Why Kristi chose Tucson & Southern Arizona

I purchased this property to get out of Tucson in the summers for some cool mornings and nights. Also, the restaurants and galleries are some of the best I have eaten at in all of Arizona.

What makes this house unique

Large Deck and mature vegetation to enjoy while sipping your cocktail. Wireless and chromecast with strong signals

Love the décor and artwork of this home, the windows are really lovely - we were comfortable and enjoyed our trip. Having the city park close to us was an unexpected bonus as well. The owners were very easy to work with. The walkway mentioned in previous comments should be noted for anyone with mobility issues. The steps and path are a bit of a challenge when hauling luggage or a heavy cooler. This home is a bit of a trek if you prefer walking into town and around town. The location does have nice views but it also has the main road behind it, and traffic noise was not something I had anticipated. No shade cover on the front patio - or umbrella anywhere to be found. I know this is an old home with the original tub/shower - but what a pain that was. Bisbee is a great town - be prepared to walk and try the 1000 step challenge and do a ghost tour - lots of fun!!

Owner's Response: So glad you had a great time in Bisbee. It is a very fun and walkable town but many steps every place you go. So sorry you did not read that it is 100 feet up the hill to the house. We have had all types of guest including 2 couples in their 90's who thoroughly enjoyed our property. The sail over the deck was ripped and has been repaired since you were there. We do have 2 other properties that are down near the city park that you walk right into the house if you prefer with just a couple steps into the house. Bisbee offers something for almost every person.

Honeymoon in Bisbee

  • 5 of 5

We spent a very enjoyable time here. The house is well-equipped and easy to use, the deck is fabulous, and the place has many fascinating and quirky art/craft touches. It is very quiet at night. Kristi, the owner, was great to work with, and provided us some extra information re making our time in Bisbee special. We hiked one day in Chiracahua National Monument, and spent a day window shopping and hanging out in the street cafes of Bisbee. An excellent chile relleno can be found at Neariah's, about 2 miles out of Lowell on the highway. The town is similar in character to Winthrop WA, but with a southwest setting. We plan to return and bring our friends next year.

So Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We spent the weekend and loved it. Easy access off the freeway and easy to find. Perfect Bisbee weather allowed us to enjoy time on the patio and the spectacular views. The kitchen was nicely stocked so, on the nights we didn't enjoy the local fare, we cooked a delicious meal. I look forward to staying here again and highly recommend it.

The Perfect Escape

  • 5 of 5

Another wonderful weekend in Bisbee! This is a perfect place to be near all the fun and yet away from it all! With beautiful views and a peaceful front porch you will be hard pressed to want to wander into town. Once in town you won't want to leave. Sunday afternoon at the Stock Exchange is a great way to spend time sipping a local brew while listening to local jazz then wander to Roka for a sip at the bar and a few small bites. Pick up some local wine at Flying Leap and then grab the rest of what you need at the market for a great meal at the home front and watch the sunset for the perfect weekend get away!

We’ve rented many properties in Bisbee. None have been this crudely finished. I assumed “just remodeled from the ground up” meant we were going to find it completely renovated. But by simply painting over the badly lacerated hundred-year-old floor boards, not repairing badly damaged doors, and with poor fit and finish everywhere, it is substandard for a Bisbee rental. It is cutely decorated with many nice features, which made living conditions tolerable. There are a few other inaccuracies in the description, and not being forthright in describing “the walk up to the house” could have bad consequences. The walkway steps with varying rises (not to code) are dangerous, especially when descending and carrying a heavy item with both hands. Those physically limited should be aware the front doorsill has an elevation of 25’ above the parking area. 25’ is equivalent to climbing 3 stories of steps in a house with 8 foot ceilings. The climb is over a distance of 100’. The first half is up a narrow moderately sloping graveled path. The remaining distance is up a sloping surfaced walkway with exactly 20 steps to the doorsill, some very steep with the incline. Also be aware there are no above-counter cabinets in the kitchen. You have to kneel to reach dishes and glassware stored near floor level in an under-counter cabinet. And, there is no separate shower as can be interpreted. There is only a curtained clawfoot tub with a shower head and no handholds. Inadequate storage space was a big problem. It was very inconvenient living out of cardboard boxes and suitcases on the floor for a month. The only reachable cabinetry not being used by the owner were a small chest of drawers in the master BR and a few nightstands. This property best suits physically fit short-term renters who don’t mind roughing it a little.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for sending in the review. When I purchased this house and started to bring it down to bare walls we did not want to change the feel of a 1916 year old house that a woman lived in for over 70 years. So we remodeled it like a cottage feel. I have remodeled 5 over 100 year old homes and have done the same thing. Nicole Curtis design is what we go after. The artwork is from a local artist Donald Smiley(Sonrisa) and the colors of the property were chosen from his paintings through the entire house. There is no kitchen cabinets up above because it is all windows which you can see in the pictures. So if you can not bend over and walk up steep steps because the description is very accurate this would not be a good rental for you. We recently had guest staying in their 90's for a month and did not have any physical limitations to this property. I have added a dresser to the room and a few other requested items. I appreciate you taking the time to give your perception of the property.
