One of the best benefits of this property is that it's in a quiet, residential neighborhood yet just one block from all of the action of NW Portland, and a short streetcar ride (or walk) to the Pearl District and Downtown!
If you like to walk and explore, this is such a lovely neighborhood in which to do that. No car is necessary for your stay here. (Please see note about parking below.)
The streetcar and bus stops are 1 1/2 blocks from the house at 23rd and Marshall. The MAX lightrail lines to and from the airport are downtown and can be reached via the streetcar, bus, or cab.
* outdoor patio and sitting area
* free WiFi
*fully equipped kitchen
*pillow top queen sized mattress
*2 blocks from streetcar
While here explore our Historic Alphabet District or jump the streetcar for a dozen blocks to Portland’s trend setting Pearl District. If you’d like to see the city on two wheels Portland is very “bicycle friendly” offering continuous bike lanes including a wonderful ride around the Willamette Riverfront. If you’re interested in local hiking Portland hosts a 5,000 acre old-growth canopy of fir trees called Forest Park. Consider a visit to our Japanese Gardens, Chinese Gardens, Rose Gardens at Washington Park or The Portland Zoo and Arboretum all just minutes away. With easy access to major highways plan a day trip to our local wine country, Mt Hood, Oregon Coast or the Columbia River Gorge.
**NOTE: This location is accessible from Portland’s train station or airport via MAX line and street trolley. We are in a permitted parking neighborhood.
Parking on our street is restricted to 4-hour intervals during the hours of 9am-7pm Monday thru Saturday. If you choose to have a car during your stay, we can supply you with ONE parking permit per every 3 days you are staying. Unrestricted, free parking is available 2 blocks from the house.

About Julie Hoffman
I moved here 20 years ago following a visit where I fell in love with Portland's 'not so big' size and European feel. My business partner is native to the area and shares my feelings about the city's energy and diversity.
Julie Hoffman purchased this Apartment in 1997
Why Julie Hoffman chose Northwest District
Not unlike as it was in the early 1900's showing its prosperity, our NW neighborhood has seen a revival spurred on by gentrification. As such, we have renovated this Historic Beauty over the past 15 years trying to keep the original circa 1900 feel. In the backyard, the setting is tranquil with a great soft-scaped patio space.
What makes this Apartment unique
As good as it gets; just a block off NW 23rd Avenue where you’ll find boutiques, local shops, well-known stores, antiques and galleries, European Bakeries, brew pubs, coffee shops and fabulous restaurants! I love the history of the building and how the turn-of-the-century character has been preserved in its details. A lovely, private patio to relax or dine al fresco on is just steps outside the front door.

Excellent hidden gem in the heart of Portland
This place was brilliant in every way. Starting with the communication with the host, the cleanliness of the property, the finishing, amenities and the location!
When you come form so far, it is so heartening to have such a wonderful place to stay and explore the city.
It was so bear the happening 23 NW Avenue and really just a short ride to almost all the places in the city.
I recommend this place to anyone visiting Portland!
Nice and clean unit that's part of a large home, quiet neighborhood, very short walk to Nob Hill restaurants and shops, nice central location for quick Uber ride to other areas of town. Owner was responsive.
Loved our accommodation and neighbourhood!
My husband and I spent 4 nights in Portland. Our accommodation was great. So organized and easy to settle right in then explore the surrounding neighbourhoods right outside your door! Julie is very easy to contact, if you have questions. During our stay, we saw two NBA basketball games at the Moda Center (we walked both ways - about 35 minutes each way). Fans are great! We explored many areas of Portland and loved all of them, walking and stopping for lunch along the way. We walked to the Pittock Mansion on one of our walks. Good family story there and beautiful character neighbourhoods to walk through - big views too! We drove south one day to the Woodburn Outlet Mall then returned to Portland driving through wine country. We stopped at both Ponzi Estates and Cooper Mountain vineyards for tastings. A very enjoyable day. Wherever you get to in Portland, the people are all very friendly. We will definitely return to Portland....many more things to do, see and restaurants/craft breweries to eat at. Thanks again Julie.
Spent three months here! What a wonderful place to spend the winter! Out of the cold and snow and a great place in a very central location. So close to so many wonderful restaurants and shops on 23rd! Love it!
A great spot for a little getaway.
The apartment in Nob Hill was a good little base for a little cycling, hiking and exploring. It was clean and comfortable. Julie was easy to communicate with and very prompt to reply to messages. Thank you!
I recently stayed 3 nights in Portland. You couldn't ask for a better location! It is within easy walking distance to numerous shops and restaurants. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well appointed, just perfect for my visit. Thank you Julie!
Stroll NW 23rd Ave and enjoy the myriad of restaurants, cafes, local breweries, and stores that start just one block away. Downtown and the Pearl District can be reached by the streetcar or by foot.
During the months of March through December on Saturday mornings, you can go to the Portland Farmers Market where you'll find fresh organic fruits, vegetables, and homemade breads and condiments. There's music and food trucks and a lovely setting in the South Park Blocks of downtown by the PSU campus.
You can get to the ModaCenter, Portland's sports arena and largest music venue, and to the Convention Center on the east side by streetcar as well. Washington Park with the Japanese Gardens and the Rose Garden is also within walking distance.
If you have a car, you can get to the beautiful Columbia River Gorge to see Multnomah Falls and/or Vista Point or take a hike on one of the many trails located in the Gorge within 40 minutes. Or drive west to the Oregon coast in an hour and a half where you'll find even more breathtaking hikes and the dramatic splendor of the Pacific coast.
