About the property

Welcome! Owls Head is the perfect place to stay for all you want to do on the midcoast. If you want to beach comb, fish, hike, swim, boat, or just explore this beautiful area, this house is an excellent choice. Great restaurants, shopping, art galleries, and museums are within a couple of miles. The Owls Head Transportation Museum is just around the corner and majestic Owls Head Light a few miles away. Close to everything, yet off the beaten path, this house provides it all, peace and solitude, and accessibility to anything you desire.

Completely renovated in 2013 this house exudes peace and tranquility. Located at the end of a private lane, it is close to Birch Point State Park and it's lovely beach. Professionally decorated with a beach vibe, you will instantly feel relaxed when you walk through the door. With all new furniture, kitchen cabinets, and bathrooms, this home is a dream to call your own, even if it is just for a week!

With its open layout, the living area is a wonderful place to relax and plan or talk about your daily adventures. The cook friendly kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances and cookware. There is also a new gas grill just outside the glass doors of the dining room. Pick up some fresh fish or lobster at Jess's Market (just a couple of miles away) to cook for dinner tonight! Just off the kitchen is the sunny dining room. It will invite you to linger over meals, enjoying the view of the lawn and woods beyond. It is common to see deer grazing in the morning and evenings. Just outside the dining room there is a screened gazebo to lengthen your days and outside enjoyment.

The bedroom layout was well thought out with privacy in mind. When you enter the master suite you will feel the calming affect of the decor. A comfortable king bed awaits, and down a private hall with well designed built in closets, you will find the large master bath.

The two other bedrooms are nicely separated from the master suite by a small den. One of the bedrooms features a queen bed, the other twin beds. Both with plenty of storage so you can unpack and make yourself at home. Looking out over the backyard, they offer pretty decor and privacy. You may even glimpse the deer in the morning!

The den with its comfortable couch is a great place for the kids to hang out or as a quiet place to tuck yourself away. The couch has a pullout bed making it a possibility for extra sleeping space.

The second full bath is located down the hall from the living room. It has a lovely tub shower with rain shower head.

The living room and den have new televisions with satellite. The house is equipped with wifi throughout.

The laundry center is located down one flight of stairs.

Leave your cares at home, come to Owls Head, visit a working fishing village and all the beauty the midcoast has to offer. Your vacation will be one you'll remember forever.

Immaculate home, pleasant stay, highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Tastefully and relaxingly decorated. Everything seems new. Immaculately clean in every respect. Huge living room plus den, both with huge TVs, plus three bedrooms provide plenty of enjoyable space. Also, dining room and gazebo, and deer sited in backyard. Our last day: flock of turkeys ambled through the yard. Convenient laundry in basement. Nor far from all that Rockland has to offer, as well as closer to Owls Head General Store and lighthouse, and 'Keag Store.

This is a lovely, quaint home at the end of a cul-de-sac that is adorned with seasonal flowers. The main picture does not do justice to the home. It is surrounded by wooded area and has a gazebo for a fun place to eat, hang out and watch nature. We grilled out and the children enjoyed their private eating area in the gazebo and the massive lawn for yard play. The wild turkeys were fun to watch early in the morning. We were all amazed at how clean the home was. The layout is great for housing more than one generation, as our kids and grandkids stayed off the den while we were in the master, allowing all of us all our own space. Our only wish would be for a king size (rather than the queen size) bed in the secondary bedroom for comfort of all the adults. The main living area is large which allowed plenty of room for the grandkids to play. The location was very convenient to the beach, sightseeing and visiting with our family in Rockland. We hope we are lucky enough for the home to be available when we return in 2 years for our family reunion! James, thank you for everything!

This was our second stay (ten days this year). The house is very, very clean and meticulously decorated and maintained. The large living room (with large flat screen TV) and separate dining area on the sun porch is more than enough room for our group of five adults. The master suite has a full bath. The two other bedrooms are entered through a small den (with flat screen TV). The hall full bath is spacious. The kitchen has updated stainless steel appliances (including dishwasher) and is stocked with every imaginable equipment and utensils to create a gourmet meal. Cookbooks, instructions for all appliances as well as information on what the area has to offer are also provided! With the washer and dryer in the basement, this house made our stay relaxing and very comfortable.

The house in a rural setting on about 1.5 acres yet it is just 10 minutes for the WalMart Shopping Center on Route 1. Wild turkeys and their chicks along with deer were seen on several days. Rockland and Camden are just "down the road a piece". Owls Head Lighthouse and the Transportation Museum are only a bike ride away.

This house went beyond our expectations---we are glad we took this house again. We will stay again in a heartbeat---just have to hope our dates are available!!!

Wonderful property

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this house. We were there for 16 days. Everything in the house was perfect. The kitchen is fully stocked with all necessary equipment (coffe maker, blender, pots and pans of excellent quality, dishes, etc.). The beds are very comfortable and so are the pillows. The house is located at the end of a short gravel road, very private and quiet. It is about 2 mi. from Rockland which has wonderful restaurants, art galleries and museums. We will definitively return to this house for another great vacation.

Pictures don't begin to describe this house

  • 5 of 5

I'm so sad that my week at this house has ended. Everything about it, from the pretty flowers and lawn to the decoration of the spotlessly clean house inside, is wonderful. I have family in the area and when they saw it, they were impressed also. All the rooms are good sized, with many windows that ensure there's always a nice breeze in the house. The kitchen is great to cook in...lots of counter space and good appliances. The dining room's large round table and lazy susan were much used and appreciated. The master suite has a very comfortable bed, a bathroom big enough for a group and a very large closet. The area off of the second TV room contains the two other bedrooms which I think would be a great arrangement for a group so that everyone had some privacy. There are too many extras to put into one review, but needless to say, I'm already making plans to return next year.

Great family rental

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a great family getaway. Three generations and everyone was happy. Location is close to everything, quiet and large yard. The outside gazebo was nice place for kids to chill. The dining area was comfortable for all of us to have meals together. The owners have done an excellent job of equipping the kitchen, providing linens and towels.

Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting A vacation location where you just relax and enjoy the lovely Maine coastal areas.
