Why Krystal Kelley chose West Seattle

We love this property for its unique location at the very North end of West Seattle. It is perched above Alki Beach for optimum views and the roof top deck really captivated us.

What makes this apartment unique

The roof deck does not get any better and the modern amenities make it very efficient. It is a 4-star energy building and because sustainability is very important to us as well as a welcoming community, this is a beautiful apartment to visit or live :)

Great apt with rooftop deck

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was bright, tidy, and pleasant. The rooftop deck is definitely a highlight. Modest kitchen so I wouldn't plan on cooking, although the small refrigerator and sink and washing machine were more than adequate. As advised, there are many stairs. My two suggestions are for a light closer to the lock box for late night entries and a wine bottle opener in the kitchen. Our stay was great.

Great for a family of 4 (or 5)

  • 4 of 5

We had a blast. Awesome location in West Seattle. Everything you need is within walking distance. Coffee, Cocktails, and Pizza within a stone's throw?...sweet! Alki beach is a short hike or drive away. We had happy hour on the rooftop deck every afternoon. Our oldest even slept outside one night looking for shooting stars.

Our only complaint would be that the furniture, mattresses and linens/towels were borderline "goodwill" in quality. If you stepped up your game a little in that department, 5 star city.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! The rooftop really was phenomenal. We spent most of our time at the rental eating/talking/hanging out up there and enjoying the view. The rental is conveniently located to restaurants, coffee shops, movie theater, shopping, etc. It stayed nice and cool inside even though we rented in August. The only issue at all that we had was that there were no knives whatsoever (other than butter knives) in the kitchen, so cooking was a bit of a challenge.

Unfortunately, not as advertised

  • 1 of 5

There's a lot about this place that would make it lovely in the summertime. The deck is clearly nice and has a grill and a dining area, and the view is great. I'd imagine in good weather it would be a pleasure. But the description of the space is somewhat unclear, and the outside deck turned out to be the ONLY common space, and the only table. As we were there in the winter, we had no idea going in that there was nowhere to sit for meals of any sort.

Other issues also came up because of the description, which describes this as an apartment. It's not, really. It's two rooms and a bathroom (nice bathroom, to be sure). It DOESN'T have a "two burner cooktop and a convection oven," it has a hotplate and a microwave, and if you run them together it blows a fuse. The Wifi broke down and the fuse blew over the time we were there. The owners were helpful in getting those things fixed, but they were a sizeable hassle.

Also, there's a hidden charge for parking - ten bucks a day if you want to park in the space by the building. When we got home and asked to be discounted this cost for our stay due to the Wifi breaking down and the fuse blowing, the response I got was that we "should have asked for that before checking out" and the owner didn't see how asking for the discount was related to the problems and issues we had while we were there.

Initially, I thought the owners were quite nice, and they own and operate a lovely organization over there. But they aren't really at all open to the fact that they are unclear in their description of the space, nor are they thoughtful about the experience of their guests.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry about the WiFi, I did have it up and running within an hour on Christmas Eve. I work very hard to help any and all issues at a speedy rate. The breaker did flip and I hope I walked you through that on Christmas Day quickly as well. My phone was buried for about half an hour in Christmas wrap and three kids screaming Joy...but I tried to get it handled as quickly as possible. The parking is disclosed as paid only, we only have one space for the whole building, so we must charge for it b/c employees, housekeepers and tenants all want use of it. We did comp the parking as you asked, so I'm not exactly sure what your issue was. I did change the convection oven to a microwave oven in the description. We used to have a convection oven, but last summer almost every guest requested a microwave instead, so we swapped them out and I forgot to change the description. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
