Los Chonchos is an eco village situated 35 minutes south of Puerto Vallerta in a protected 40 acres of jungle. There are only 20 palapas in this beautiful, untouched area of Mexico. There are three amazing beaches, the smaller one the water taxi lands on, the pebble beach, and the incredible long beach just 3 minutes walk (as shown in the pictures) from the palapa. You are likely to be the only one on the beach! Keep to yourself, or join the other visitors and inhabitants twice a day as the water taxi visits, help the new visitors off the taxi, and share the news of the day - it is entirely up to you!
There are no roads to the eco village - the only way to get there is by water taxi from Bocca. Need more groceries, either hike into Chimo (about an hour) or take the water taxi to Yelapa. Take time in Yelapa to check out the waterfalls and drink a cold beer on the beach - a great day trip to take!

Am I Dreaming
We loved this off the grid location with beautiful beaches and open air living. The sounds of the ocean waves put us to sleep every night. My teenage boys played on the beach everyday and couldn't get enough of the magical fish we saw, while snorkeling there. My wife treated us to having out lunch and dinner catered to us by the local chef, who did a amazing job and he's so friendly! I don't want to say to much more about this amazing place in fear that it will be discovered, but we will be returning for a much longer stay! Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise with us!!!
We are so glad that you found the magic that my wife and I share. It truly is wonderful We would love to have you back for a longer stay at a discount...!!!!
Your own private slice of paradise.
What an amazing place! We weren't exactly sure what we had in store when we booked our stay, but being pretty adventurous people, we went for it. And this place completely surpassed our expectations! This is not the place for those looking for the all inclusive type experience, so if you're not into unplugging and living in the elements, you should probably move on. But if you're not shy about sleeping in a place with no windows and doors, and are ok with feeling like you're the only people for miles around, this place is your place. For us, it was absolutely fantastic! Thanks Chemain and Kevin for letting us stay at you amazing palapa!
Beautiful, remote area, perfect for a retreat. The palapa was very nicely done and comfortable.
Amazing Palapa Experience
I have never written a review before on VRBO and I have been using the agency for the last 5 years while traveling all over the world. What an amazing place! I traveled with my husband and 2 kids and we experienced nature and all its wonders for a total of 3 nights. I was in heaven. Casa Dos Mules and the décor/amenities surpassed my expectations. Thank you for providing the opportunity to return back to the basics with exceptional surroundings. It is an amazing spot to unplug and relax. Highly recommended!!!
We are so pleased that you lover our home as we do. It is an amazing place to relax and unplug.
Very nice place
The day my daughter and I arrived (Feb 23rd) the water was really rough. Even tho I am 74 we both got off the water taxi without incident with the help of the wonderful beach crew. The cabin was much better this time with the new gas refrigerator, new storage batteries for the electricity and the water heater was turned up a bit more, and no signs of any mice this time.
We walked over the mountain to Chimo to the grocery store and Arturo's Restaurant (good food). I think that was my last trip over the mountain tho as I am getting too old for that kind of hike.
Our last day, Feb 27th, we wish we would have gone parasailing but didn't check the water conditions early enough as we were leaving that day.
Thanks for everything, Ken DeKezel
