About the Property

*I try to make my rate as transparent as possible. The rate is a nightly rate. My fixed costs are 150 per rental. This means longer stays will have a lower per noctem rate, and my guests who stay longer are fairly rewarded. Total tax (state and county) is 11%. The "Service Fee" you see is added by vrbo, not I.
We are the Kimbles, a family with seven children, and we would love for you to stay at our condo. We rely on rental income from you to afford this unit, and we know how competitive rentals are right now. What we have to offer you, besides reasonable rates, is a condo that we love to come to when we can, and that we have stuffed full of everything you need for a wonderful family vacation, including beach stuff and kitchen stuff. We have upgraded the standard Cox cable so that you can watch SEC football, and we have our own private, secure, wifi so that you can connect with our password and get some work done with no privacy issues, and stream a Netflix movie or surf the internet with no buffering or connection loss. (Luau does not provide free wifi, and even when you pay for it, it is not very good.) Remember, we love this unit and we come and stay in it when we can, and I am very picky. And for as much as you pay, you should be, too. I am always open to suggestion on what I can do to make the condo better for you. So please, let me know your ideas on what to do.
This unit has been renovated by us, with rectified travertine tile floors (tiny grout lines), and labrador blue eyes granite in the kitchen. The kitchen has new appliances, including a refrigerator with rapid temperature recovery so that you can stuff it full without worrying that your milk will spoil. The bathrooms have tub/showers with spray wands to hose the kids off. And there is also a full size stacked washer and dryer. We have replaced the old water heaters with Euro-style tankless, in-line water heaters, which means hot water is instant, and never runs out. The three TVs and DVD players in the unit are new blu-ray and internet capable devices. The living room TV has the enhanced Cox cable box, which allows you to get many more channels on cable, including the SEC Network, a must for our fall football season guests.
I want your vacation to be stress free, and most importantly, as much a vacation for mom as for the kids. In pursuit of this goal, I stock this unit with basic kitchen sundries, such as salt and spices, sugar, tea and coffee, condiments and more. I also keep paper plates and plastic cups, foil, wraps, and ziplock bags in the cabinets for you. Under the sink I have soap, dishwasher pods, wipes and garbage bags. The laundry area has detergent and dryer sheets, and I keep office supplies and first aid items there, also. I have basic bathroom items under the sink, and the beach area has lots of beach stuff in it. I provide towels and linens, not a service. This means that you have the highest quality sheets I could find, Comphy brand, and the highest hotel-quality towels I could buy. I also provide you with the highest quality bathroom amenities I could find, Ecru New York. You will be welcomed with Italian candies on your pillow and a small gift on your nightstand. I really hope all of your needs are covered, and if you can think of anything else that I can supply for you, just let me know.
The height of this seventh floor condo is such that you can experience everything for which you came to the Emerald Coast. The blue-green water and snowy-sand beach lay just beyond the balcony. This unit is a corner unit with a wrap-around balcony, south and west facing, on the seventh floor of Tower II, making it just about the absolute best location in the Luau complex. The expansive windows in this unit make you feel like you are on top of the world, with a view of the beach, golf course, and bay in the distance. Moreover, there are no nearby units or buildings, so even though it is open and light, there is privacy. The only sound interrupting the ocean waves will be the laughter of your children. The location of this unit on the south/west side of the building means you can enjoy your tea or coffee, wine or beer, on the balcony and watch the sunset and seasonal fireworks at Elephant Walk.
Summer is wonderful, but I hope you have a chance to go in the off season. There is nothing better than throwing the balcony doors open and waking up with the rising sun and lapping waves, and having a cup of coffee with the golden sunrise and the distant peal of seagulls.
The decor is kid friendly, with happy art work and soft colors. I love to go antiquing, especially at the beach, and the condo is full of my finds; so, whether really cool or just junk, they seem to fit happily. We know you will love this unit, and we hope that you will feel it love you right back.
Oh, I almost forgot -- Here is the boring information. This is a two bedroom unit. The master has a king bed and its own bath. The guest has two queen beds, and has its own bath. The living room, with its queen sofa bed, can access the master bath. This unit sleeps 6 in comfy beds, another two on the pullout sofa, and I also provide two port-a-cribs because I remember when I needed two. (fun days, good memories, tired me) I also have a high chair if you need one. There is a beach closet stuffed full of beach stuff right in the entryway so that you can kick off your flip-flops and drop your noodle and your pail as you come in from the beach.
We also have the most wonderful housekeepers, Sue and Suzie, who do the cleaning and who help me keep the unit spic and span. They pleasantly tolerate the closets and cabinets I have stuffed full of vacation extras for you guys, and live in Destin if you need anything. My maintenance man, Johnny, is on the resort, and can fix just about anything. I am the owner and not a management company, and I want to give you personal service and make your vacation very special.
I have one other unit at Luau. It is vrbo618193. It is a studio with not as good a view, but it is much more affordable, and really cute. I also have two units at Westwinds, vrbo429145 and 436647, also two bedroom units. And at Westwinds, I have golf carts you are welcome to use. If this unit is already booked, or if there is something about it that you do not like, you can always take a look at the other units. Each of my condos is completely different, in location and in feel. Please feel free to call me or email me if you have any questions. P.S. This unit is available for short term rentals (two weeks or less) only. While I have loved having my snowbirds in years past, we have made the difficult decision to keep the unit open in January and February for shorter term guests.

About the owner: I, Belinda Masdon Kimble, grew up in Haleyville, Alabama, about a six hour drive away from Destin, Florida. My uncle had a trailer at the trailer park that bites into part of the Sandestin resort, just on Hwy 98 called Destin East. I loved coming down with my girlfriends and staying there free, and driving into Ft. Walton for the night life, because in the late seventies and early eighties, there was nothing at Sandestin except the golf course, Clements Antiques, and Camping on the Gulf. Well, a lot has changed in my life and at Sandestin. I am so happy to have this condo, which we use at times in the off season, and rent out whenever we can. We live in Birmingham, Alabama. The kids range in age from 28 to 13. We also have dogs, cats, birds, chinchillas, tortoises, and fish.

My first thought with regard to buying unit at Luau was 'I am a Westwinds girl, and there is no way I am going to drag kids and stuff over to the beach.' And then I walked into it, and my heart melted. This unit is so special. The view really reminds me that I am in a spectacular resort. I love seeing the Hilton and the golf course, and the beach and bay. There are no other buildings around, and the privacy is wonderful. The building sits on a hill, and you can really feel the breezes, even at the pool. Everything is new because Luau is the newest building at Sandestin. The saltwater pool is fantastic, and everyone who works at Luau is wonderful. This unit is truly special.

Two walls of windows and the wrap around balcony give you an incredible view.

Living area is surrounded by a wraparound corner balcony and large windows.
