Working professional woman, originally from Armenia, live in Boston for many years I live in the same house since year 2000 house. I love to travel and enjoy hosting travelers. I live in the front Victorian house, #1. You will be in #2 behind the main house, quiet, cozy place
Hermina purchased this house in 2000
4 min to walk to T-red line (Field's Corner stop), affordable, clean, comfortable. Eating and sopping places just around corner, ocean not far, Parking on th street is unlimited, free.
T-red line takes you direct to South Station, Downtown, MGH, MIT, Harvard square. From the airport is free if you take Silver line and change to T-red line in South Station to Fields corner.
It is vibrant, looks like part of New York, not the wealthy, historical, area, safe, convenient and nice host who tries to make you happy
Dorchester is a historic neighborhood of over 6 square miles in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The town was founded by Puritans who emigrated from Dorchester, England in 1630.
The neighborhood is a mixed neighborhood, safe, convenient. The community has shown many improvements over the past 15 years that I’ve lived here. There’s a Police station right behind my property, and Buddhist center in front. Everything you need is just around the corner: Public library, restaurants and shopping plaza, T-mobile store.
The ocean and Castle Island are a 5 min drive away. UMASS, JFK library and museums are a 5 min drive away, or free shuttle buses are accessible from the JFK T-stop.
A 4 min walk to the Red line subway at Field’s Corner stop. The Red line is the most very convenient line in the Boston subway system, which connects Field’s Corner to the Airport, South Station, Downtown Crossing, MGH hospital, MIT, and Harvard sq. Free and easy access to my home from the Airport by public transportation.
My home is a duplex with two houses attached to each other on the same grounds. There’s the main Victorian house, built in 1848, and a Townhouse attached to it at the back that was built in the early 1900’s.
The Townhouse: Sunny, beautiful, clean, big, comfortable place for gatherings of friends and families. There is everything to feel at home:
Everything was just perfect. We spent 3 nights here (apt #2) and my family and I felt very comfortable. this is the exact place we were looking for. As we arrived by car, free parking on the street was a plus. Two blocks from red line so we could get into anywhere in 20 minutes.
Hermina was always at our disposal. She is great, seriously.
The apt has everything you need. Two bedrooms upstairs (and a full bathroom) with enough space for our stuffs. Downstairs you will find the kitchen, living room and a toillet. Laundring and drying in basement.
I would definetely return
This property was an affordable, convenient location for our family of 5 during our stay in Boston. The neighborhood, as you would expect, is diverse. It is quiet, though. The T station is 3 blocks from the house, Dorchester Ave. is well lit for a late arrival from Downtown Boston, grocery store is 2 blocks from property as well. Hermina (and Juan) took care of us from start to finish. We'd definitely recommend as an affordable option to the high prices of downtown.
The house is ideal and has plenty of space for 5 adults, in a pleasant neighbourhood and with quick and easy connections to the main sites of Boston; the only real drawback is the shared basement and what seems very open access to the house by the other users.Apart from that the description is accurate and I would have no hesitation in recommending the house.
Travelled to Boston area to visit a college with two teenagers and our younger daughter. Home was just as advertised; perfect size for our group for a few nights and just far enough outside of Boston proper to be convenient but not overwhelming. Kitchen was prestocked with basics (coffee filters, salt, paper towels), beds were comfortable, and plenty of extra towels, pillows and blankets were available. The owner was very helpful with information prior to trip and very prompt in returning the security deposit. We will definitely stay here next time we are in the area!
The townhouse was a bit south of Boston but just a few blocks to the Red Line Metro Station so easy to get to downtown.
The two bedrooms are upstairs and are sparsely furnished. It would have been great to have a couple of open shelves to put a few things on that we used daily but that's a minor thing. We also couldn't find any extra pillowcases as we each used more than one pillow due to them being so flat.
We thought the microwave needs an update as its small and sometimes it didn't heat up our food and we kept having to reheat things.
Other that a few minor things above we enjoyed our stay and thought it was a great jumping off area to explore the Boston area.
Five of us shared this 2 bedroom apartment for 4 nights and found it to be a great location, beds comfortable, kitchen well-equipped and it met our needs. The owner was very easy to work with -we appreciated that. Easy walk to the redline and close enough to the airport that you could use public transportation but also not break the bank if you utilize a taxi service -cost us $14 with UBER who arrived within 5 mins of our request! Had a great time! The only suggestion I'd make is an update to upstairs bathroom and a new couch!
