About the property

5 Bedroom/3.5 Bath, Outdoor Kitchen, 5 Minute Walk to Beach, Pool & Shops!

This amazing, beautifully furnished home is located just steps away from the 12,000 square foot lagoon pool at Seacrest Beach and fewer than 500 yards from a deeded beach access. Its layout is conducive to entertaining and features plenty of room for guests. The kitchen, living and dining room areas are open to one another with a beautiful new tile floor that looks like hardwood. The living and dining rooms have convenient access to the covered deck with an outdoor kitchen that features not only a built-in grill, but a double basin sink, refrigerator and stainless steel counter with plenty of cabinets. There is also a new outdoor dining set that seats six.

The kitchen features granite counters, stainless steel appliances that include a separate ice maker and gas range, as well as a breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully stocked with a brand new side by side door refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, griddle, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. A laundry room with full size washer and dryer units is located just off the kitchen and features access to the back of the home and driveway where an outdoor shower is located for easy clean up after a fun day at the beach. The family room located right off the kitchen has two new, comfy Pottery Barn couches, two new wicker chairs and large, new, flat screen TV. There are double doors that lead to the back, private covered deck. Tile floors that look like hardwood carry throughout the main living areas. In the breakfast nook, is a large custom built dining table with an “L” shaped bench with plenty of seating for ten.

When you walk through the front door, there is an open foyer with a powder room and a hall closet. The first of two master bedrooms is conveniently located on the main level floor. It features hardwood floors, a king size bed, large walk-in closet as well as a private bath with a jetted tub.

There are three additional bedrooms on the second floor, one of which is the grand, master suite which is separated from the other two bedrooms by a hallway. There is a king size bed, new flat screen TV, a large walk-in closet as well as a private, covered deck. A comfy four piece conversation patio set is the perfect place to relax on the covered deck. In the master bath is a Jacuzzi tub, separate tiled shower, a double vanity and breakfast bar with mini fridge and coffee maker. There is plenty of cabinet space for towels and other linens. Down the hall, also on the second floor, are two additional bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two twin beds both with large closets and new TVs. There is shared bathroom in the hallway with a double sink and separate room for the shower and toilet.

The third-floor loft features a twin bed with trundle and provides a perfect place to lounge around and relax. This is a great place for kids to hang out, play games or watch TV. There are two sun decks off the loft, one of which faces north and the other west to capture sunsets. The one sun deck has two new lounge chairs with ottomans and a side table and a bistro set on the other sun deck. Both sets of double doors to the sun decks were replaced this past August.

Seacrest Beach is ideally located between Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach, placing plenty of shopping, dining and entertainment options within easy reach. Convenient tram service is provided during the summer and early fall months to the nearby deeded beach access.

• New tile floor that looks like hardwood on first floor kitchen, living and dining rooms.

• New, large, custom built dining table with “L” shaped bench and seating for ten.

• New refrigerator with filtered water/ice dispenser on door.

• New outdoor dining set with a large rectangle table that seats six.

• New four piece outdoor conversation patio set for the deck off the second floor master bedroom.

• New outdoor bistro set on the back deck.

• New, flat screen TV's in all the bedrooms, loft and family room with DIRECTV and DVR capability.

• New carpeting in second and third floor bedrooms.

About Suzanne and Ken Ross

Ken and I are both originally from the north…Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Hence, the house name “Sand In Your Sox”…our dog is even named Fenway! Growing up in New England, we spent many vacations on the beaches of Cape Cod and Narragansett. We moved to the Atlanta area in 2006 but still managed to take our three kids to the beach for vacations. Our family has vacationed in Seacrest for the past three years. We absolutely love the area of 30A and all it has to offer and we enjoyed the area more with each visit.

When we decided to purchase a vacation home, the Seacrest community made perfect sense. Vacationing in Seacrest, is like going back in time. The kids are safe to ride their bikes, walk to shops, play on the beach or at the pool. We love being able to walk to the shops and restaurants in Rosemary or hang out at Peddler’s Pavilion in Seacrest (a two minute walk from the house). Our 'must visit' restaurants are George's at Alys Beach, La Cocina in Peddler’s Pavilion, Wild Olive, Cowgirl Kitchen and La Crema in Rosemary. Our children love the Sugar Shack, The Sweet Peddler, Orange Leaf (yogurt) and Charlie's Donut Truck. With all this eating, it's nice to get up in the morning and walk or bike the wonderful trail along 30A and take some time to explore the beautiful homes along the way. Seacrest is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family.

