About Joan Hartnett-Barry

I have lived in Marion for over 30 years and love the town. You will too! This is a NON-SMOKING unit. NO PETS ALLOWED.

Joan Hartnett-Barry purchased this house in 2000

Why Joan Hartnett-Barry chose Marion

This cottage was a horse barn at one time. It has been completely renovated and is a mini home that is very comfortable and inviting.

What makes this house unique

You can walk all over town from this great location. Wonderful neighbors. I live in the house in the rear of the property and can answer questions or make suggestions on what to see and do. (The Cape Cod Canal is a must-see.)

Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

This place was just what we needed to end our 3 week vacation. It was clean, cozy, and just plain adorable.

Joan was very easy to work with and was available by phone when needed.

The loft was a huge hit with my 12 year old. Although we didn't let him sleep up there (that was for parents), he loved to go up and read a book or just hang out.

This place was everything we were hoping for. The town of Marion is adorable and a great jumping off point for Cape Cod.

If we are in the area again, we would love to stay in Joan's rental home a second time.

The unicyclist in the bathroom was just fabulous!

Weekend get away - quiet and out of the Cape Cod tourist areas. Secret little cottage in residential area. Easy walk to beach. Perfect weekend. Thank you Joan - suggestions for restaurants and providing a perfect place for me!

Perfect accommodations

  • 5 of 5

Myself and three high school friends stayed at the cottage for 2 nights/ 3 days to attend a funeral of a good friend. Although the occasion was not ideal and extremely sad, we felt at home and very peaceful at the cottage. We were able to spend quality time together in a "home away from home" reflecting on life, love and the meaning of true friendship. Joan was extremely accommodating; we didn't have to worry about a thing during our stay. The cottage was neat and clean and included everything we needed to make our stay easy. The location was perfect for a quick stroll to town for shopping / lunch and a quiet walk on the beach. We will always remember our time at the cottage and thank Joan for easing our difficult journey.

Great find!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was perfect for our family of four, including an 11-year-old and a 16-year-old. There was plenty of room to spread out, everything was incredibly clean, and the well-stocked kitchen was great for having breakfast before taking off for the day and packing lunches to take with us. It was a very convenient location for day trips to Boston, Concord and Cape Cod, and the village of Marion itself was lovely. We wish we had a few more days to stay!
