About Harold or Sheila Honeycutt
Harold and I have been married 39 years we raised 4 kids. We love to spend time with family & Friends every chance we get. We live in Florida full time but escape to the mountains every chance we get!
Harold or Sheila Honeycutt purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Harold or Sheila Honeycutt chose Murphy
We have owned several properties in Murphy NC over the past 15 years. We decided to purchase this home because we loved the location and the secluded feeling. Just up the hill in Hideaway Hills are amazing views! Every piece of wood in this house came from this mountain ridge! The people that live year round on this ridge are incredibly friendly and very helpful in any way they are able to help.
What makes this Cabin unique
The road to this home is owned by the forestry department and is very easy to drive on. No sharp corners or steep driveways to worry about here. This property is flat! The kids can play in the front yard, we enjoyed swimming in the Lake within walking distance from this house.

Beautiful cabin and location.
Sheila and Harold were wonderful, quick responses to questions I had. We had a fantastic Thanksgiving week at the cabin. Will recommend to anyone to stay
We are so glad you enjoyed our mountain home! Thank you for staying, we hope to have you again!
View wasn’t there
Our biggest disappointment was the pictures of the view were not made from the cabin but a mile or so up the road. We thought we would be able to sit on the deck and enjoy the view. Also, we killed two scorpions in the basement. Seating was not comfortable and there were no lamps in living area. Had to have overhead lights on all evening.
Thank you for your review. The description states the views are through the gates at hideaway hills. Also the scorpions are like the insects we have in Florida. The live in the mountains. We have pest control, which is not pest elimination. You didn’t mention anything you liked about this beautiful home! It’s gorgeous, well stocked, comfortable beds, and very clean! Sorry you weren’t happy with your accommodations.
Very well maintained and very clean.
We have stayed in several cabins and homes in Bear Paw and this is our top choice. Owners are very welcoming and provide all the information for a comforting stay.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! You guys are welcomed back anytime 😊
Beautiful house in the mountains
My family and my daughters family go on vacation yearly together. We stayed in Murphy July 1st-July 8th. We had a total of 4 adults and 3 kids under the age of 9. We had lots of room and loved the layout. All the adults had their own area as well as the kids. The owner was great and we wanted for nothing, very well maintained and stocked. It is pretty isolated, and about 20 minutes to get to walmart, so we knew we would stop on our way up. The town of Murphy is old, but quaint. Internet comes and goes, but I loved when the kids had to unplug and enjoy each other. The lake is within walking distance, and the kids enjoyed collecting rock for our kindness rock project. We did go to Chattanooga for a day and night and also to Helen Georgia to tube in the river. All in all we had a great time . Direct tv went out and turned out lightening hit and fried the tv. The owner was notified and we had a new box delivered from direct tv and a brand new tv purchased and delivered.
I cannot say enough about our stay and the house we rented. If you are looking for a quiet, isolated beautiful house in the mountains of NC but close enough to visit Tennessee and Georgia, this is the place for you! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Harold and I are so glad you enjoyed this beautiful and peaceful area! When I called Frontier regarding the internet speed I was told it is the best for the area. But we also like to unplug when we visit the area. Our grand kids find the games and outdoors a new way to occupy their time! We hope you come back to visit again! The smokey mountain train ride is also a worthwhile ride!

A Fantastic Family New Year Celebration
This property was the perfect size for our family. All the adults had their own space and the children enjoyed the open basement room. It was clean, well stocked and generous with supplies. The beds were comfortable. There was enough seating for everyone. We would love to spend some more time in this lovely home, maybe when temps are a little more conducive to more outdoor activities.
Please do come back! Spring, summer and fall are beautiful in the smokie mountains!
Nice place to relax, I extremely recommended.
So glad you enjoyed your stay! Happy New Year 🎉
