A spacious, comfortable and secure apartment well situated on the last floor of an elegant 19th century building in Via Ottaviano, just a few steps from St. Peter's Cathedral and the Vatican Museum, and, of course, the subway stop 'Ottaviano' which will take you everywhere in the City in a matter of minutes. Just by crossing the nearest Tiber bridge, the most important historical sights of the Eternal City can be reached within a short walk.
Search the address on the web and you'll be able to see its excellent location. Since the flat is in a central neighborhood, it is well connected to public transport to go everywhere and it is well served by a variety of local cafes, great restaurants, supermarkets, and delicatessens/convenience stores. There is a welcoming Italian café for breakfast or lunch only a few steps from the building. For those who relish cooking, a large fresh produce market (Via Cola di Rienzo) is only 5 minutes away on foot.
The apartment was recently completely renovated. Everything is new and neat and, as you can see from the pictures, it is very modern, with high quality furnishings. The first floor has two queen size bedrooms with high quality mattress and air conditioning (one has a fantastic view on St. Peter's Dome), a small living room, a bathroom with shower and a fully equipped eat-in kitchen. The second floor, reachable with a lovely winding staircase, consists of another bedroom with queen size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub that can be used as a shower.
Amenities include: washing machine, coffee/espresso machine, kettle, gas stove with oven, fridge/freezer unit, as well as all the other necessary appliances like iron and ironing board).
The apartment has air conditioning, parquet floors in the two bedrooms and "cotto" pavement in the third bedroom, high Speed Wi-Fi internet connection available 24/7 at no extra cost.
The apartment is very quiet and safe at night too. From the kitchen window you will have the chance to see an authentic 18th century bell tower completely restored with its peculiar bells ringing (but not at night, luckily!) making your stay truly authentic. It is without a doubt the ideal residence for a family or group of six wishing to enjoy either short or long stays.
The building has a small elevator (suitable for only one person with a luggage) and then one last staircase (10-15 stairs) to get to the very last floor of the building.
We welcome your inquiries and questions and we will answer right away! We provide a written guide to both the apartment and the neighborhood, with tips and advice for restaurants, bistros, pubs, grocery stores, supermarkets etc.
The Roman Tourism Tax (3.50€per night per person) is NOT included in the total and has to be paid in cash upon arrival.
Smoking is NOT allowed in the apartment.
Check in is at 2 pm and check out is at 10 am.
Outside of the building you can find 3 bins: the white one is for paper, the blue one is for plastic bottles, glasses and cans, while the third one (black) is for normal waste.
Late check in (after 8 pm) is 30€.
Late check in (after midnight) is 50€
Back in 2012 I gave up a boring job to pursue my lifelong dream of working in the tourism field. I am very lucky to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and my goal is to help travelers worldwide to come and enjoy the Eternal City!
The Vatican area is absolutely fantastic! Full of shops and restaurants, it is the ideal spot to sightsee the city and truly experience the city like a Roman!
Andrea and his kind friend, Luca, were very responsive to our inquiries. Luca even helped us carry our baggage. Unfortunately, we got charged 30 euro for arriving a bit after 8pm as we got lost several times navigating by car through Rome. We loved the views out the windows, charming. Two bathrooms were both nice and had all the amenities you might need (no shampoo though). My kids enjoyed the loft space, stairs not safe for 3 and under. Parking is expensive in this area but definitely doable. Will recommend this place to larger families like ours but encourage packing light as it is literally 6 flights up. :) Safe neighborhood, lots of shopping, restaurants, cafes and markets, close to metro and Vatican.
The property is in a wonderful location. It is well stocked and comfortable. The owner, Andrea, is responsive and a pleasure to work with. Thank you an amazing Italian holiday.
This apartment is in a great location, close to the subway, Vatican, and a very nice big local market. The apartment is on the top floor of the building but there is a small elevator for your use. I would consider staying there again if I return to Rome. Andrea was very good with booking our transportation to and from the airport and tending to our needs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Andrea's apartment. Perfect location a quick walk to the Vatican. There were only 4 of us but it could've comfortably accommodated 2 more. Especially with the 2 bathrooms. Very clean and comfortable. Andrea arranged our transfers to/from the airport which was very helpful. We would definitely stay there again in the future. Thank you Andrea!
5 of us shared this great apartment for a week and we couldn't have made a better choice. It was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, it's quiet at night, and accessed through a lovely courtyard that separates you from the crazy bustle of the Vatican crowds. Location couldn't be beat. We experienced a problem with the hot water in the showers, and the host responded immediately, sending a plumber that same day. Excellent hosts, best choice ever. One improvement possible: please supply a toaster and a cutting board for the kitchen.
We stayed at this lovely apartment for nearly a week over Christmas. The apartment was perfect for my family. It was my wife and I and our son & daughter. My daughter loved the loft bedroom with her own bathroom and my son's room featured a view of St. Peter's dome. Alessandro met us at the airport (highly recommend booking the van through RomeLikeHome) and brought us right to the apartment where Chiara met us and showed us around. The neighborhood is wonderful with groceries, markets, cafes and restaurants in the surrounding blocks. The Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Square are both a 5 minute walk and the Metro stop less than a minute away. We loved the free WiFi in the apartment.
Surprisingly quiet at night and very comfortable beds. The kitchen was compact but well stocked and functional. We even cooked a big Christmas dinner! The Italian espresso maker was the best. We bought some specialty coffee at Castroni right across the street.
Andrea was always accessible by phone or text/email and responded almost immediately any time we had a small question.
We wish we could have stayed longer and look forward to returning.
