Home - home on the range!

VRBO Bear stayed here

Jun 12, 2015

We had a fantastic stay at the Wellington Vineyard estate home. The home is completely lovely and well-appointed and the grounds are gorgeous. This bear family feels this place is PERFECT as both a comfortable, child-safe place for one or more families and also luxurious and beautiful as a wine country getaway for grown-ups. The kitchen is marvelous and there are so many places to eat! A nice dining room table and tables on both the porch and yard on either side of the house. We bears do lots of cooking and really appreciated the nice appliances and kitchen tools. The house offers gorgeous vistas from every room. The living room has wall-to-wall sliders, providing views of the vineyards, mountains, and gardens. We have 3 small bear cubs and shared the home with another bear family. Erika, the manager, provided several high chairs, sleeping cot, pack n plays, and lots of high quality toys for the kiddos. It was the perfect place for a family trip. The heated pool has a safety cover, which gave us peace of mind with our small children. Many hours were spent playing ping pong and bocce ball too! There was a huge pile of beach towels and several emergency kits, a nice plus. Upon our arrival, a nice bottle of wine was waiting for us, made with grapes from the vineyard that the house resides on. There were 8 bikes with helmets available and the house is located off the main road, which makes it feel off the beaten track. It's also located in a perfect spot in Sonoma Co, with many restaurants and wineries nearby. The house was spotless and stocked with high quality bed linens and very comfy beds. We'd love to return with a couple of couples for a weekend away. This house is wonderful!

Great Home in Beautiful Sonoma Valley

  • 5 of 5

I planned a small family reunion at the Wellington Estate house for the first week of November. As it turned out, this happened to be VERY soon after the horrific fires in Sonoma and Napa Valleys. Although fire struck nearby, this beautiful home and vineyards were unscathed. We enjoyed wine tasting during the days while enjoying the home in the evenings. I rent very often on VRBO and have never experienced a home as well stocked with food preparation / cooking ware. Every utensil and glassware imaginable. The home is set up nicely for activities (pool table, ping pong, bikes, etc) and views of mountains so beautiful. Erika was a gracious and pleasant hostess. A nit-noid issue was connectivity; it was a challenge for those of us with AT&T (Verizon was fine). We plan to return to this home.

The most amazing 50th Birthday Celebration

  • 5 of 5

This is the most amazing place to stay. It is literally heaven on earth. Not only is the house immaculate in every way but the view is out of this world. From every side of the house, it has a gorgeous view. The beds and linens are also amazing and waking up to coffee on the porch overlooking the vineyards couldn't have been better. I have to mention how amazing the kitchen is too. It has absolutely everything you would ever need to cook. Although we didn't cook much, we all kinda wished we had. Erika is an incredibly responsive host. There was honestly not much we needed while we were there because everything was so perfect but when we did have a question, she was quick to respond. She also recommended a driver by the name of Ryan that was absolutely amazing. Not only is he polite and professional but he knows the area so well and recommended a vineyard called Patland that was unbelievable! The other big perk is having Wellington Tasting Room right out your back door. This was really amazing wine and with the nicest people you will ever meet. They are also associated with VBJ that was in the town of Kenwood (right up the road) which had equally good wine and amazing food! You have to try it if you go! This couldn't have been a better place for me and my girlfriends to spend our 50th. We are looking forward to returning sometime soon with our husbands as there is PLENTY of room for all of us!

This is the place!

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for my family. Plenty of beds and bathrooms. The beds and pillows were SO comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The location is fantastic! Close to wineries and attractions. The view? Spectacular. The outside spaces were great. From the pool, to the fire pit, to the hot tub, to the bocce court... we used them all, and loved them all. Many different outside sitting areas. One night, we grilled steaks on the ( like new) gas grill, and ate at the table outside under the lights and grape vines. Just perfect. Erika was so helpful and responsive. Her attention to detail in the house was great. She left us a bottle of bubbly in the fridge, and a bottle of Wellington wine to start our vacation off right! Do not hesitate to book this lovely estate home!

Home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Can't say enough about this property! Wonderfully nestled in Wellington Vineyard. Lovely private location with breathtaking view of vineyards and mountains. Mornings were so delightful on the deck with a cup of coffee and the rising sun. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen and utilized the garden right off the kitchen. We dined in most evenings and enjoyed dinner at the dining room table and outside on the patio under the lighted archway adorned with grapes. The men in our group loved playing ping pong and bocce ball while the women enjoyed biking around the vineyard. Evenings ended with relaxation around the fire pit and in the hot tub. Thank you, Erika, for being so prompt with every text and email! And from a hospitality perspective, Erika is very attentive to all the fine details! She was also generous enough to provide tasting passes to VJB & Wellington! We are all so excited to return!
