About Dave Riggins
We were both raised on the Oregon coast and migrated to Portland 30+ years ago and always dreamed of having a beach house but never expected to have one this nice with this kind of view. We truly love it.
Dave Riggins purchased this Townhome in 2015
Why Dave Riggins chose Rockaway Beach
We wanted a beach house that was within 2 hours of Portland where we live and it is this is almost exactly 100 miles and 2 hours from us. A builder friend of mine built it these units and kept the best one for himself. He offered it to us to use several years ago to use and fell in love with it and told him if he ever decides to sell, call us. 2 years later, it was ours.
What makes this Townhome unique
Best Ocean and Beach views. Side Yard with fire pit and seating. Useable garage. Creek that flows directly past the side yard right onto the beach. Hoses front and rear to wash off sand.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
This house was gorgeous inside, but the main selling point is the beautiful view. I could sit in the living room reading a book or catching up on emails and see the Oregon ocean right from where I sat. Not just a partial view, it was head on. Now, there is noise from the traffic (house is accross the street from the beach) and there are houses to either side, but you can see the beach and the beautiful waves from both the living area and the master suite's large sliding glass window. Rockaway is a nice little town for home base as well. There is a Dollar General for your convenience and Tilamook is only a 20 minute drive and they have a Fred Meyer for any groceries. We stayed during the 4th of July and WOW!!! Tons of fireworks right on the beach. All you have to do is head across the street with your chairs (provided in the garage) and just sit and enjoy. No traffic to deal with after - just pick up your chairs and head back across the street! You can build a fire anywhere on the beach there as well. So fun. We bought firewood for $5 and used some driftwood as well. You can use any driftwood you can carry! Cannon Beach is only 20 minutes or so north and then Astoria is a little further on. We found 24 sand dollars on the far north beach at Seaside and saw someone with two big bags of them that had arrived earlier than we did. It's a 25 minute drive, but worth it at low tide if you want to find sand dollars. You can also find them at low tide near the water line on Rockaway if you walk along the beach south of the house, though not nearly as abundant as Seaside. Check out the crabbing at Kelly Brighton's marina as well. Even if you don't like crab, just go watch them bringing them in on the docks. So much fun!
Nice Family Thanksgiving at Rockaway Beach
My family of 5 had a lovely 4 night stay at Dave’s condo over Thanksgiving Weekend. The condo’s configuration was ideal for us with the large kitchen, dining area, and family room (with plenty of lounging room for all of us) on one floor and the bunk room completely removed on the other side of the garage so our older teen and young 20s age kids could retreat there when they wanted to. The kitchen was well appointed, and we cooked a full Thanksgiving meal in it. The beds were comfortable and the view was lovely. We would definitely return.
Thank you! It was a pleasure having you stay with us!
Great place at Rockaway Beach
This is a well-appointed home a few blocks from the beach. There is a gorgeous view from the 2nd and 3rd floors especially; this was a big draw for my parents visiting from Arizona. There are plenty of kitchen essentials for cooking. We were a party of 4 adults and 6 children. There was a nice balance of private and gathering space. We would definitely stay again!
Glad you enjoyed your stay!

Looking forward to having you return soon!
Celebrating our 50th Anniversary with family
We loved the location of the house and we really enjoyed that there were enough beds to accommodate our family. The main living space was wonderful!
Thank you for letting our family stay in your home! We had great weather and had an awesome time with our family.
It was cute... Sloping floors, smoker was moldie, busy highway, couldn't enjoy the sound of the ocean. Close to some amazing places.
I'm glad she said she loved it but she only gave it 3 stars. I'm not sure what she means when she says sloping floors? Makes no sense.
Smoker was moldy? It's a trager and that's what they do when not used at the beach. Once you turn them on, they clean right up plus there is a new propane grill and charcoal one as well.
It is on 101 so traffic can be a bit loud at times. Out of all the reviews, this is the only one with 3 stars. I try very hard to make sure all guests are 5 star happy.
Rockaway Beach is a small town with very little night life but an amazing beach.
SOUTH OF ROCKAWAY BEACH: 5 miles south of Rockaway Beach is Garibaldi where you can go deep sea fishing. 10 miles south of Garibaldi is Tillamook (pop maybe 10K) with the famous Tillamook cheese factory that has daily tours and a large Fred Meyer one stop shopping store and a Safeway store as well. 20 miles south of Tillamook is Sand Lake where all the sand dunning people go to ride their quads or other dune vehicles.
NORTH OF ROCKAWAY BEACH: 5 miles north of Rockaway Beach is Wheeler where you can rent boats and go crabbing or fishing. 5 miles north of Wheeler is Manzanita, a cool little town to shop in. 10 miles north of Manzanita is Cannon Beach, also a cool town to shop in. 10 miles north of Cannon Beach is Seaside, a very lively but busy town. 15 miles north of Seaside is Astoria, the furthest point north in Oregon on the coast.
