Bay front studio condo on the top (8th) floor directly overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay and only a short walk or drive to the sugar white sandy beaches and emerald green waters on the Gulf of Mexico. Unit is north facing, so it has full 180 degree water views including great sunrises to the east and spectacular sunsets to the west. Unit has a king bed; full size sleeper sofa; table area and chairs; 32' flat screen TV with DVD player; kitchenette with coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, sink, and all dishwares; full bathroom with granite counter and full tiled tub/shower combo. Building features numerous sitting and reading nooks on each floor that overlook with the bay on the north side or the resort and golf courses on the south side; wonderful lobby with fountains; Sunset Bay Room with flat screen TV; lounge area on 8th right next to unit with 50' LCD TV; large pool right next to bldg that also overlooks the bay and has seasonal food and drink service. Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort features long stretches of the white sand beaches and emerald green waters, 4 golf courses, mini golf course, walking and biking trails, lakes for fishing, a full marina (charter fishing available), bike, kayak, and paddle board rentals, multiple pools, tennis courts, and huge array of onsite shopping, dining, and nightlife options. Nearby are also numerous other attractions including water sports, amusements, rare coastal dune lakes (one of only two places in the world to have), lots of restaurants, shopping, and other activities.

Affordable studio with great views

The room was clean and the view of the bay was excellent. The only opportunity for improvement I saw was to explain in the ad that there is no housekeeping and you do not have access to the resort shuttles to the beach.

Not up to its usual standards

Sheets were soiled and apparently had not been changed, we changed them ourselves but only had standard sheets to try to cover a king bed, didn't call anyone because we got in late and we didn't want to be kept up any later. Floor was also dirty used Reeses Cups wrapper got stuck to my shoe from apparently under the sofa...didn't appear housekeeping completed cleaning...towels were clean, bathroom was clean except tub had hair in it. Tub doesn't drain well, above my ankles before completing a shower...the good part is there is plenty of hot water and good water pressure, and a nice view. Bed when made is very comfortable as are the pillows.

Fire alarm when off around 11 pm on Saturday night (we were leaving Sunday morning), had to evacuate bldg, a lot of walking to get off the 8th floor, took about 15 minutes or a little longer to get fire trucks there, turns out it was an electrical short with no real smoke, but with ozone setting off alarms. Didn't get an all clear until near midnight. Did get a chance to see a lot of folks pjs, night gowns, gym shorts, etc. Some managers from Sandestin appeared around 11:40 and provided us info, and offered any assistance we might need. That didn't extend to giving us an extra hour or so to check out the next morning, they actually called at 10:20am to make sure we were ready to check out or we could incur additional expenses....

Only other major issue was pool was closed for one day due to a pump issue, happened to be the only afternoon we had free from the conference (Friday) and part of Thursday and Saturday....

Had a mtg for 3 days at conference center, it was well managed.

Owner's Response: I'm very surprised to read about the housekeeping issues and truly, truly apologize if these issues were present, and I will be speak to the cleaning company immediately. And if this had been reported to me, I would have had the cleaners back over for a complete re clean at a time of the guests convenience. As for the fire alarm, and pool issues, those are controlled by the condominium building and apologize for the inconveniences of those. If I had been contacted and known about it, I would have certainly offered at the least, a late checkout. I am confused about why Sandestin would have contacted my guest about checking out on time or incurring additional costs if not - as Sandestin has nothing to do with the operation nor rental of this unit. This unit is privately owned and rented. Thank you.

Perfect Stay

The location of this condo coupled with access to the entire SanDestin resort was perfect. The sunsets from the patio were gorgeous, the condo was clean and the bed was comfortable. The owner was very prompt in communicating with me regarding any questions or concern I had. I would highly recommend this condo!

Amazing view along with a wonderful location

Family and I stayed for the forth of July week . Condo was amazing . Very clean and the view from the room was outstanding. The location of condo in the San Destin resort was also amazing . Beaches were beautiful and everyone around was extremely nice and helpful. Will definitely book the condo again in the future . Thanks again for for making my family's and I vacation an unforgettable one - Patrick Coleman

Cancellation made 15-30 days prior to arrival date will result in full refund minus $100.00 cancellation fee. Cancellation 8-14 days prior to arrival date, will result in loss of 50% of all rental fees paid. Cancellation less than 7 days prior to arrival date will result in loss of all monies paid. Early departure will not result in refund of any unused night(s). Late check out up to 5 pm on scheduled check out date is available for additional $50.00 fee, if unit is not reserved for another check in on same date. Once deposit is received, renter will be sent confirmation information as well as further information on rental unit. Please note that all units at Bayside at Sandestin are non-smoking and there are no pets allowed in building or units. If evidence of smoking or pet(s) is found, Renter will be charged an additional cleaning fee of $250.00 for deep remediation cleaning.
