About the property

3 BR/2 1/2 Bath with Claw Foot Tub and Two-Headed shower/Stone Fireplace

This cabin is directly adjacent to our other VRBO Property #508323 (Check it out) and shares a common driveway, parking area and a private gated entrance. Rent them both for large parties like family reunions, men's and women's retreats, church staff retreats and couples retreats.

Our non-smoking, pet-free, cozy and relaxing 3 bedroom chalet is situated perfectly above Gatlinburg. Sleeps 6 in beds (2 queens and 2 twin beds) with all new bedding and mattresses in 2015. During the winter months for ski enthusiasts we are within 3/10th of a mile from Ober Gatlinburg and the Chalet Village Pool, Tennis Courts and Clubhouse. During the warm months as members you will enjoy unlimited and free access to any three of the chalet village managed pools with Tennis courts and game rooms. Our chalet is a smoke free and pet free property.

Guests can get down to Gatlinburg quickly (5 minutes) and enjoy a great selection of outstanding restaurants, unique shops and after dinner treats and then get back quickly to the cozy confines of your home away from home. Our cabin features a gated entrance to keep out unwanted guests and offers ample parking including a paved driveway and parking area.

When bad weather strikes, your close proximity (I can throw a snowball to ski mountain road :) ) to Ski Mountain Road ensures you can always get in and out as this road is always treated to ensure tourists can access Ober Gatlinburg and Downtown Gatlinburg to keep those tax dollars flowing.

These are just a few of the benefits of the wonderful location for our chalets. In addition, we have quick and easy access to the GSMNP via the Gatlinburg bypass.

We also own an adjacent log cabin property (VRBO #508323) located right next door that shares the same parking area so we can accommodate large parties and family get togethers. Contact us at or rto inquire about the availability of both of these properties, the a frame (VRBO #590729) listed here and our adjacent log cabin (VRBO #508323). Once you pay for your stay you will be able to Download and print off the A frame Welcome Pack which contains important information about your stay.

Loved our stay

  • 5 of 5

We had 3 generations staying at the A Frame; Grandmother, daughter, and 2 grand kids. There was a bed for everyone and plenty of room in the house. It was the perfect spot for getting around the Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge. It's a little trek up the mountain to get there, but well worth it. If you're not used to an armed entry and exit device on the door, make sure you have the directions and codes for both entering and exiting the property.

The house is adorable both inside and outside. The kitchen and living room are spacious, and there is plenty of seating for dining.

I would recommend this property for a great stay and visit to the Great Smokey Mountains.

Absolutely Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this chalet. It was perfect for our family. Grandma had her own space downstairs, while the rest of the family had bedrooms upstairs. The owners were great, easy booking, super experience. We would highly recommend this chalet to our friends.

Charming A-Frame getaway

  • 4 of 5

This charming A-frame cottage is a great get-away. Slightly quirky bedroom locations add to the interest and charm. Great location—short drive outside of downtown and nestled on wooded property. Really great visit!

Nice concept but won’t be staying there again!

  • 2 of 5

I found the water heater frustrating. It took several minutes of the hot water running for the master bath shower and / or tub to get water hot enough to enter, this equals to a lot of wasted water. There was also an incident where on our second night stay it took over over 30 minutes of repeatedly entering the 4 digit door code to unlock the door. Made calls to contact person from the numbers she left me, the first did not have a voicemail set up yet the second I left a message and he never returned my call. I got lucky after 30 minutes of trying the door code and the door unlocked and the next day the contact person contacted me by email and apologized. I’m just glad I did not have to take my family to find a place to sleep that night at 11:30pm !!!! But I will say I was refunded $50 for my inconvenience for the door.

Owner's Response: Dear Thomas I am sorry that your stay at our Chalet was unsatisfactory. That is extremely disappointing. I want to address both of your commments for future guests that have a concern based on your negative review. We have experienced our coldest weather the week of your stay over the last several years. The cold weather combined with very cold ground water means the hot water heater has to work overtime to warm this very cold water. We will evaluate the temp on the water heater and if necessary turn up the temperature on the water heater. This has never been a concern before your stay. I am confident the below normal temps have contributed to the issue with the water not getting warm enough for you in a timely manner. We just replaced the hot water heater in Ausgust of this year so it is virtually brand new. Concerning the door lock we had retired for the evening. When you called. I am sorry you had this trouble. We sent our maintenance person up to look at the lock and he didn’t have any trouble. The batteries were good and he accessed the lock on the first try. We gave you the $50 refund adjustment for the inconvenience of the lock not working for you. It is regrettable that we provides an adjustment to the cost of your stay and you still provided a 2 star review which is the first 2 star review we have ever received. We hope future visits to the area are more satisfactory. Sincerely Joel and Beth Piper

Cute getaway to the mountains

  • 5 of 5

Our purpose for coming to Gatlinburg was to hike the Alum Cave Trail to Mt. LeConte for my son's Hiking merit badge. This place served all of our needs. We'd happily stay here again.

Our chalets are centrally located and very convenient to downtown Gatlinburg's most popular restaurants (the Peddler, Calhouns and Cherokee Grill) and attractions (Dollywood, Ober Gatlinburg, Hillbilly Golf and Ripley's Acquarium) so you can get in and out with ease. Located only 5 minutes from the National Park you can hike Mt. LeConte, Clingmans Dome, and Newfound Gap.

Some of our renters walk to Ober Gatlinburg to avoid the parking issues and the cost of using the Tram to access the lodge during the busy winter months.
