This cabin was a jewel!
We had a great time exploring the surrounding area and coming back to such a nice cabin for the evening was awesome!!!
We enjoyed our stay here. It accommodated our family of 7 comfortably enough, though I think it is more suited for a group of 4-6 at the most. We have two teenage boys and they aren't terribly picky about how or where they sleep anyway. The cabin was cute and cozy. My 3 year old loved all the stuffed animals and books. The aforementioned teenage boys loved the reliable internet. We liked staying on the quiet side of things, away from Gatlinburg busy-ness. The drive to Gatlinburg was enjoyable. About 25-30 minutes down a lovely road. We simply loved hiking here at the Cosby entrance to Smokey Mountains National Park much better than we have in Gatlinburg. So much less crowded and the trails were gorgeous. The burn damage from the fire of November 2016 wasn't as much as we feared (not to down play it at ALL, I know people lost lives and much property was damaged) however I expected to see way more damage than I saw. Most of the area we were familiar with appeared intact with quick restoration already underway on damaged and destroyed things. Thanks for a nice and affordable place to stay!!
We traveled all the way from Nebraska and all the winding roads on the way to this little gem in the woods were well worth the effort. Even the long one lane driveway and the unpaved entrance to the cabin helped make it unique and fun. This was a great stay for us. We really felt at home the first evening. There were just two of us but could have had room for two more couples. Everything was clean and useable including a fast internet connection, microwave, stove and ice trays in the Fridge. The Hot tub was a great way to wind down and relax after hiking all day. There are neighbors but it was so quiet at night you could hear the brook from the front deck. We stayed four days and didn't spend a dime on the rest of our stay except for gas to get around the parks as we were able to prepare meals and pack picnic lunches in the cabin. Really enjoyed the personal touch that was put into decorating inside and out (like the pillows on all the benches and chairs outside) .
The Parks! Amazing hiking and sight seeing! Ran into one Black Bear on a hike near The Cosby Picnic area on our last day. He posed no threat so we took a picture and moved on. If you haven't seen the Smokies in the Fall you haven't seen the fall!
Thanks for a Great Stay!
We had a wonderful time at Bearfoot. Everything was clean and ready for our stay. The property was exactly as we expected. Thanks for sharing the cabin with us. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a great stay! Cabin was clean, as described in listing, and was also easier to access than other mountain cabins we have visited as ther oad to the cabin was paved. The location was was beautiful and quiet with a nice little stream in back. My hubby and kids even saw some crawfish in there! My kids were in hog heaven playing board games that were provided by the owner for guests when we came back in the evenings after our outings. Definitely would book again!
We loved the cabin. It was very peaceful there. The kids played in the creek and they enjoyed the hot tub. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who is planning a trip to Tennessee. Debbie was very nice and very helpful when I had any questions. It is only about a half hour from Gatlinburg. If we come back to Tennessee for vacation I will definitely be booking this cabin again.
