3 br/2.5 bath/art&antique-filled/pristine HOME--overlooking Lake Mi, golf, woods
Our home sits on a hill at Crooked Tree Golf Course - - overlooking Lake Michigan, lawns, flowers, woods, farms, occasional critters, & few other houses. We take great pride in our home as well as the lawn & flowers - - and we will have our helper(s) look after the lawn and gardens weekly during your stay.
Major amenities include: 3 bedrooms (2 queen beds & 1 double); 2 1/2 baths; large upstairs study overlooking the lake; 'cathedral-ceiling' living area opening to a large, well-equipped kitchen with gas cooking & counter-top breakfast/lunch area; a charming dining room that seats a maximum of 7-8 at a glass table laid on top of an antique Indian 'bullock cart roof'; laundry with washer/dryer/closets; 48-foot-long back deck overlooking the lake; screened-in porch; 2 1/2 car garage; many fascinating antique furnishings & artifacts; and a houseful of eclectic art, books, & music - - collected over many decades.
Other features include a gas grille; an umbrella & loads of furniture, etc. for the deck; directv including netflix, 2 dvrs & 4 tv sets; Wi-Fi; miscellaneous games; 2 dozen (barely used) golf balls if you plan to golf; etc. etc.
Most importantly - - this is our home! We will ensure that you have plenty of room for your belongings, but we live here much of the time and it is not feasible to remove all traces of ourselves. Further, as mentioned above, the house is full of unique furnishings, art, etc. that mean a great deal to us. Accordingly: we are unable to accommodate pets or children under 12 (and then only if well-behaved, please!) & must limit the total number of people staying at our home; to be totally candid, we wish to rent our home only to people who will appreciate this uniqueness and will look after it as if it were their own.
We are now into our 6th decade of exploring northwest Michigan.....& we will offer tons of advice on how best to maximize your enjoyment of this beautiful area - - restaurants/ drives/ beaches/ farms & orchards/ farm-markets / 'dives'/ galleries/ golf courses/ concert venues/ etc. etc.

About tim coon
we are a bit of a "global" up in PA/ (one or the other--or both) lived in Europe, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore as well as collected art & antiques from all these places and to visit/babysit on 3 we have travelled a good deal, though never enough!, in the USA & elsewhere. in addition to our "main" careers, we have owned restaurants & we fully qualify as "food-nuts", though NOT "food-snobs" it has to be GOOD!, not necessarily (nor even preferably) "fancy"! in all of our endeavors, we always strive to do everything we do as well as it can be done! and that includes cleanliness! and that is why we are ONLY interested in considering renting our house to people who share these values!
tim coon purchased this House in 2000
Why tim coon chose Resort Township
we love the views! we love the sunsets! we love the convenience to all the wonderful activities and places to be found in northwestern Michigan! and, though so near to the lovely town of Petoskey, we love the quiet and solitude -- including the opportunity to occasionally see a deer or wild turkey or coyote wander through our yard.
What makes this House unique
i think if you have read all our other notes, anything i might add here would be redundant!

many excellent art galleries / great farm markets, especially sat. am in boyne city! / a wonderful & authentic french bakery in b.c. / a few very good restaurants (we are very particular & we'll give you our best suggestions) / THE place to go for fresh whitefish to cook yourself -- &, if you want to explore the U.P. for a day or two or three, early lunch (before they run out!) at Brown Fisheries Fish House in Paradise is a must -- along with the Shipwreck Museum, Taquamenon Falls, the Sault Locks, boat tour of the Pictured Rocks, etc. / swimming, boating, fishing, sailing, jetskiing, paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, etc. on the many large (& small) inland lakes and rivers that abound -- including that famous northern-Michigan head-downtilted pastime called Petoskey Stone Hunting along the Lake Michigan shoreline -- & also the wonderful "chain of lakes inland waterway", where you can rent a pontoon boat and "pilot" your crew through a "drawbridge", a real lock, and through some fascinating "wilderness" areas as well as "cottagy" sections of the river / drive (or bike!) the "tunnel of trees" to good hart, cross village, sturgeon bay, and beyond / many many golf courses / many different fishing opportunities / take the ferry to macinac island -- and, when you do, treat yourself to an excellent lunch -- & not that expensive in the casual lobby cafe -- at the truly-grand "Grand Hotel"......but also be sure to visit the charming little bar hidden away at the tip top of the place! / walk &/or bike the miles & miles of paved trails from charlevoix all the way to harbor springs / explore the many nature reserves scattered throughout this area / enjoy movies, especially at the charming new Lyric Theater in H. Springs, the Petoskey library, & Bay View / enjoy many different opportunities for live music and theater -- especially including the incredible offerings at Bay View in Petoskey, the Young Americans at Boyne Highlands, and the several small "barn" & gallery concert venues that operate in the summer........& if you don't mind an hour and a half drive home afterward, Interlochen offers outstanding music, dance, and theatric performances all summer! / endless opportunities for "near-solitary" country-possible "wilderness" drives-walks, with likely wildlife sightings, etc etc (always amazes me that 98% of folks seem to stick to the towns!) -- including brilliant fall colors in October / visit a "working farm", animals & all, at Pond Hill Farm outside of Harbor Springs / out- standing skiing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice-fishing, etc. opportunities in winter / hunting in fall /
