My Family and I are sure that you will have a great time in our house. There are very few houses in San Antonio which offer an amazing location like ours. You are actually just 5-10 minutes from all the major attractions in San Antonio. You don't even have to drive into any single freeway to get to San Antonio's Downtown, Riverwalk, Convention Center, The Alamo, The Pearl Restaurant District, San Antonio Zoo, Museum of Contemporary Art, Botanical Gardens and so many other attractions. Also in LESS THAN 1 MILE, you can drive to the following local spots:
-The Quarry (San Antonio's Best Entertainment Center). One of the best movie theaters in SA, more than 10 restaurants, and more than 50 boutique stores.
-North Star Mall: One of the 2 top shopping malls in San Antonio
-Olmos Park: One of the largest City Parks in San Antonio. Great for playing sports and picnics
-The Alamo Golf Course
Our house was just remodeled on MARCH 2015 so rest assure you will find a place with great ambiance, luxury and decor.
I am from Monterrey, Mexico and San Antonio has always been my 2nd home town. I love San Antonio because it is a major big city but still you can drive to many fun areas within just a short 10-15 minute drive if you live in Central San Antonio.
Ricardo Valdes (Se habla Espanol) purchased this house in 2013
I love the urban life. When you live or vacation close to downtown San Antonio, you are closer to the culture, energy and personality of a city. After identifying the amazing location and safe environment of this house less than 4 miles from Downtown and less than 2 miles from all the nice restaurants, bars and shops, my dream was to turn this house into a cozy paradise of contemporary ambiance and decor, full of light and color. The House is also located just 10 minutes away from the Airport.
Amazing location close to everything. Safe neighborhood with a mix of Hispanic traditional families and upcoming young and mature urban professionals (Single and Married)
Great contemporary decor and ambiance.
This was the first time my family rented a place to gather, and we were happy to have found Casa Olmos. My daughter is doing her residency in San Antonio and we all wanted to be together. We also wanted to celebrate our Army son's safe return from another mission. All our children are older now and most live in the New York area like us, but our son and his wife and one-year-old daughter would be coming from the Fort Bragg area in from North Carolina. Most of us were spending a great deal in travel fees and our goal was to rent an affordable house that was neat and clean with enough beds for us. Since this met those needs perfectly, we gave this five stars.
The three bedrooms with king beds were perfect for our crew of seven. A crib was also provided and there was even a portable air bed in the closet. There was enough personal and communal space for us all to be comfortable. They had two baths as well which was truly a blessing. The family space included the kitchen and living room and they were were interconnected to make it spacious enough for when we were altogether.
All the appliances were clean and workable. We were under impression there would be a dishwasher, but there was not any. Since we ate out most of the time (except breakfast), it was not a major issue. We also had to run some vinegar through the coffee pot to clean out some mineral buildup but we did find Dunkin' Donuts nearby while we were fixing it! The one thing we did miss was a DVD player since we brought some things we wanted to watch as a family. Still, none of this impacted our stay very much.
Finally, you want to rent from someone you trust. We saw Ricardo had great recommendations and that spoke volumes to us. Although we never met him personally, we had numerous electronic communications going back and forth, and he could not be more accommodating. He even sent over his landscaper during our stay to clean up fallen leaves and things.
The fireworks made San Antonio a great place to welcome in the new year. There was lots to do for all ages. We visited the Riverwalk (downtown), the San Antonio Zoo (with the baby), the Alamo, Fredricksburg (for wine tasting and dinner), the Botanical Gardens and the Japanese Gardens, the Pearl District, and numerous fitness gyms, restaurants and cafes. Our favorite place to eat as a family was the Southerleigh Fine Food and Brewery at the Pearl Brewery, and we suggest you never leave San Antonio without at least one visit there!
We rented this property in San Antonio to visit family and participate in the San Antonio Rock 'N' Roll Marathon. The house is in an older neighborhood that's only a short drive to downtown San Antonio. It's very well maintained and the owner was prompt to respond to any of our questions. We'd recommend this property if you're looking to visit San Antonio. Just make sure to read the details as this property does not have a washer and dryer which may be an issue for some.
What a wonderful experience we had at this property. The house was the perfect size, spacious bedrooms, great fenced backyard with an inviting patio area. The openness of the living area made it perfect for preparing meals, Thanksgiving Dinner, and having family and friends be a part of the all that was happening. The house is quaint and extremely comfortable. The deco is cheerful and modern. The house was perfect for having family and friends come out of state to spend Thanksgiving week and attend the UTSA-Charlotte football game. What a pleasure to meet Mr. Valdes. He was extremely accommodating to our needs. The property is centrally located and accessibly to many San Antonio attractions. I highly recommend this property.
The neighborhood was decent. There are lots of similarly sized homes locally, many of them being renovated. The high school is only two blocks away, but we never had a problem with noise or rowdy kids. The whole area was relatively docile and easy to navigate. There is a Family Dollar, McDonald's and Burger King, fairly close by. Nothing is right around the corner, but it is not very far a way. We used the #2 bus to get the city center and it was reasonably convenient. It picks up right in front of the high school. During the week, it runs every 15 mins and drops you off on Navarro and Commerce in about 20 minutes. The 7-day pass was $12.
The house was clean and inviting. The front door opens to a well kept living room. It looks bigger in pictures than in person, but the open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen were ample for our needs. Two bedrooms in the front of the house shared one modest but full bathroom. The biggest room is in the back (an addition?); it has an on-suite full bath (no tub) with enclosed glass shower and plenty of space. it is not easy to share that bathroom as one would have to walk through the bedroom to get to it. The place is visually appealing. On close inspection, there are several minor inaccuracies in the finishes (the toilet seats were loose, the shower door not completely sealed, and so forth). The heating and air con were excellent, and each bedroom has a ceiling fan. Very versatile. The back yard was fun. It has a Tiki Bar and enough room for three guys to spread out and throw a football. The driveway is good for up to three cars.
Ricardo was attentive to our needs and helpful throughout the stay. Only one key was provided, and this created some logistical difficulties for three guys staying there for a conference. I suspect that he would provide one or two more if you asked him in advance. We did not ask, but it worked out fine for us. The internet works well and only has a large smattering of the basic channels, good enough for sports enthusiasts like ourselves. No HBO or other luxuries. It went out one day and Ricardo called in to have it reset. It worked well otherwise.
The bottomline is that I would indeed use the home again. The combination of location, price, accommodations and a positive experience with the landlord made the whole trip worthwhile.
Had a wonderful stay at this home with our family - kid friendly, extremely close to zoo/Brackenridge park/Botanical garden/Trinity University and yummy restaurants.
This house was really perfect for our family. We really appreciated that each bedroom had a king bed and the living area with the sectional had plenty of room for 5 adults and 1 child. We loved how the house was decorated with all the bright colors and fabulous oversized art pieces. Really unique! The kitchen has all the little appliances you need, toaster, toaster oven, coffee pot, and everything was really clean. The cabinets are stocked with some spices. There is no dishwasher but that is not an issue since we really didn't cook a lot. We did not spend anytime in the backyard but it has changed since whenever the pictures of the yard were posted. A lot of the furniture is gone and it is not as colorful as it looks. But we did not hang out there. The location is perfect, very quiet family neighborhood, we felt very safe. Everything we wanted to see was only about 15 minutes away. Ricardo was great to work with and responded with my questions pretty quickly. I would stay here again for sure.
