About Suzanne and Ken Ross
Ken and I are both originally from the north…Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Hence, the house name “Sand In Your Sox”…our dog is even named Fenway! Growing up in New England, we spent many vacations on the beaches of Cape Cod and Narragansett. We moved to the Atlanta area in 2006 but still managed to take our three kids to the beach for vacations. Our family has vacationed in Seacrest for the past three years. We absolutely love the area of 30A and all it has to offer and we enjoyed the area more with each visit. When we decided to purchase a vacation home, the Seacrest community made perfect sense. Vacationing in Seacrest, is like going back in time. The kids are safe to ride their bikes, walk to shops, play on the beach or at the pool. We love being able to walk to the shops and restaurants in Rosemary or hang out at Peddler’s Pavilion in Seacrest (a two minute walk from the house). Our 'must visit' restaurants are George's at Alys Beach, La Cocina in Peddler’s Pavilion, Wild Olive, Cowgirl Kitchen and La Crema in Rosemary. Our children love the Sugar Shack, The Sweet Peddler, Orange Leaf (yogurt) and Charlie's Donut Truck. With all this eating, it's nice to get up in the morning and walk or bike the wonderful trail along 30A and take some time to explore the beautiful homes along the way. Seacrest is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family.
Suzanne and Ken Ross purchased this House in 2014
Why Suzanne and Ken Ross chose West Panama City Beach
While on Spring Break in 2014, my daughters and I were staying down the street when we rode by this home. My older daughter said, “I love all the decks and the color of the house”! I noticed that it was for sale. It was definitely one of those moments where you are in the right place at the right time. We were thrilled to purchase this home. The location which is on a quiet side street at the front of the neighborhood is wonderful. You can easily walk or ride bikes to shops, restaurants, beaches and the neighborhood pool. If you have rented this home before, it was called Catching Some Zz’s.
What makes this House unique
Of course, we love the location of the home at the front of the neighborhood…close to everything! There are many things we love about this home. The layout of the home is different than the typical homes in Seacrest which tend to be a long narrow house with sequential rooms and no hallway. Our house sits sideways on the lot and when you walk into the home there is actually a foyer with a closet and powder room. There is a wooded lot behind the house. The front of the house looks down a quiet side street. The two master bedrooms, one on the first floor and one on the second floor makes the home perfect for two families to vacation together. The house is large enough to give families the space they need but the home also offers great areas to gather as a group. On our last trip to the house, my son brought his guitar and we hung out in the family and dining room singing and listening to him play. The first floor master bedroom is off to one side of the house while the kitchen, family and dining rooms are on the other side of the house. There are five decks…three of them covered and the two on the third floor are sun decks. There is a huge covered deck on the side of the house that wraps around to the back of the house. This is where the outdoor kitchen and dining set are located, our favorite "room" in the house. The second floor master suite is huge with its own private deck. And over Labor Day weekend, we watched fireworks from the two sun decks on the third floor. I fell in love with the kitchen's granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and gas stove. There is also a separate ice maker which is a must when vacationing at the beach. Off the kitchen is the laundry room with a door to the backyard and outdoor shower. Also unique to the home is a private driveway with parking for two cars and plenty of parking in front of the house. Many other homes in Seacrest don't offer a private driveway.

We made a wise choice in selecting Sand in Your Sox! The location is awesome, walking distance to the beach and Seacrest Square and Rosemary for dining and shopping. The house has a great layout, with nice furnishings and lots of beachy details. Loved the outdoor kitchen and eating area! All in all, adults and kids were pleased alike. I would definitely recommend.
Great house is a great location
This is a large house that is conveniently located near everything. Very clean and plenty of room for one or two families.
The house was very spacious and perfect for our families. We had everything we needed.
Beautiful and spacious home ideally located in a quiet neighborhood yet close to all 30-A amenities.
This roomy and comfortably furnished beach home was exactly what we were looking for and we were not at all disappointed in our choice of Sand in Your Soxs. During our month stay we were able to host four different family groups and the accommodations worked perfectly for both couples and families. All of our visiting guests commented on how perfect the space worked for everyone. The outdoor patio and outdoor kitchen was one of our favorite features of the home and it turned out to be our favorite hangout spot. It is only a short walk to the beach, shops and the many restaurants in Rosemary Beach, Seacrest Beach and Alys Beach. When we travel, we always choose destinations that are pedestrian friendly as we enjoy walking and bicycling for exercise. The neighborhoods of Seacrest and Rosemary are perfect strolling neighborhoods and very safe for biking as well. This is our second year to spend our winter vacation on 30-A. We have definite plans to return!
Perfect for our group
This is the second year we have rented Sand in Your Sox for a stay during the 30A Songwriters Festival. The space is great for our group. We are friends with many of the musicians so we often have visitors and impromptu jam sessions in the living room. We make good use of the outdoor kitchen to trade burgers for songs. Suzanne has been a joy to work with and we’ve been very happy and comfortable in the house. We’ll be back next year!
Wonderful house, great location!
We loved our stay at Sand in Your Sox! It was perfect for our group of 9. Lots of space, nice and clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable. The house is in a great location with an easy walk to the beach or walk into the cute town of Rosemary Beach. We loved the outdoor Christmas Eve candlelight service in Rosemary Beach. And the farmers market there was an added bonus. Great restaurants, cute shops, everything you need close by. We also loved renting bikes. A great area to explore that way! We definitely will be back in the future!
There is so much to do in Seacrest and you are just steps to Rosemary Beach, between Destin and Panama City Beach. The neighborhood 12,000 square foot pool is half a block from the house and you are a 5 minute walk to the beach.
The beach is located across 30A from the main entrance. The Beach Chair Company is located on the beach and in addition to renting beach chairs, you can rent paddle boards, kayaks and even a fire pit!
If you it is a rainy day or you just need a break from the beach, Pier Park is a ten minute drive and is a premiere shopping center. Among the 124 stores, Pier Park features Target, Forever 21, Dillards, JCPenneys and Marshalls. The outdoor property boasts many dining and entertainment options: A movie at the Grand IMAX Theater… dinner, drinks, and dueling pianos at Rum Runners Tropical Grill…or live music at Tootsies.
A little further past Pier Park are two fun museums. Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum boasting galleries of the weird, strange, and bizarre! Ripley’s 7D Moving Theater takes you on an amazing, interactive journey. Across the street is the Wonderworks Museum is an 'amusement park' for the mind with 35,000 square feet of “edu-tainment”. The attraction combines education and entertainment with more than 100 hands on exhibits that challenge the mind and spark the imagination.
