Thank you for considering Lamb's Cape Cottage for your next vacation! Located in the quiet town of Arch Cape, our home is a wonderful place to gather with family and friends. The house is uniquely situated one house back from the beach and surrounded on three sides by protected wetlands. Looking out the windows you see the ocean or green trees all around.

This property has a reverse floor plan with 3 bedrooms and a full bath on the main floor. There is also a washer and dryer inside the main floor entrance-perfect for stripping off sandy clothing and tossing it right into the wash. The bathroom is located adjacent to the entrance, too, so rinsing off after the beach or hot tub is easy.

The upstairs is an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen. Off the second story, three sliders open up to a generous wrap around deck with a grill and space to dine and lounge-the perfect spot to breathe the ocean air and take in the view. Also, when the sliders and windows are open, a lovely breeze blows through the home. Another full bath is located on the second story. An open loft boasts the best view of the house and has a full size bed. It isn't private, but it is a special place to spend the night if you're comfortable with the sturdy ladder. It also doubles as a fort for brave kiddos. They love it!

Our kitchen is updated and fully stocked for all of your cooking and entertaining needs. With a breakfast bar, you can chat with friends while you cook or mix drinks. The dining table is spacious enough for a group dinner or board games and puzzles.

When you want to relax, we have a flat screen tv with DVD player. Cuddle up and watch a movie or read a book. We also have a vizio speaker that connects to your iPhone if you want to rock out.

Our favorite part of the house is the proximity to the beach. Directly across the quiet, dead-end street is private deeded access to the beach along a composite boardwalk. The boardwalk leads to a short, gradual staircase that puts you right on the beach. We measure the walk to be about 30 seconds, which is ideal with kids and the frequent bellows of-I have to go potty, I am starving, I am dying of thirst.

Did we mention the hot tub? Privately located on the East side of the house, which abuts the wetlands, is our large hot tub. Very private!

We hope that you choose our home for your next vacation, but wherever you end up, we know you will love the Oregon Coast!

The couches in this place are super old, greasy and saggy. Also there is trapped condensation between all of the window panes so that the view through the windows is like looking through a dirty glass shower door to the outside.

Even though the bedrooms are nice and the kitchen is good, this place was an overall disappointment because of the these major issues.

Really quiet

  • 4 of 5

If you are looking for a quiet beach this is the place for you. It was off to the side, very secluded. Other beaches are short drives away. Just south on 101 are spectacular views of the coast, it's in the middle of everything. The house itself was very nice, the only negative thing I would say is there isn't any really good views from any of the bedrooms but the loft above the living room has the best view. I know we enjoyed the home, and the location very much.

Great space/size some things to be aware of

  • 3 of 5

Great set up/size, owners were great communicators/flexible, maintenance needed

I feel like this review is best written in the good and the bad as we had moments on either end of the spectrum. Overall I do recommend the spot based on location (quick trip from Portland, quiet getaway, etc) however I would verify with the owner that the maintenance needs are remedied before booking.

Great view. Plentiful parking for vehicles!

The beds were super comfy!

Lots and lots of towels, plenty for showers, and hot tub use, and trips to the beach.

Our original reservation was for MLK weekend and Portland got socked by huge amounts of snow, even though it was within the 30 days, Katie the owner was willing to refund us/move the date, and we ended up going out the first weekend of February instead.

When we did communicate regarding items the house had/concerns she was very responsive and great.

The size was great for our group of 6-8, but we did fill all the beds.

The open lay out on the upper floor allowed us all to craft and chat easily.

Sadly the hot tub wasn't working on our visit, and after calls to maintenance repairs weren't possible during our stay. We did get a partial refund to offset this however.

Although it isn't listed as an amenity it is clear that there is a fireplace in the house from the photos and we discovered upon arrival that it wasn't able to be used as well.

The biggest issue for our group was that we were there for a crafting weekend (sewers scrapbookers etc) and the only outlets that safely/sucessfully held cords were located in the kitchen, which made plugging in items interesting with use of our extension cords. The bedroom plugs were a bit better but not much. Which in the tech world we live in today even those bringing ipads, phones etc needing charging may want to consider. The rest of the plugs in the main living space were too loose to hold plugs safely without propping or support. When we spoke to maintenance about the hot tubs and asked about the outlets he said that they knew about this.

The house had just some general maintenance items that need addressing, paint on the windowsills, evidence of previous window leaks needing repair, typical coast issues.

Coast Family Outing

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our time on the coast and staying at the Arch Cape property. The house met our needs for family time together. We enjoyed the Hot tub and the outdoor fireplace. The location was great with a view of the ocean. Thanks again for a beautiful time on the coast. We will be back.
