This oceanfront condo is located on the third floor of the Hale Kai O Kihei condominium complex. This complex is located in central Kihei steps from the ocean and walking distance to restaurants, shops, and Times Market (a large grocery store). Listen to the waves crash on the beach from your private lanai. The lanai also faces the sunsets each night! If you are staying in the condo during the Fourth Friday of the month, you are in for a treat because Azeka Mall (a short walk away) hosts a large town party with live music, food vendors, merchants, and beer gardens.
You won't have to venture too far from the condo to discover some great activities on the island. Maalaea Harbor is where whale watching boats, deep sea fishing charters, and snorkeling vessels depart from. The harbor and adjacent aquarium are a short 15 minute drive away. Head further south into Kihei and Wailea and enjoy some great restaurant options, golf courses, and white sand beaches to relax on.
This 915 square foot two-bedroom/two-bathroom condo features air conditioning in the living room and bedroom, cable TV, private lanai, and free WiFi. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, and the second bedroom has twins, making it very easy and comfortable to accommodate groups of four. Both bathrooms have showers.

I have stayed at Hale Kai O'Kihei several times (2x/yr for the last 4 years) because of the spectacular oceanfront view, the beauty of the property, its serene atmosphere (very quiet) and ease to shopping and restaurants. This is the first time I have stayed in this unit. The showers are beautiful, the kitchen has everything you need, including a dishwasher. There is also a washer/dryer in the unit. It could use a little maintenance, i.e. the knobs on the oven are missing (good thing I have long fingernails so we could turn the burners on), the flimsy sliding doors on the w/d and bedrooms could be updated. Overall, it is a nice unit and I would stay in this unit again. The management company staff is friendly, available and quick to right any wrong - our kitchen faucet began leaking uncontrollably - the problem was fixed and the faucet replaced within 2 hours. Amazing! The onsite manager is wonderful. The grounds are beautiful. PLEASE NOTE there are no elevators. I think this should be made clear on the sites where any of these units are listed. There was a couple in their late 70s who arrived to a unit they had reserved on the third floor. They had some difficulty getting their baggage up the stairs and were not aware there were no elevators. If you want oceanfront, grass, palm trees, sandy walking beach, this is the place. I highly recommend Hale Kai O'Kihei
The condo had a great view and well manicured grounds. The first night the air conditioning didn't work and the maintenance tech who arrived was unpleasant and didn't fix it and said we would have to wait. We later fixed the problem ourselves locating a malfunctioning sump pump which shut-off the system. The next occupant will likely have the same issue.
The decor and furniture was dated and very tired. The unit could use a cosmetic facelift and repairs to electrical items (some switches were going out, many bulbs out, fixtures had dead bugs in them). Whomever labeled cabinets and knobs went a little overboard and seemed slightly insulting (i.e. a door knob had a label "pull" stuck to the door knob itself). There were tools and maintenance supplies stuffed in most closets which left limited space to store personal items.
Overall they should simply update the linens, declutter and update decor and finish some of the ad-hoc repairs.
The rental company was very friendly at check-in.
Nice Condo. It really had everything we needed including a fully equipped kitchen with pots pans, utensils, basic supplies (salt, pepper, oil and spices) The furniture and beds were comfortable too. It has a beautiful view of a long strip of beach, palm trees, and a couple of nearby islands. The location was convenient too; there are nearby grocery stores, restaurants, shopping center and even a souvenir market - all within walking distance. The property was clean and fairly well maintained but does need some updating. Some of the stove control knobs were broken, though we made due.(hence 4 stars instead of 5) The exterior was actually better than we expected. We were told well ahead of time that there was construction going on, and there would be no pool access and limited beach access. We took a chance anyway. They had already completed pouring the cement for the patio and it was curing during our stay, so it was no problem at all. We were comfortable our entire 14 day stay. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a good comfortable place to base day trips from. We did day hikes, snorkel trips and shopping excursions to nearby towns. Overall it was a great value. We loved it, and we Love Maui!
