Our 3 bedroom waterfront home on Denman Island comfortably sleeps 5, but can take 7. Enjoy a private cove with 600 feet of oceanfront and explore the tide pools along sandstone and conglomerate shoreline stretching for miles both north and south.
This 3 bedroom house comfortably fits 5, but can hold up to 7 people. The house itself is situated on low bank oceanfront with a 270 degree view of the east side of Denman Island, across to Hornby Island and the Coast Mountain Range. There is easy access to the beach with a path directly in front of the house, by a wide path to the left of the house and a trail to the right of the property. No matter high or low tide, walk straight off the sandstone ledges into the deep green ocean or walk in from the sheltered cove across the sand and pebbles. Swim 50' to our floating swim raft with a water slide.
All beach and below-tide areas are for public use though few people venture into this area other than local islanders.
Guest will have full house, which includes washer/dryer, full kitchen, shower, bath and fireplace. The kitchen has all major electrical appliances, microwave, coffee maker, crockery and cutlery. A propane barbecue with outdoor table and chairs makes for a pleasant outdoor meal on the deck off the dining and living area.
There is a studio, boathouse, and camping area in the cove yet out of site from the house. These are owner/property facilities and are not rented out to other guests though some of the water amenities are shared (i.e., row boat, dock, etc.).
The islands natural beauty inspire many artists who live and work in this amazing environment. Opportunities to visit, view, and purchase their work are plentiful. Many workshops are also available. Whatever your interests, there is something here for you. There are 2 freshwater lakes on the island, several parks for walking and exploring, canoe and kayak rentals to explore the island by sea, community drop in programs such as soccer, volleyball, and table tennis, and our very own free store and market every saturday morning.
There is no public transport, but it is fairly easy to hitch a ride around the island.
