Why Joan Hartnett-Barry chose Marion Center

This cottage was a horse barn at one time. It has been completely renovated and is a mini home that is very comfortable and inviting.

What makes this house unique

You can walk all over town from this great location. Wonderful neighbors. I live in the house in the rear of the property and can answer questions or make suggestions on what to see and do. (The Cape Cod Canal is a must-see.)

Perfect size! Just what I needed for a few days

  • 4 of 5

The cottage fits in perfectly with the whole New England water-front village and the owner couldn’t have been more pleasant, easy to reach and accommodating. My only concern was that the interior appeared to need some upkeep. Not in the design or what was provided (as that was more than adequate), rather there was mold in the bathroom and on the soft surfaces like the couch and bed spread. Probably not odd down by the water, but I felt like it could use a quick deep clean and refresh. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and loved the Marion area.

Homey stay in lovely Marion

  • 5 of 5

Marion was our first stay in our visit to the east coast of USA . We did not know what to expect. What we found was a lovely village and very homey little house. Our host Joan could not have been more welcoming and we could not have had a better introduction to this fine part of the world.

Quiet spot in Marion's village

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed in the cottage four times now and love it. Our family has roots in Marion and my sister and I visit for a girls' weekend each spring and fall. Joan is a wonderful hostess and always gives us ideas on places to visit in town. Also, the New Bedford Whaling Museum is a short, easy drive. Hoping to return in the fall.

Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

This place was just what we needed to end our 3 week vacation. It was clean, cozy, and just plain adorable.

Joan was very easy to work with and was available by phone when needed.

The loft was a huge hit with my 12 year old. Although we didn't let him sleep up there (that was for parents), he loved to go up and read a book or just hang out.

This place was everything we were hoping for. The town of Marion is adorable and a great jumping off point for Cape Cod.

If we are in the area again, we would love to stay in Joan's rental home a second time.

p.s.

The unicyclist in the bathroom was just fabulous!
