Lovely and well-appointed

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable, good location, good equipment, private garden. Equipment and utilities all in good working order. Very clean.

Room could use a blanket-- it was very cold at night. My roommate had troubles with getting the Internet. A large frying pan would be nice.

All in all a great place and we'd stay here again.

This casita has so much style and thoughtful artwork. It was very comfortable and attractive. We enjoyed our stay emmensely and we loved the easy drive to Balandra, our favorite beach. We highly recommend this lovely casita!

A wonderful place for two people

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent six nights at La Casita. It is small, but has plenty of space for two people. A room this size in a hotel would qualify as a luxury suite. La Casita is very nicely decorated and quite attractive. The bed is very comfortable, although a bit shorter than the U.S. average (which is the norm for Mexico). There were plenty of towels, including two beach towels, and plenty of storage and closet space.

Every thing was extremely clean and in good working order. There were lots of dishes and cookware. There is a four burner cook top, but no oven (although there is a toaster oven). There is also a blender for making those morning papaya smoothies or that evening margarita(s). (FYI, there is a liquor store a across the street). There were a few food items waiting for us in the in the fridge (milk, juice), and some basic cooking supplies like salt and vinegar.

The house is located five blocks from the malecon, near the south end. It turned out to be a little further than we wanted from some of the restaurants we most liked (Bismarcito, Zoe, Nim, La Miserable mezcalera), but really everything is in walking distance. It is four blocks from the Mercado Bravo, which is definitely worth a trip. It is also two blocks from a very good Mexican restaurant, Los Magueyes. And if you don't want to walk, driving and navigating are fairly easy, as the city is laid out on a grid. Just be aware that stop signs are only a suggestion in La Paz!

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay in La Casita, and would definitely stay there again.

Centric and beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautifully furnished and located near the malecón, near restaurants and shops. It's really quiet and confortable, with a nice terrace to dine when the heat is gone. I would definitely stay there again.

An Oasis in the City

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing cottage. Set back from the road makes it quiet and comfortable to sit out on the shade covered garden patio. The cottage's interior is cool, both in style ( where the owner has an eye for detail) and temperature (with air conditioning for the summer). This lovely cottage is laid out very well with an open floor plan: complete kitchen and modest living room. The bedroom's pièce de résistance is the cupola above the bed that has small vents which can be opened for more air-flow. Even the bathroom is stylish. Upon our arrival we found basics like milk and juice in the fridge which was great because we arrived late. My husband and I didn't have a mobile that worked in Mexico, so the owner provided us with one. At the end of our stay we asked about the cost, and she said the cell was a community phone, and if we wanted to contribute some pesos it would be great! I had a dental emergency and the owner not only suggested a GREAT dentist, but made the appointment for me because of her fluency in Spanish. (She also speaks English and Italian!) The cottage is close to the City Center, the water (Malecón), grocery markets, and nice restaurants. A car is not necessary, but nice to have for grocery shopping or heading out toward Ballandra Bay or Pichelingue. This is the perfect cottage for 1 or 2 people.
