About Mark Altvater

Hello, we are Mark and Lynne and are native New Englander's that love the outdoors. This property was purchased for our family and Lynne's brothers family who live in Newport, RI in May 2014.

We live in Londonderry NH, 2 hours from Birchlea and our families use the property several times throughout the year when not rented. We find this important for you to know that we take pride in the home, it's not 'just a rental'. Hopefully you will enjoy it as much as we do. :)

Mark Altvater purchased this condo in 2014

Why Mark Altvater chose Intervale

Our family has been renting another property in this development for the last 20 years, and we have watched our families grow with every passing year through the photo albums we have accumulated. We want to see our extended families enjoy this property in the future. It is our hope that you may follow the same tradition and make return visits to this beautiful area.

What makes this condo unique

Birchlea is a very quiet development and the association doesn't allow loud snowmobiles, motorcycles etc. on the property. You wake up to the smell of fresh rain and pine needles, and the sound of birds. It's very quiet and a pleasant, relaxing location. The deck is very inviting, nice table and chairs with a private view of the woods. The home was recently rennovated with new furnishings and light fixtures. Also the unit is thoroughly cleaned between every guest, ensuring all linens are refreshed and paper supplies filled, just as you would expect with any hotel. The rental is reasonably priced, as you have all the amenities of a house for the same cost of a hotel room in the Washington Valley Area.

Wonderful family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience here--everything was clean and well organized. It's obvious that Mark and his family take pride in the place. The condo was perfect for our family (4 adults and 2 little ones). Our 3-year-old loved the bunk beds and we were happy to see the barrier on the top bunk, so she could sleep up there safely. She also loved the DVD collection (Toy Story and Frozen, especially!). And how nice that there was a pack-n-play! We brought one for our baby but good to know for the future. We made good use of the grill and games. Would definitely stay here again--great spot if you plan on hitting Story Land and exploring the mountains! Thank you!

Beautiful comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

We went up north for a girls weekend with two elderly ladies and the other 3 of us middle aged. The home was well equipped with everything needed, right down to the martini glasses. :) Everything was warm and cozy, we couldn't have thought of anything else to ask for. AND the price was very reasonable, you pay over $300 at the Holiday Inn locally for just a small room.

Shopping and restaurants, groceries are close by. We highly recommend it!!

hard to find places like this. Could go to bed mid day and not be bothered. Loved the tree out back, cozy and peace full. Fire place is a great touch, warms up the place fast, also the ac is fast and comfortable. No problems. it shows, You Get What You Pay For. Thanks to Mark and all of the Kesson family.

Nice getaway in the White Mountains

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in this property and enjoyed it very much. Mark, the owner, is easy to get in touch with and gets back to you right away. The house is well organized, has everything you need, and is very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped and there are nice dishes and pots and pans. We enjoyed the 2 grills outside. There are games, TV, Netflix, and DVD players. There is a good collection of movies available for you to watch. There is a pool on the property and the location is great. We would like to come back. Please read the directions on the way in and do not rely solely on GPS. There are two complexes that the GPS can bring you to. The directions the owner provides can help you find the right house.
