About Karen Vaillancourt
Our home is Victoria BC. I am an artist and have some paintings in our Casa! My husband Dave is self employed. We call Loreto Bay 'our Paradise' and hope you feel that way too!!
Karen Vaillancourt purchased this House in 2008
Why Karen Vaillancourt chose Loreto Municipality
We fell in in love with Loreto the minute we saw this 'Soul stirringly Beautiful' place, a place we hope to retire to, the community feel is amazing, and you feel like you are part of a huge family. The Baja is a safe and beautiful place to be, and the town of Loreto is quite simply Charming. The Golf course is in a beautiful setting, snorkelling is at your doorstep, as is kayaking and paddle boarding/
What makes this House unique
We wanted a Casa Bohemia because it afforded us more space, when you walk through the door and hear the fountain, it feels like Mexico and feels like home. We chose our location for a home because of it's proximity to EVERYTHING, we are a few minutes from the beach, the pools, the golf course, restaurants and a minute to the grocery store, the hotel and entertainment. It is nice to be in the central area, a very short walk to everything Loreto Bay has to offer. We love to be able to sit on our roof top and see the Sierra Giganta Mountains, and the golf course.

Was a great location; quite close to pools, a restaurant very close by. Quiet area.
The unit was fully equipped with most kitchen items (aside from oven mitts); there were lots of dishes and utensils, etc. The dishwasher maybe could be updated as it didn’t do a great job on the dishes. Lots of linens and towels. Could use a few light blankets as we found the covers provided on the (warm) heavy side.
All in all we had a wonderful stay here and would definitely consider renting this unit again.
family time in Loreto Bay
We had an excellent time in Loreto Bay. It was our first time visiting Loreto and it may be our new favorite Mexico spot! Karen and the property manager, Dahir, were both kind, responsive, and accommodating towards us. There were 5 of us and we had plenty of space. We loved sleeping upstairs with the doors open at night and most nights one of the kids slept outside in the hammock we brought. The climate in Loreto was perfect, we felt very safe, and loved that Loreto Bay felt much more like a community than a resort. There are several fun restaurants and a cafe in easy walking distance. The beach and pools were all easy to walk to as well. The kids loved having the bikes to get back and forth from our friends condo. We were in 4 different condos and I thought Karen's was the best (well stocked, nicely decorated, good lay out, and close to everything). I am guessing that we will be back at some point and would absolutely stay in Karen's place again!
Lovely Loreto Bay
This lovely Casa in Loreto Bay absolutely met all of our expectations. It easily accomodates two couples on two very private levels. Perfectly located within a short stroll to two pools, beach and neighbourhood restaurants. The Casa itself shows beautifully with many personal touches which is evident of Karen’s artistic talents. The community is friendly, safe and beautifully maintained. If you seek adventurous outings, you will need to rent a vehicle. We only did so twice to load up on groceries, dinner and an excursion into the mountains. We befriended a local fellow who was more than helpful with arranging a Hertz rental delivered directly as well as being returned right at Loreto Bay. Bonus!
I can’t say enough positive things about Karen. Right from my initial contact she was a wealth of information and genuinely cares for your experience at her property.
Sun deprived Canadians
Great location, very well equipped and all kinds of room for both couples.
Our villa was super we had all the items we needed for our stay pool, kitchen well-equipped,
comfortable beds & very quiet. Close to the pool was an added bonus as our grandson & daughter stayed with us.
Plus the mini-mart & restaurants were close by.
Relaxing, rejuvenating and wonderful
My husband and I stayed here for 6 weeks and had a very hard time leaving! From our initial contact with the owner, Karen, to her ensuring we had received our damage deposit after our visit, she was great to work with and answered our many questions, providing lots of information. The home was well furnished with very comfortable beds and lovely linens, the kitchen had everything you needed to cook delicious meals and the whole place was incredibly clean. The colours, furnishings and accessories were lovely, showcasing Mexico's vibrancy. When we first arrived, the property manager opened the front door and we both said "Wow!". The door opens into a welcoming, calm courtyard, tranquil with plants and the sounds of the fountain. We loved the openness of the home, with windows and doors opening to the courtyard. The home was very private, especially on the main floor. The upstairs desk is huge and both sun and shade are easily found. Although it was just the two of us, it would have worked well for two couples with two master suites/ensuites and private space for all. We enjoyed Loreto Bay's beach, its coffee house, wine bar (quite a few times!), zumba classes, tennis courts, lap pool, fitness classes, yoga, and Jennifer's restaurant right across from the unit with some of the best fish tacos we've ever had...and we've had eaten many! A real community here and there is always something going on. The grounds were beautiful with tropical plants and flowers. Staff were helpful and friendly. We did have some issues with the internet being down for a few days, (not just us but the area) but both Karen and the onsite manager, Dahir, were quickly responsive. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Karen for sharing your home.
There is kayak rentals on the beach which is a 3 minute walk from our home. A must see is a boat trip to Coronado Island, a beautiful unspoiled marine park. Of course whale watching is a must. Also fishing, you can rent boats in town for a very reasonable price.
