This log cabin sits along a beautiful ridgeline overlooking a small valley along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Designed with comfort in mind guests will enjoy all the amenities of home. Granite countertops, ceramic tile bathrooms, new appliances, hardwood floors, HDTV, leather sofa and recliner, BluRay player, stone gas fireplace, gas grill and a nice deck sitting in the tree tops all combine to help make this property a unique experience.
The quality of the home isn't the only reason to plan your vacation here. Just as important is the setting and the location. Blasted into the rock off of the main road and below the ridgeline creates the privacy and serenity many folks are yearning for. With no highway noise you will find it so quiet that you can hear the wings of the birds as they cruise by and with no man made light nearby you will be amazed at the stars at night.
In addition to all of this the location of the property is absolutely outstanding. Only a few miles from town on a well maintained gravel road we offer a true mountain experience without sacrificing convenience. You are only one mile from the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway which is only 15 miles from the Smokey Mountain National Park. You will look up at Water Rock Knob, the highest point around with views of Tennessee and the surrounding mountain peaks, just four miles up the Parkway. You are only about 12 miles from Cherokee and the famous Harrah's Casino, Santa Land, Gem mines and more. You are situated to drive to Bryson City and the Great Smokey Mountain Railway, all of the nearby waterfalls and trails and you can still drive to Asheville and the Biltmore House in about 40 minutes.
Just so guests are well informed we have included several photo's of the driveway and carport area. When building on a ridge to achieve these great views like we have it is always difficult to carve out flat areas for parking. As you can tell we have achieved an area large enough for a mid sized SUV to come down the drive, park in the carport, turn around and drive back out. If you are driving a pickup truck or a larger sedan you will still be able to park in the carport but you would need to back down the drive (as I do at home). If you bring two vehicles there is extra parking up on the road for the second one. All in all most people will work things out depending on whether they have 4WD, AWD, FWD or 2WD.
You will be glad you choose The Bear's Den for your next vacation.
