Recently restored historic, Mill house, downtown Bend. This home is a quick few blocks to downtown shops, great restaurants, galleries, and only a 15 minute walk to the Old Mill District. The Deschutes River and Drake Park, hiking and biking trails, kayaking and tubing are just a short walk away. Mt. Bachelor ski resort is only a 30 minutes drive. A newly remodeled Safeway grocery store is 3 blocks away. We are a couple blocks from an awesome bike rental shop and The Taco Stand - a hidden gem and locals' favorite.

About Linda Brundage

We've always had a passion for building and renovating homes, and gardening. We relocated from Corvallis to Bend in 1990, and have never looked back. We raised our daughter here, and consider Bend to be our home.

Linda Brundage purchased this bungalow in 2000

Why Linda Brundage chose Bend

A realtor friend found this property for us. It was a diminutive 447 square feet with a sagging roof, windows askew, and no foundation! And so of course, we fell in love with it and had to have it. Of all the building/remodeling projects we've ever taken on, this is the one we knew was special. After much research, planning, and conversations with the local Historic Society, we embarked on the adventure of restoring (and adding to...) the property. This home is a true gem. We are proud to offer it as a vacation rental; your temporary home away from home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My family and I stayed here recently and had such a lovely time. The home was incredibly clean, and fully stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. It was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. It was also very close to downtown Bend and we walked to breakfast and dinner every day during our stay. We will definitely book this home again next summer for our yearly trip to Bend.

Beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

The house has everything that you need. It is a short walk to downtown, and a pleasant walk to the Old Mill. We have stayed here a few times and we will probably return.

Great spot!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute little cottage. It's very conveniently located a short walk from the river and all the restaurants and shops of the historic district, but not right in the midst of all the hustle and bustle--perfect! The house was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed, and it was nice and quiet at night.

Perfect cottage!

  • 5 of 5

What a delightful, comfortable and cozy cottage! Staying here made visiting family in Bend so much more enjoyable! We were able to walk to Drake Park and Downtown for shopping and meals, as well as just kick back and relax with family in the pleasant open floor plan. Although the kitchen is only big enough for one person to maneuver in, my grandson was able to make us an excellent dinner. The front lawn was wonderful for a game of Frisbee and the numerous outdoor sitting areas were very relaxing. This will definitely be our go to place whenever we visit Bend!!

7 minutes to everywhere!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cottage! We kept laughing because every destination we pulled up was 7 minutes away. Really easy walking distance to downtown and Bend just added Uber so that let us keep the car parked and the fun flowing all trip. Area was very safe and definitely had a nice local feel to it. We hiked, biked, SUP on the river, ate & drank and had a ton of fun! House was cute & quaint and worked perfectly for our needs. Great place to stay!

Home away in Bend OR

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this property. Prior to arrival we received comprehensive instructions about the location and how to access the home. It was nice to have a keyless entry and water and dryer. The home was clean and very quiet. Off street parking was available. It was a pleasant surprise to have maps and information about the area surrounding Bend. We used trail guides, Oregon bird book and maps to help plan our exploration of the area. We added our guides. The property was within walking distance to "old Bend" where a majority of shops and dining was located. Nice plan with good location.
