About Jane Greer

I am a single mother of 2 lovely children, during the school year, I work as a paraprofessional at the WHA school. I purchased this cabin, which as been in our family for several years and am currently using it for extra income. I did live in the cabin for several months and we enjoyed it greatly as it is on my Grand Mother's property. Her name is Jane and she greets the guests when they arrive and also makes the reservations.

Jane Greer purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Jane Greer chose Leech Lake

The cabin does provide a private haven for our guests. It is still quite close to all the fun things to do here in Walker but you have a feeling of privacy. I have a home now in Walker, but spend a lot of time here when I am able.

What makes this cabin unique

The fire pit is a nice spot for hot dogs, s'mores, etc. We have several colorful chair guest can use and it is really nice at night to sit outside and enjoy the North woods.

Beautiful cabin on a quiet property

  • 5 of 5

The cabin had great space with a nice dining/kitchen area and large living room with fireplace. The fireplace came in handy for our stay since we were on Shingobee Bay for quite a few hours in cold, rainy weather. There is also a nice heater in the dining/kitchen area. Two adequate size bedrooms complete the cabin layout.

If weather is good, there's a a large deck outside the front door which would have been fun to use but alas for said weather. A firepit in the expansive front yard would have also been great if the evening would have been nice.

We caught some fish. The caretaker of the cabin said we can leave the entrails on a rock further up the yard. A pair of eagles are nesting very close by. We woke up to one the eagles finishing off their "snacks"; a very nice surprise.

It was a great stay right outside of Walker.

Perfect "Up North" Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was everything we could want for our "Up North" vacation. We loved the décor and the layout of the cabin and most of all that it was pet friendly. The cabin was centrally located between Walker and the Casino and close to many of the lakes and restaurants that we went to. It was perfect for our family.

Great family vacation/getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Jane's cabin, it's nicely appointed and located. We brought our dog, and there was a tie out stake in the yard which was nice. She has two cabins on the same large property so the neighbor's dog was out and the two played together in the large open yard as well. The cabin is just off a great bike trail, close to Shingobee Bay, Northern Lights Casino, and close to Walker. Nice deck with a grill and a beautiful fire pit as well. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioners kept the whole cabin comfortable even on a hot sticky day. Wish it had gotten cold enough to use the gas fireplace, but maybe next time.

Nice getaway

  • 4 of 5

Cute little cabin. The ad on VRBO described it well. Easy to get to and not far from downtown Walker. Perfect size for the three of us (grandma, my daughter, and myself) - we each had our own bed. My daughter slept in the living room on the futon. This room had a fan and wall-unit air conditioner(which we used each night due to the fan making noise). I had one room, however there was no fan or air-conditioner, so I only lasted two nights and then slept on the recliner in the living room. My mom had the other room (had wall air-conditioner) and she said the bed was comfortable. We had everything we needed (though the oven did have leftover food from previous renters) and it was perfect for us. We enjoyed sitting on the deck the first few nights - listening to an eagle that had a nest close by and watching it fly around. Jane, the owner had a nice fire pit available for our use (though on the nights we wanted to use it, it rained) and had a smaller one we could of used if wanted. Jane was super friendly and welcoming. She meet us on the day we arrived, which we really liked. You could tell she took great pride in her cabin. It was decorated nicely. We really liked the rocking chair in the living room. It was peaceful, even though you could hear the traffic on State highway 371. We brought our dog and she loved it. Going into Walker, was fun. Fun shops to explore in. We even spent some time swimming in Leech Lake. Spent the day at Itasca (just 1/2 hour away) and checked out the Headwaters of the Mississippi; checked out the Forestedge Winery (about 1/2 hour away); drove to Bemidji (about 45 minutes away) and ate a Minnesota Nice Cafe (great food) and saw Paul Bunyan and Babe. A fun stop was Paul Bunyan Animal Land. Charlies' Up North has great ribs!! Benson's has a huge variety of pizzas!! Would consider coming back and enjoyed our time away from our busy lives.
