Classy, Convenient and Clean!

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,250 sq ft
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 6 nights

About the property

The easiest place you might ever stay.

Beachside2 bedroom/2 bath condo with a refreshing huge pool and private beach steps away.

We have recently renovated and upgraded our home to keep it comfortable and convenient to fit your expectations.

While there a many wonderful restaurants close by, the warm balmy nights invite you to light the candles, heat up the Weber Grill, and enjoy a memorable evening at home creating your own easy meals . Or you can choose to have one of the many restaurants deliver your favorites directly to you to enjoy while you supply with your own beverage of choice. Just log on to and check out the many choices.

CocoLuna is very easy to live at. Unlike most places at The Elements there are no long hallways, stairways or elevators to navigate. You walk out the back door and see there is a large outdoor terrace, private front yard, large well-maintained pool about 25 yards away. Your private beach club is about 75 yards away where Ed at the snack bar makes drinks, pizza ,hamburger.and fries.

Do you like beach walks? .As far as you can walk there will be a cool, white sand beach in front of you.

Does this work for you so far?

This is not a typical rental. You will likely enjoy having DISH TV to watch your favorite shows, your own reliable internet plus the general Elements WiFiI. Cocoluna has one of the only 'real kitchens' at The Elements with very nice appliances including a GE Profile dishwasher, ceiling fans so you can enjoy fresh air during the day and central air you may need to sleep comfortably. There is a laundry room right here for your convenience.

We rarely rent our home except when we plan to travel. We expect that our home will be maintained in our absence. There is a No smoking and No pet policy. The beds were made rather high so you can put your clothes away in the drawers and closets and tuck the luggage under the beds. After all, you don't live out of a suitcase at home and Home is how we hope CocoLuna feels to you.

There is a well equipped gym right here at The Elements. Our condo has lots of towels, bedding, books & DVD's. A mid-week cleaning is included in the price. There is a concierge desk at The Elements plus your own property manager to help arrange airport transfers and tours.

Allow for some luggage room to bring back treasures from downtown which is a 10 minute walk away. Taxis are cheap and very available.

We often kick off our shoes and walk the beach home at night. It is safe and a wonderful way to return to our lovely CocoLuna after dinner with our friends.

And every day we appreciate our lives filled with The Sweetness of Doing unless we are busy with friends, swimming, sailing, snorkeling, enjoying dinner parties and reading, you get the idea.

And then there are all those pesky decisions..pool or beach today?

About Scottie Watson

We are well-traveled retirees who chose to live In Playa del

Carmen because you can swim in the ocean even in January.

Scottie is originally from Minneapols and Jim from Chicago.

We love to sail our Hobie Cat and enjoy getting together with friends for dinners from casual to gourmet!

This is a very easy place to live with a quality lifestyle few places offer.

Scottie Watson purchased this condo in 2008

Why Scottie Watson chose Zazil-ha

We chose The Elements because it is the closest privately held beachfront condo to the city center. We also chose this based on the builder's good reputation. Indeed, it did turn out very well and is I beautifully maintained to keep it the premier property we hoped it would be.

What makes this condo unique

We wanted a poolside condo that had easy-in/easy-out access with no long halls or steps to navigate. We added our own very high end kitchen and beautiful outdoor space since that is where we are most of the time.

The beach club now has a great drink and food service at affordable prices for the use of The Elements and their guests. The two outdoor jacuzzis are also enjoyed by many guests.

Beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 stayed at this condo over the Christmas holiday and had a wonderful time. We were just steps from the very clean pool and just a few more steps from the beach. We had a rental car but other than trips to Mayan ruins and cenotes, we were able to walk to many nearby places to eat and shop. My husband went to a fruiteria for fresh squeezed juice every morning (we really miss that) and pastries on 5th Ave. There is a 7-11 right on the corner if anything is needed in a pinch. There is also a great Italian restaurant just a few steps away. We ate out alot on 5th Ave but also cooked 3 or 4 dinners to eat on the patio overlooking the pool and beach. Thanks for having so much on hand for the meals. I loved having a washer and dryer at our disposal right off the kitchen. There was security and we felt very safe and secure. The beds were awesome! So comfortable! Carla came and spent about an hour talking with us and gave us some really great tips and suggestions as to what we might want to see and do. She's very helpful and friendly and when we just mentioned in passing that we had run out of foil when using the grill, she dropped some by the next day. There was very convenient parking close to the condo and everyone was very friendly and helpful who worked there. We really appreciated the space that we had to spread out as compared to a hotel room as the youngest of our family of 5 is 18. This is our second booking through vrbo and it is so much better than a hotel room! Thank you so much to Scottie and Jim for making your place available for us. The email we recieved with 5 pages of info about the condo and area was a great help too and very much appreciated. The condo is beautiful and we felt right at home. The only way our trip could have been better is if we didn't have to leave and come home to -10F temps!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the great review. People here found you all so interesting. I was hoping it would be a place to enjoy with happy memories as your family is growing up. I understand how quickly they start to go their own way. We appreciate very much the time and effort to write this. I will share it with Carla.

great condo. great location and complex. so so decor.

  • 4 of 5

this was a great space in a great condo complex that boasts a wonderful pool, grounds and fitness studio. the location was a bit off the main commercial corridor, which was a positive except for the 1/2 mile walk home after a late dinner and sunny day at the beach. the only issue with the condo was its decor, which seemed too home-spun and cluttered for a vacation retreat where we would have preferred decor that is more neutral and modern.

Another fabulous stay at Coco Luna! Even better than last year with the new kitchen .

  • 5 of 5

I love coming to your place on my annual trek to Playa. Every year is better than the last. The expanded menu at the beach club made for lazy days at the beach and the great kitchen allowed us to actually make a meal if we so chose. The new configuration in the back bedroom made it even more inviting. Thank you for providing the perfect beach place for a fabulous week in Playa. Can't wait until next time!

Wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing peaceful getaway and Coca Luna was absolutely perfect for us! We love to go out for lunch but stay in and cook on the grill for dinner and this condo was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials. Also the location of the condo is great just steps away from the beautiful pool and beach. Scottie and Jim are gracious hosts and Carla the property manager was so helpful to answer any questions we had about restaurants, spas, etc. It was a great week! It was our first visit to Playa del Carmen and we would definitely go back and hopefully stay at Coca Luna.

The property was very nice, beds were comfortable, clean, but had beach and noise issue

  • 3 of 5

The place itself is very nice with a nice pool. Very nice owners and a very nice property manager who made arrangements for a few tours for us. The problems were nothing to do with the property just the area.

Here were the problems:

1. Very disappointed with the beach, very small beach, lots of seaweed, and since the beach is public and there was shade on the public part of the beach due to our Tiki huts we had Mexican families sitting at my feet as we were a step up and there was a ledge of sand. Not very comfortable although there were not loud but you felt like your space was invaded.

2.This was the big issue: A little way down the beach was a resort with a DJ playing music. Every day from around 11:30 AM on all I heard was a thumping bass beat. Very annoying and ruined the beach for me. One day toward the end of the week (Thursday) the music and bass beat was so loud that I went to the front desk to complain. The next day the music was very turned down. We actually inquired to get a day pass from the resort past the beach bar restaurant and around the corner. It was $50 a day with breakfast, lunch, beach chairs included as they are an all inclusive resort. Much bigger and better beach here but can't swim in front of this area as it is the boat docking area. Also many boats leaving from our area of the beach and needed to go down to the right to swim as the water was a little nicer and no boats nearby.

3. On Friday night the beach bar close to the condo had very very loud thumping music till 2 AM. The people in the bedroom facing the pool could not sleep until it stopped I did not hear the music in the back bedroom though. However this beach bar had great fresh food! Recommend it for lunch or dinner. Very casual, outdoors facing the ocean. Eat here and not at The Elements beach as their food is just frozen food warmed up.

4. Some good things-most restaurants on 5th Ave. and on the side streets were good, peso exchange was very good so got a lot for your money. Short walk to 5th ave. We were at one end of 5th Ave. so to walk to the other end could take about 1/2 hour. Las Casa del Agua on 5th Ave and around 2nd street was great! Fine dining but still cost $50 a person with wine, appetizer (shared),dessert (shared) and tip. Great price for the service and the great food!
