About Susan or Jimmy Snow

Jimmy and I moved to Wilbarger Point, after searching for the perfect 'old house'. We have spent hours and hours giving the property the tender loving care it needed to bring it back to life. Susan is a retired elementary school teacher and Jimmy recently retired, after 41 years with the electric company. Our priorities are Faith, Family, and Friends. We love spending time with our family/ grand-kids, gardening, hunting, fishing, sewing, quilting, smocking, cooking, and canning. Our two children, Corrie and Josh, both graduated from Texas A & M. Their spouses also graduated from Texas A & M. We love living in Georgetown and are thrilled with the opportunity to share our place with others.

Susan or Jimmy Snow purchased this chateau / country house in 1995

Why Susan or Jimmy Snow chose Georgetown

We both have always loved old houses and old things. When we moved to Georgetown, the historical properties always charmed us. We fell in love with San Gabriel park and spent many hours there when our kids were younger. When we learned of the Jesse Cooper House, we spent several years trying to make it ours. When the timing was right, it happened and we have been blessed to live here.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

From the hill, we have a wonderful view of the sunsets and sunrises. There is always a breeze. You get the feel of being out in the country, but also the luxury of being close to town.

Cute & comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We had a nice stay at the Jesse Cooper cottage. It is easy to get to, but feels like you're out in the country. With three dogs, this was hands down superior to staying at a hotel. The fenced yard was small, but adequate. The back door locks, but can be opened without unlocking. I didn't feel unsafe though, due to the location. If you plan to stay for a long time, be ready to wash dishes, as there isn't a dishwasher.

Owner's Response: Glad to know about the back door. Didn’t realize it wasn’t locking. We always keep paper plates Inn the cottage for your convenience.

Good for a quick few days stay and perfect for companion animals

  • 4 of 5

First off the hospitality was great! We were greeted with homemade caramel popcorn that was delicious and there were many brochures left for us to view on activities in the area. The bed was comfortable and a good size. The kitchen had everything we needed for making our own meals with plenty of coffee and fridge space. There was really only one downside for us and that was having to clean some heavy mold off of the shower head. Honestly, that's the only criticism we had on the place. It's really the perfect spot to have your pet and stay for a few days.

Owner's Response: We're glad that you enjoyed your stay in Texas and hope that you were able to find just the right area to make your home. So sorry about the shower head. We have a lot of lime in our water and I guess it built up without my noticing it.

Clean and Cozy

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful little cottage! The house was clean and had all the comforts of home! It's in the perfect location for us - close to Round Rock and Austin but tucked away up a little dirt road in a quiet section of Georgetown! The owners were very attentive to our needs and even sent over a repair man to look at the A/C that just needed to be reset! We definitely recommend this charming home and look forward to staying when we come to TX again!

Jimmy & Susan, as VRBO owners ourselves, we would love to have you stay with us anytime you are traveling to Yellowstone or the Grand Teton National Park area! We would LOVE to reciprocate your hospitality! We're listing # 1115743

We had such a great time on a weekend getaway at this wonderful little cottage! Jimmy and Susan were just fantastic. They were so welcoming and kind and they even sent some extra veggies from their garden home with us when we left. The cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway- our pup loved it too! We can't wait to come back!!

Cozy and Comfortable!!

  • 5 of 5

This is our third year here at the cottage. We return here for many reasons - one of the best is Jimmy and Susan Snow. They are wonderful people always ready to answer questions, give direction, but most of all we have become friends. They are the best!! The cottage is just exactly what we need - a home away from home. It is comfortable, roomy, private, clean, has a big walk in closet and everything you need. It sits on a hill and at night you can see the lights in Georgetown and if there is a concert going on in town somewhere, you can hear the music. If is it a clear night, you can see thousands of stars. We have already booked again for next year.

The city of Georgetown has much to offer. The square has live entertainment, restaurants, shopping, and wineries. The San Gabriel Park is amazing. We think that Georgetown has the best Mexican food in the area, and that is at Dos Salsa (you will probably see us there.) We are close to great shopping at the outlet mall in Round rock. The hill country isn't far, and, of course, Austin is full of things to do.
