Built in 2005 on peaceful Little Duck Pond in Windham, Maine, this hidden gem is 10 miles from Portland yet is secluded on a 44-acre spring-fed pond. The property is over an acre with 262 feet of waterfront. A private dirt road leads to our home on the pond. Just steps away from the water, it has a deck, screen porch, an outdoor dining table and gas grill. The waterfront has a dock, a sandy bottom entry for wading or swimming and a separate boat area with 3 kayaks, a canoe and pedal boat. The full-width deck, well-equipped kitchen, dining area, living room with fireplace, full bath, master king bedroom and screen porch are on the upper level. Twin-bedded and queen bedrooms, bath with stall shower, washer & dryer, and family room with a wet bar/mini-fridge/microwave, HDTV and queen pull-out couch are on the lower level. Sheets, bath towels, beach towels and kitchen towels are included. You are also welcome to bring your own.

Why Janet Weinstein chose Windham
We have vacationed in Maine for most of the last 30 years. We rented this house in the summer of 2013 and fell in love with it! The setting on the lake, the peace and quiet, yet so close to Portland and the coast are a hard-to-beat combination. And we fell in love with the house itself. We have renovated a lot of properties and recognized the great workmanship and quality of materials used in this house.
What makes this House unique
The wall of windows in the living room/dining room area just brings the lake inside. On a visit in October it was breathtaking! Being so close to the water allows such easy access to the house and dock. If you forget something, it's no big deal to go back and get it. And the mini-refrigerator on the lower level is such an added bonus. When we are there we keep it full of water bottles--no need to traipse through the whole house to refill. It's an easy in and out from the dock. As past renters, we have tried to think of the "little things" that make a rental special and convenient. For that reason, we provide sheets and towels, basic bathroom products (shampoo, conditioner, soap, tissues, etc.), kitchen basics (salt, pepper, mustard, ketchup, flour, napkins, paper towels, dish soap), laundry detergent, etc.

Peaceful, comfy home on the water!
Great house which seems more like a family home than a rental property - very well furnished kitchen and good quality furnishings, etc. And such a glorious pond (for those of us preferring kayaks to jetskis) and surprisingly warm for swimming by end of June. Nice bit of sand by the dock also and water there not weedy. Barely saw or heard others around the pond - more noise from the jumping fish and the bullfrog!
Easy drive into Portland or to shopping, no problem driving the long track in our Subaru outback. and a little Mazda cleared the bumps fine as well.
thanks for a great week!
Thanks so much for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed the house, pond, and access to Portland.
Quiet and beautiful view
Six of us stayed for Memorial Day weekend. We loved it. The house is clean and has lots of room. We loved the owner even left a coffee Keurig pots pans and all u would need. If u love the lake and a peaceful time this is the place for you This property is a mile into the woods it was cool. . My only downfall is lots of bugs cuz it’s in the woods. Oh and 20 minutes or so to everything which is a plus
We’re so happy you enjoyed the house, the pond, and location. May can be a tricky time with small black flies in Maine—their presence can vary year to year. We hope you will come again during the summer or fall when the black flies are usually not around.
Great place to Reflect and Relax with a breathtaking view!!!
What a wonderful place to see the seasons change for the first time. The Little Duck Pond is the perfect place to spend relaxing and reflecting. The scene is breathtaking! Close to Portland and plenty of places for great food. The house was nicely furnished and has a paddle boat, kayaks and canoes with life jackets and paddles. We had a blast!!!
Beautiful home right on the water can't be beat.
8 of us couldn't have been happier with this rental. Owner was very nice and easy to communicate with. Very spacious and comfortable layout with tons of windows to view the water from. I recommend this property 100%. I will definitely be staying here next time im in maine.
A very nice remote, quiet location and the home was extremely clean and tidy and possessed all the items needed for a visit. Thank you,
Great house, serene setting, great owners
Thanks for a wonderful stay. We really enjoyed your place and the pond. we canoed on the lake twice. We thought the kitchen was well appointed; the rooms and furniture were very comfortable and relaxing; the dock, balcony and screened in porch were wonderful options for enjoying the outdoors, as were the kayaks and canoe, and the setting was very serene. You and Pam were wonderful to deal with. We'd be happy to recommend your place to friends.
We appreciate your taking the time to share those things that you enjoyed during your stay at our house. Thanks so much!
When at the lake house you feel secluded and in the woods, yet Portland and all it has to offer (great restaurants, art museum, ferry trips, whale-watching, shopping) is less than 30 minutes away. There is a fun center with mini-golf and zip-lining 15 mins from the house. The beaches, light houses, and state parks of the Maine coast are a short drive as well. LL Bean and the Freeport outlets are an easy drive.