Suzanne and Ken Ross purchased this house in 2014

Why Suzanne and Ken Ross chose Beaches of South Walton

While on Spring Break in 2014, my daughters and I were staying down the street when we rode by this home. My older daughter said, “I love all the decks and the color of the house”! I noticed that it was for sale. It was definitely one of those moments where you are in the right place at the right time. We were thrilled to purchase this home. The location which is on a quiet side street at the front of the neighborhood is wonderful. You can easily walk or ride bikes to shops, restaurants, beaches and the neighborhood pool.

If you have rented this home before, it was called Catching Some Zz’s.

What makes this house unique

Of course, we love the location of the home at the front of the neighborhood…close to everything! There are many things we love about this home. The layout of the home is different than the typical homes in Seacrest which tend to be a long narrow house with sequential rooms and no hallway. Our house sits sideways on the lot and when you walk into the home there is actually a foyer with a closet and powder room. There is a wooded lot behind the house. The front of the house looks down a quiet side street.

The two master bedrooms, one on the first floor and one on the second floor makes the home perfect for two families to vacation together. The house is large enough to give families the space they need but the home also offers great areas to gather as a group. On our last trip to the house, my son brought his guitar and we hung out in the family and dining room singing and listening to him play.

The first floor master bedroom is off to one side of the house while the kitchen, family and dining rooms are on the other side of the house. There are five decks…three of them covered and the two on the third floor are sun decks. There is a huge covered deck on the side of the house that wraps around to the back of the house. This is where the outdoor kitchen and dining set are located, our favorite "room" in the house. The second floor master suite is huge with its own private deck. And over Labor Day weekend, we watched fireworks from the two sun decks on the third floor.

I fell in love with the kitchen's granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and gas stove. There is also a separate ice maker which is a must when vacationing at the beach. Off the kitchen is the laundry room with a door to the backyard and outdoor shower. Also unique to the home is a private driveway with parking for two cars and plenty of parking in front of the house. Many other homes in Seacrest don't offer a private driveway.

PEREFECT for our stay!

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic house. Stocked with everything we needed. The layout was perfect for our stay. There was plenty of room for gathering - sharing food, friendship and even some acoustic music! We travel as a group of friends often and everyone commented about how the two master suites and the distribution of the bedrooms gave us personal space when we needed to rest or relax. And oh - that outdoor kitchen. The communication about our stay was outstanding. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

Excellent place to stay in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

Large, plenty of amenities, slept our large family of 5 and inlaws with ease! Amenities were great, lots of supplies that lightened our load for traveling. Outdoor patio with long built-in grille/sink/cabinets was a great feature. Small walk to neighborhood pool and to Seacrest restaurants, stores and bike shop. Owners were very responsive and great to work with.

Perfect wedding

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented Sand in your Sox for our accommodations during our wedding weekend. The property is absolutely perfect in every way and the surrounding area installs a sense of "home" that is rarely acquired in Florida. From the get go, the owner was very accommodating and helpful, even taking time out of her day to make sure we had everything we needed. With all the rat race that is associated with a destination wedding, the house and the owners were the one aspect that flowed flawlessly. I can speak for everyone that stayed in the house with us and say that it comes highly recommended from us! The house, the owners, the decor, the neighborhood, distance from the beach, the local amenities, and the overall experience were all well above our expectations . We will be back and we will stay at Sand in your Sox!

Very nice house and area. The only complaint was with the satellite, could not have more than 3 tv's on at once.

Owner's Response: Glad you liked the house and area. We just recently switched to DirecTV because the cable company was unreliable. There are 6 TVs in the house and we upgraded the receivers so you are now able to watch all six TVs at the same time.

We loved our visit!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at "Sand in your Sox!" The house was very clean and was a terrific location in Seacrest Beach. Short walk or tram ride to the beach, step from the pool and a few minute walk to the shops and food. We would definitely stay here again. The owner Suzanne was excellent to work with and we appreciated all of her time and effort in helping us be as comfortable as possible!
