Why Dirk and Kenna Johnson chose South Charleston
This has always been a special place for many generations of our family. I could not imagine this home not being a part of our lives and felt it would be great to share it when we are not visiting.

Perfect setting for a not so perfect weekend.
The Farmhouse was exactly what we needed. Parts of 5 families were able to come together and celebrate the passing away of their sister with comfort and warmth. With the memorial taking place in Cedarville, the home was located very conveniently. Each family had their own room for privacy when needed and plenty of living space to just hang out with everyone together. Huge meals were prepared in the kitchen with ease and the dining room was a blessing to be together as one big family. Although our purpose for renting wasn’t desired, the need for the farmhouse was greater then expected. It provided a place for joy, for weeping, and for healing. Thank you for the use of your beautiful home. It provided everything we needed and more. We have already determined to reserve the home in the next couple years (if still available) for my nephew’s wedding as it is perfect for bringing families together. We highly recommend the Historic Grand Farmhouse of South Charleston!!!!
Good place for our group.
Relaxing place. Met our groups needs
Plenty of room for a fun family reunion weekend
This farmhouse has beautiful historic touches and the upgrades you want with lots of room for our nine adults to spend time together and have their own space. Seeing the sun rising over a cornfield and watching it set as the cattle grazed in the pasture just outside your window was amazing. From a game night on the screened front porch to s'mores and stories around the fire pit out back, we found great ways to connect as a family in this home.
A few tips - the home uses well water but there is a water softener with its own faucet at the kitchen sink for water for drinking and cooking. The laundry room is upstairs and located through a door in the bedroom with the treadmill. And you really do "climb" into the king bed in the master suite. It has a very high frame and the top of the mattress is about three feet from the floor, which could be challenging for someone who's shorter or not so nimble.
This is a charming house, in a unique setting, in a very friendly community.
We just loved are stay.
The property was so much more then we were expecting. We were so surprised at all the little extra special attention to detail. There was a little something for everyone. Are favorite was are morning coffee on the screen porch watch the amazing sunrise. Thank you for your generosity. In sharing this home.
A great get away
The home has the charm of an old farmhouse but the comfort of modern upgrades. Such a relaxing weekend, we spent our evenings on the porch enjoying the quite and watching the most amazing sunsets! We will return!
