We really enjoyed our stay at Grand Traverse Commons. It was a beautiful condo.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay. It is an incredibly nice property and condo. We would highly recommend.

The only thing we would change is the laundry situation. There was no washer/dryer in our condo. Since there is a common laundry, I assume it's the same in all units. For a high end location, we were surprised. However, the common laundry was convenient and didn't cause any problem.

Pure Michigan at its finest

  • 5 of 5

I selected this location at The Village Grand Traverse Commons as a surprise for my sister who loves vintage and old things and it surely did not disappoint! The condo was breathtaking, even better in person than the pictures and the owner was extremely pleasant to work with. Everyone in our group had a wonderful time. The location is a prime spot, within walking distance to main Traverse City attractions and a 30 min drive to the majestic Sleeping Bear Dunes Lake Shore. It was a weekend we never forget, we felt like royalty living in this condo, couldn't be more pleased.

It was ok

  • 3 of 5

A little more attention to detail would have been helpful. The keys provided were the wrong house keys which caused us to wait for 20-30 minutes in the hallway waiting for someone to open the unit, there is no in unit laundry and there was no laundry card provided although we were told that there was one available, there were about 12 light bulbs burned out, and the TV that was provided was small and not what was pictured in the photos online. We were provided one towel per person for a 4-day stay but the owner did have someone drop off some new towels on day 3. For the price, I would have expected a little more. The selling point of this unit was really the location. Walking out of the unit to amazing restaurants, breakfast, bakery and little shops in this old mental hospital was very cool.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to respond. I think your feedback is helpful to those that aren't sure if a VRBO or hotel would be better for their stay. Yes, the fact that the keys were made on the wrong type of key was unfortunate, I'm glad we were able to fix it right away. Yes, at VRBOs sometimes you have to ask for lights to be changed and (at least for most) there is not towel service. For the same price as our condo (which has a beautiful kitchen, sleeps 6, has 3 full bathrooms, includes a welcome basket with wine, has free parking), you could get a hotel room downtown that sleeps 2. BUT, if things like not having to ask for lightbulbs to be changed and want new towels every day, I agree you'd be better off spending on your money on a hotel. Glad you liked the location (we love it), and, again, thanks for providing information that will help others figure out if this is the right place for them or not.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

When I was visiting the location for my brothers wedding in Traverse City last spring I started looking for a place to stay. To be honest when I found this listing I thought it too good to be true but reached out to Kate who responded quickly. The location and the home itself couldn't have been better. It fit my group easily and it was furnished with everything we needed.

If you find yourself in traverse city I highly recommend staying; Kate was great communicating with me and very helpful.

Luxury paradise with a side of trendy hipster

  • 5 of 5

This is such a great place to discover Traverse City! The location gives you so many conveniences to shopping, dining, and pretty walks. We loved our time here. It's obvious that Kate and Dan have put lots of thought into their guests' stay and made the whole experience so easy.

We were traveling with two little ones, 2 1/2 and 10 months, and they were at home instantly. A perfect place for them to play and lots of toys, it was like Christmas for our 2 1/2 yr old every morning. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and I can imagine teenagers thinking this place is awesome too.

When we arrived the weather had just suddenly turned cold and we were not prepared. Kate literally gave us the coat off her son's back! And allowed us to borrow some clothes while we were there, above and beyond!! Just one more reason why VRBO is so much better than a hotel.

As far as adults go, the condo has super comfy beds and a gorgeous master bath. I loved cooking in the kitchen and found everything I needed. I can't say enough about how nice our time was at the Commons. Truly you won't want to leave!!
