Guestbook comments from the owner

We had 3-1/2 wonderful days here! Days we spent hiking the trails at Mt. Magazine, and nights we gathered around the fireplace playing checkers. We enjoyed an amazing picnic lunch overlooking the blue mountains, and everyone loved making s'mores in the fire pit. Our absolute favorite, though, was sitting on the back porch taking in the sights and sounds and just relaxing.

Thanks for the hospitality! We definitely want to come back!s

Had a great stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and two of our friends went there during thanksgiving. The location of the house is perfect and very close to Mount Magazine and Cove Lake. Anne and Mark treated us with fresh farm eggs, we loved it.

The best feature of the house was the back porch which is furnished. The house is not small and accommodates 5-6 people easily. The minor issue is that it had only one rest room.

Excellent place to chill out and getaway! We sure will visit them again soon :)

excellent, private, beautiful views

Thank you so much for the wonderful stay. Having the basics already there was a tremendous relief. The eggs were so wonderful! We loved being spaced away from other properties and the quiet. We hope we can stay again.

Quiet and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Johnson Farmhouse was prompted by switching plans from tent camping due to rainy weather. My family of 5 was visiting AR for fall break and wanted to experience a bit of the outdoors.

The layout of the house felt spacious to us-- we were not on top of each other at all. We were greeted with fresh flowers and farm fresh eggs which was a real treat. Some of the eggs had double yolks! Another perk was the firewood already set up for toasting marshmallows outback. We also found the house well stocked with incidentals like salt, garbage bags and ziplock baggies. This was a big help bc there is not a big box store nearby.

What is nearby is Mt Magazine State Park. It was super easy to get to the visitors center, the lodge and hiking trails.

So, if you are looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay with very nice owners, give the farmhouse a try!!
