Fabulous St. Peter's Apartment

Bedrooms 3
Space 968 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

A spacious, comfortable, secure apartment located in Via Ottaviano

A spacious, comfortable and secure apartment well situated on the last floor of an elegant 19th century building in Via Ottaviano, just a few steps from St. Peter's Cathedral and the Vatican Museum, and, of course, the subway stop 'Ottaviano' which will take you everywhere in the City in a matter of minutes. Just by crossing the nearest Tiber bridge, the most important historical sights of the Eternal City can be reached within a short walk.

Search the address on the web and you'll be able to see its excellent location. Since the flat is in a central neighborhood, it is well connected to public transport to go everywhere and it is well served by a variety of local cafes, great restaurants, supermarkets, and delicatessens/convenience stores. There is a welcoming Italian café for breakfast or lunch only a few steps from the building. For those who relish cooking, a large fresh produce market (Via Cola di Rienzo) is only 5 minutes away on foot.

The apartment was recently completely renovated. Everything is new and neat and, as you can see from the pictures, it is very modern, with high quality furnishings. The first floor has two queen size bedrooms with high quality mattress and air conditioning (one has a fantastic view on St. Peter's Dome), a small living room, a bathroom with shower and a fully equipped eat-in kitchen. The second floor, reachable with a lovely winding staircase, consists of another bedroom with queen size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub that can be used as a shower.

Amenities include: washing machine, coffee/espresso machine, kettle, gas stove with oven, fridge/freezer unit, as well as all the other necessary appliances like iron and ironing board).

The apartment has air conditioning, parquet floors in the two bedrooms and "cotto" pavement in the third bedroom, high Speed Wi-Fi internet connection available 24/7 at no extra cost.

The apartment is very quiet and safe at night too. From the kitchen window you will have the chance to see an authentic 18th century bell tower completely restored with its peculiar bells ringing (but not at night, luckily!) making your stay truly authentic. It is without a doubt the ideal residence for a family or group of six wishing to enjoy either short or long stays.

The building has a small elevator (suitable for only one person with a luggage) and then one last staircase (10-15 stairs) to get to the very last floor of the building.

Smoking is not allowed in the apartment.

Check in is at 2 pm and check out is at 10 am.

The final cleaning fee does not include a change of towels and sheets during the stay.

Should you need one, we can ask for a quote for the extra change.

This is a self-catering apartment, initial toilet paper rolls, shampoo, and soap are provided.

Upon arrival at the apartment, we will show you the nearest supermarket for all your needs.

Oil, salt, and vinegar are not provided but can be found in the apartment depending on the previous guests.

Very clean apartment in an excelente location!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit ever to Europe. Naturally we had to visit Rome. The city is great! This apartment made it very simple to get around the city. It is literally a 2 minute walk from the Metro station, and just a few stops away from the Rome Termini.

There a few things to take in consideration. There are a lot of stairs! There is an elevator, but it is only large enough for one person at a time with one piece of luggage. So it’ll take time to get everyone upstairs if you don’t want to walk up all the stairs. The upstairs bedroom doesn’t have a door. It’s an open concept bedroom. We just assigned it to someone and let her have it. No one else went up, so there was enough privacy. You can’t see anything from downstairs. It’s not a large apartment, but what it doesn’t have in size it makes up for in location, cleanliness, WiFi, and practicality!

So don’t let any of these things deter you! This apartment is awesome! Two full baths and three bedrooms. Excellent views! Andrea made everything simple. His contact was there on time and very professional.

If you are visiting Rome, this is the place to stay!

Location is great!

  • 5 of 5

Five of us stayed here over Easter 2017. The three bedrooms were great, the kitchen has the feel of Italy, and a lot of light poured in the apartment.

I do want to note, for anyone who is concerned about stairs: you do have to go up eight stairs to get to the elevator. Then, once at the top floor that the elevator goes to, there are another 20+ stairs to get to this apartment. Inside the apartment, two bedrooms are on the main level and one bedroom/full bath is one level up, via a spiral staircase. Once up in that bedroom, the bathroom is two steep stairs up. The stair situation is no reason to pass up this great apartment in a fantastic location, I simply mention it in case stairs would be a concern for you (we were traveling with my 73-year old mother-in-law and my 4.5 month pregnant sister-in-law and neither of them complained).

Once you book, I recommend Fonclea bar for live music (with decent veggie burger) and Ted's Burger for when you need a break from pasta and pizza (really good veggie burger and onion rings--ask for bbq sauce on the side for both!)

If you decide to book a Vatican Museum tour, do it through "Get Your Guide", as their meeting point is a small park two blocks from the apartment.

Lastly, Andrea was very attentive throughout the booking and staying process. The apartment guide he provides is very comprehensive and helpful. I would DEFINITELY book this apartment again.

Spacious, clean and excellent location to Vatican and metro

  • 4 of 5

Andrea and his kind friend, Luca, were very responsive to our inquiries. Luca even helped us carry our baggage. Unfortunately, we got charged 30 euro for arriving a bit after 8pm as we got lost several times navigating by car through Rome. We loved the views out the windows, charming. Two bathrooms were both nice and had all the amenities you might need (no shampoo though). My kids enjoyed the loft space, stairs not safe for 3 and under. Parking is expensive in this area but definitely doable. Will recommend this place to larger families like ours but encourage packing light as it is literally 6 flights up. :) Safe neighborhood, lots of shopping, restaurants, cafes and markets, close to metro and Vatican.

Owner's Response: Dear Leslie, thank you so much for your nice review! It has been a real pleasure hosting you and your family in Rome and I wish you all the best for the future! Regarding the late chek in fee (30€ after 8pm), this is clearly written in the house rules that you had to read and accepted prior to arrival. I really hope we'll meet again in the future. Best, Andrea

Great location and Andrea was very attenative to our needs

  • 4 of 5

This apartment is in a great location, close to the subway, Vatican, and a very nice big local market. The apartment is on the top floor of the building but there is a small elevator for your use. I would consider staying there again if I return to Rome. Andrea was very good with booking our transportation to and from the airport and tending to our needs.

Spacious apartment close to Vatican

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Andrea's apartment. Perfect location a quick walk to the Vatican. There were only 4 of us but it could've comfortably accommodated 2 more. Especially with the 2 bathrooms. Very clean and comfortable. Andrea arranged our transfers to/from the airport which was very helpful. We would definitely stay there again in the future. Thank you Andrea!
