2Br/2Bath Condo on 2nd Floor with elevator .The condo was purchased new in July 2011 and has had only one owner.

As of May 2014 this unit has only been rented to one tenant on a long term basis and three weekend rentals. The unit features a fully equipped kitchen with a queen bed in each room. An additional air mattress is available upon request. All towels and linens are furnished but please bring your own beach towels.

Proximity to the causeway, easy in and out of the island, yet minutes from all the venues. Isolated from crowds, but join them after a short walk. It has a family-oriented pool with wading area for the children and a playground nearby. Full-size pool with fire pit and two hot tubs. Picnic and outdoor grilling areas. Bar area with outdoor kitchen.

The property was well maintained however, we had to call the police the first day there because there was a woman completely out of control by the pool. After over an hour of screaming and yelling, eventually three police officers arrested her.

Another negative is that you are not able to be in control of the air conditioner in the condo. I personally do not agree with that. You pay to rent the condo you should be able to control the tempature inside of it.

Lastly, after returning home I received a claim from the travelers protection policy I purchased for 2 hand towels. A total of $7 and some change. We did not take any hand towels and left the condo pick up for the most part. I do not understand this claim whatsoever. I would assume even if there were some hand towels misplaced in the condo that the money they made from renting the condo for a full week would cover that $7. If I would have known this going in I would have counted all the towels, etc walking into the rental.

Again,the condo is clean and the entire property is nicely kept. There were just a few things that I did not agree with or like. Overall the rental was average but we will not stay there again.

Owner's Response: We strive to maintain our property in the best condition and are happy that you appreciated the fact that we maintain the condo in top order. The encounter with the disruptive tenant is obviously not a negative against us. As you might understand, we have no control over other tenant’s actions. We are glad that you were satisfied with the response by SPI Police. It is normal procedure to call local police to handle such incidents. We are certain that you understand the policy for controlling the thermostat as this keeps prices low. One reason you and others choose our property is the excellent price point. Prior to adding the control box, our house keeping staff noticed that tenants lowered the A/C to excessively low temperatures, lower than they might at their own homes. The cost for electricity fees would then cause us to raise prices. In some instances, the temperature was set so low as to freeze up the air conditioning unit, which then required us to send maintenance personnel for immediate responses. This also drives prices higher and the cost is not reimbursed to us. We are glad you mentioned this and that you understand the reasoning for this control measure. Previously, we maintained a security deposit from our guests. This deposit was then used against damages and costs like those associated with disappearing towels – such as after your departure. You now pay a non-refundable insurance fee. We then claim against the underwriter. We are disappointed that you were surprised for the claim as it only makes sense, we are certain a reasonable person would understand that we need to recoup losses. You failed to mention that we did not charge the insurance company for the soiled sheets, comforter and mattress liner. Our house keeping crew charged us extra to clean these items as it required them to travel to a commercial facility to clean for the next guest. Please read through our previous tenant’s excellent ratings and reviews, to better understand how fortunate you were to stay at a clean condo with responsive owners. Thank you for noticing and appreciating the cleanliness of our condo and the grounds. We work hard to ensure it is a pleasant environment and that you enjoy your stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the condo. It was extremely clean and had everything we needed.

We would've liked to have control of the thermostat in order to be more comfortable but other than that, it was perfect!

Very nice place and close to the beach

We had a great time the condo was very nice. The location was great short walk to the beach. The fishing was also great very convenient to everything you may need. We look forward to next summer so we can rent the same place. Thank you very much Gabriella and Marco, The Solis Family Vacation......

Our Review

We most definitely enjoyed your unit in South Padre Island. The layout was similar to our home so we immediately settled in. The beds were quite comfortable, our family who visited, commented as such. The open concept was wonderful and the appliances worked well. The times your maintenance men came, they were pleasant, respectful, and very good to explain what the problem was. You were excellent to deal with, listed to my dilemmas and acted promptly. Most of the time the complex was very quiet, except during spring break, and weekends with young children (when you could hear them in the pool and hot tub ) which we totally understood. The only flaw was the unreliability of the hot tub for use, as it was not on, hot or clean, for the majority of our stay. My husband really missed that. Since there is no "go to" person after six o'clock pm and on days off, there was no monitoring of the pool or hot tub. It is not the case that the hot tub is on during pool hours. During our stay we had the opportunity to get to know the island and liked it, and hope to return at some point. Having your apartment certainly contributed to our experience. I hope this is helpful and will benefit other long term renters.

Property was BEAUTIFUL!

The condo itself was BEAUTIFUL and super clean! The owner was amazing and every time I had to contact them, they replied almost immediately!

Unfortunately, the people upstairs were LOUD and not considerate of bedtime or wake up time! It REALLY sounded like a heard of elephants lived up there!

Also, we never found a beach access that was close enough to walk to, which was a little disappointing.

However, for the price we paid for this condo, and the cleanliness and beauty of it, it was worth it! There was also a washer and dryer in the unit which helped out SO MUCH!

Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your place, it is amazing!
