Why Jeanine Farrell chose Minneapolis

Located close to Minneapolis' famous chain of lakes, Uptown, and just a few blocks from the Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway, one of the country's longest continuous systems of public urban parkways.

Lake Harriet is just around the corner, connected to a peaceful bird and wildlife sanctuary and a beautiful rose garden. The neighborhood boasts an impressive range of world restaurants- Spanish, Cuban, Vietnamese, Mexican, Asian, Middle Eastern and Malaysian cuisines. We are a mile from Eat Street, an international smorgasbord of restaurants.

A 20 minute walk to Uptown which has great shopping, art movie houses, and terraces with great happy hours. We live near 5 Farmer's Markets- and not too far from the Saint Paul one! Two personal trainers -Thai Body Work and Pilates -live down our street, they're wonderful! There are a handful of trusted babysitters ready at a moment's notice. KingField borders fabulous Linden Hills, a charming small shops 'village' on the other side of Lake Harriet, Lyn/Lake, another great urban gem full of dozens of innovative restaurants, comedy/improv club and movie theaters; Eat Street, the name speaks for itself, is a handful of blocks north from your apartment. Uptown, offers all of the above. Aforementioned Grand Rounds bike path leads you to the Mississippi river, our unique Minnehaha waterfall fed by fast moving Minnehaha creek- all complemented by more restaurants!

What makes this apartment unique

Our duplex has so many large yet comfortable rooms! Four finished cozy porches, bay windows that overlook front and back yards, plenty of built ins and closets, multiple work spaces, and a lovely landscaped front/back yard.

Comfortable & Serene

  • 5 of 5

This was the most lovely, clean, quiet & comfortable vacation rentals in my experience. We were there in a transitional time of year, so when it became chilly in the evening, Jeanine was quickly attentive to attending to increasing the hot water heat. We could not have been happier and my husband and I hope to return

Great location, great hosts, great sunroom!

  • 4 of 5

Thank you, Jeanine and John, for sharing your lovely Kingfield home with us for the weekend. I had forgotten that your upstairs apartment has two bedrooms and can easily accommodate a family of four or two couples. Your pride of ownership is evident in all of the little features that gives your apartment a true feeling of a home-away-from-home. Staying at your place gave us a sense of living in an authentic Minnesota home. Our favorite room was the sunroom behind the kitchen: very bright, warm, and cozy. Your Kingfield neighborhood is delightful - close to the lakes and just far enough from downtown to escape the noise and hustle but not too far from all those great Minneapolis restaurants! Thanks again.

Very nice place in a really nice neighborhood just a few minutes from either downtown or the big lakes just a few blocks to the West. Beautiful lakes ! We came and went as we pleased and had no issues at all. Host and hostess were very pleasant and welcoming ! Very Good beds (very important) with a nice kitchen, living room and a great back porch for morning coffee. Would highly recommend it !

Lovely Apartment, great location!

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful 100+ year home in a lovely walkable neighborhood. Easy street parking. Great parks, restaurants & coffee nearby.

Apartment well appointed. Nice amount of space: 2 spacious bedrooms, dining room, eat-in kitchen, living room, and bonus porch/office/sitting area. Outside space is small, but private. Option of private back door or shared front entrance.

Lovely hosts, very accommodating and responsive.

Owner's Response: so glad you enjoyed your stay at our home, it must have been difficult to relax, having 2 young toddlers in an unfamiliar place! Hope the portacrib, high chair, toys and new t.v. kept them happy at least some of the time!

Great accommodation in a lovely location - ideal if you want to relax and enjoy the lakes area

  • 4 of 5

This was one of the nicest rental properties that I have stayed in anywhere - it was full of character. The decor is lovely with lots of little extras in terms of lights and nice furnishings.

There was plenty of room for our party of five. The property was well equipped with everything that you could possibly want or need. In addition, there was lots of local maps and information, as well as books and board games. We spent a few mornings playing scrabble with our daughter which was really relaxing and a nice change from all of the electronics.

The local area has lots of little shops, coffee shops and restaurants catering for all tastes. The Lake Harriet area is very scenic.

One of our most relaxing breaks.

Notes:
Minneapolis and Saint Paul are THE tourist destination many people are discovering! We are surrounded by water ways of all kinds- lakes, rivers, creeks, waterfalls-and that's just within our city limits! Rock climbing- indoors and out, historic paddleboat rides along the river and inside the lock and dam, amazing urban hikes along the river, and the country's most extensive park system. Must boast about our proximity to the MOA- yes, the world's largest shopping experience, soon to be doubled in size! We are surrounded by small, intimate restaurants, boutiques, wine bars and coffeeshops, and there are 5 farmer's markets within a few miles!
