Contemporary Home With 3 Bedrooms & Incredible Kitchen. Feels Like a Cruise Ship

When we sold our family home down the street we moved our karma and love for the 'aina (land) here. Hopefully you will get the same feeling we have: peace, serenity and the knowledge that Pele and Kanaloa watch over the Big Island and the special piece of it we mind for them.

We bought this property six years ago and completely remodeled it from the ground up. It has state of the art finishes throughout and is meant to provide a tranquil respite for Lisha and I after we complete our work with the Foreign Service. It's a place for families to gather together and celebrate what's important.

When you walk in through the custom designed front door, you will start to see the fabulous design features and art immediately. Large spaces and endless light fill the main area which include the living room, kitchen, dining area and lanais. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen and one with two twins, on the same level.

Take the staircase downstairs and you enter the realm of the sixty by twenty foot wide Family Suite. It has a queen bed, a king size bed and a beautiful bathroom with a free standing tub. The WC is in a separate room and there is my favorite, a double shower which is also a steam room. There is a second, fully covered lanai on this level as well. I can't live without it so just outside the bedroom's side door there is a second shower looking over the ocean.

OCCUPANCY-In consideration of our neighbors and because of liability issues, OCCUPANCY AND USE OF THE HOUSE IS STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE NUMBER OF GUESTS WE HAVE AGREED TO IN YOUR RESERVATION. Other persons are not allowed on the property and there can be no loud parties at any time. Our neighbors closely monitor the neighborhood and record and report disruptive events as soon as they happen. IF WE RECEIVE A COMPLAINT REGARDING EXCESSIVE TRAFFIC, NOISE OR PARTIES OF ANY KIND YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT. We understand that many wish to have events and parties and in fact love a good time ourselves. If that is your need then our home is not the place for you.

Camp Crawford is a moveable feast. Having spent over twenty years in Hawaii, we joined the Foreign Service in 2010 and served nearly four years in Frankfurt, two in Washington, D.C. and have been posted to Dakar, Senegal through the summer of 2019. Randall and Winston are attending Erasmus University and CSU-Ft. Collins respectively. Clarissa graduated from Erasmus University in Rotterdam after doing a semester at the National University of Singapore. She is presently applying to graduate schools.

We arrived on the 16th and left on Christmas Day just as we planned over a year ago. So much changed in a year but all conspired to bring us to this wonderful home on the best part of the Big Island. This home is very welcoming and perfectly located to enjoy the view, the sounds of the waves and the frogs. The lanai is wonderful... We spent much of our time out there. The showers and the big tub downstairs are great treats. Easy access to the Farmers Market to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, coffee, and locally made breads. The market was also a great source for wonderful presents to take back to the Mainland. Come and enjoy this place. This house is in great harmony with the essence of Hilo. Mahalo!

Lovely! Peaceful! Perfect!

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful place! This house is convenient to everything. We were in Hilo to celebrate my son's wedding and this place provided the perfect place for my family before and after the festivities. Not only was it convenient to all the activities that our age diverse family members were interested in, but it was great to have a refuge of sorts to regroup after busy days. The house is lovely and comfortable and has everything one could need and was very clean. We saw whales, stars, and cruise ships, all from the porch. The breeze and the sound of the waves soothe the soul! Thank you for thinking of everything!

This is where you want to be!

How do I begin to describe our stay? Let's just make it plain and simple - luxurious and convenient living with paradise views. Our party of five had ample room to relax, listen to the crashing surf below, while drinking in the beautiful surrounding scenery of Hilo Bay - all this, after consuming a sumptuous meal prepared in the gourmet kitchen. The home is adorned throughout with unique artwork that adds considerably to the aura of far flung travels as well as the flavor of Hawaii itself. Loved the combination steam, jetted/rain shower on the lower level - it was used often with gusto! Oh my, I still feel the cooling trade winds on the two expansive lanai's just steps away from the bedrooms that bordered them. The location is ideal - the property is situated on a quiet cul-de-sac street just minutes from all that Hilo town has to offer. This is the place to be...and we are so grateful to have found it. Thank you to the gracious owners - the whole booking process was simple and hassle free. Enjoy this treasure.

10 STAR EXPERIENCE!

This home is everything it’s described to be and so much more! No picture can replace the real life beauty of the scenery off the upper and lower lanai. The amenities are endless from the ocean views, large spacious kitchen, soothing ocean waves crashing below as well as the sauna/waterfall shower in the master. Although there were only 2 of us, this home would be perfect for a large family or several couples to enjoy. We were married on the Kona side of the island and enjoyed the short drive over. Very scenic. The home is conveniently located to many restaurants and a short drive to Carl Smith and Richardson Beaches. Perfect for snorkeling and swimming with sea turtles as we did. They even have snorkeling gear and coolers for trips to the tide pools. Short drive to lava hikes as well as Volcanoes National Park. Super quiet, nice clean neighborhood with plenty of privacy despite homes on either side. We had no issues with the cleanliness and Melanie was easy to text to answer any questions we had. Our wedding/honeymoon was the most memorable 8 days of our lives and Brian and Lisha’s home was a huge part of it! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay. We will certainly be back!

Lovely Home for an Idyllic Vacation

Hilo is the place, Oceanfront is the location to be. We relaxed to the sound of the ocean, looked out over beautiful Hilo Bay. Town and food was 10 minutes away, adventures is every direction.

Paradise in Hawaii

This was our 2nd stay at Brian's beautiful island home. There is nothing about this home not to like. Pictures don't do it justice. All the amenities you could ask for and then some. The views are amazing, sunrise, moonrise, waves crashing at night.. Convenient to Volcano National Park. If you have the opportunity to bike/hike to the lava surface flow it's indescribable. Easy drive to Kona. Thanks again Brian for sharing your beautiful home.. We'll be back for 3rd time soon.. Jack & Jeanne

Dream home by the sea

The house was everything we hoped it would be and we had a wonderful stay. The large, open layout of the kitchen was perfect for our group and made it easy to enjoy the daily breakfasts and meals we prepared together.

Furnishings were comfortable and combined with the sounds of the sea made it a restful refuge for us.
