Completely furnished 1 BR condo in a 6-unit oceanfront building; faces lovely courtyard as you walk up one flight of stairs; very clean, nicely decorated, with complete kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, toaster oven); washer/dryer inside; leather sofa in LR; cable TV/WiFi hookup, king size bed in BR, large vanity in bathroom. The ocean is just a minute's walk from your doorstep. Located on a beautiful, somewhat secluded beach, yet close enough to stores for convenience. A deck with seating overlooks the Atlantic, and stairs lead down to the beach, with a shower for rinsing off.
Until moving here in 1981, I lived in Charleston, SC, where I worked for the Federal Government. After moving to FL, I continued my career with the Government until retirement in 2001. My husband and I together have five children and 17 grandchildren. We love spending time with them and enjoying the role of grandparents. We also love to travel and have had an opportunity to visit many places in and outside the US. Our last trip in 2012 took us to Turkey and Greece, which was an amazing adventure.

After my husband retired from the Navy, he was offered jobs in several locations, one of which was Cocoa Beach. Both of us love the ocean, and the fact that this area was pretty much surrounded by water made our choice an easy one. When we moved here, we had no idea we would become so attached to this area and the place we call home. We have never regretted our decision or had a desire to live anywhere else. After living here for many years, it just gets better and better!!
My husband and I enjoy living in a place that offers tranquility and a small town atmosphere is to us the perfect combination. Cocoa Beach is unique in that it has managed to remain a 'small town' in spite of the pressures from many residents to expand. For retired or active duty military, Patrick Air Force Base, which is approximately a mile south of us, offers a commissary and exchange.
Aside from our beautiful beaches, there are many attractions in nearby Orlando, which is just over an hour away. Visit Kennedy Space Center, a tourist favorite, or rent a surf board and try your hand at water sports. We're proud to say that Port Canaveral is the home port for Disney cruise lines. Enjoy fresh seafood at one of the many restaurants at The Cove, or buy locally and prepare your own. If you're willing to try your hand at it, surf fishing in the area is superb; who knows, you might even catch your dinner! The wide beaches here are excellent for bike riding, or you might want to look for shells as you stroll leisurely on the beach. If you're an early riser, you can walkl out to the nearby deck and watch the sun rise over the ocean.
