Waters Edge is for you if the sound of the Broad River running less than 50′ from the deck is your idea of tranquility, or fishing at the waters edge (pun intended) for bass, trout or bream is a way to wind down. This home is waterfront-not lakefront.

This beautiful, well decorated, 2 bedroom, 2 bath reeks relaxation. The kitchen is well stocked to create a fresh fish dinner, just caught, or whip up an old favorite family meal. The wide open floor plan allows family and friends to converse while taking in a big game, playing cards, one of the board games, or a classic movie. Direct TV is provided in the family room and master bedroom. WI-FI is provided for your use. Dining area seats six easily. The second bedroom is DVD only. The wood burning fire place adds rustic charm and cozy warmth during the cooler months. But, if its summer, throw open the sliding doors, hang out on the deck and listen to the river! The deck is plenty big enough for cookouts on the large gas grill. Did you notice the deck dining spot? Comes with a view. Back inside, the master bedroom boasts queen bed and private full bath, shower only. The second bedroom boasts a double bed/twin bed combination bunk. Second full bath, shower only, is just off the hall as is stackable washer/dryer. Spend some time at Waters Edge, get your feet wet, and enjoy all the peacefulness this cabin offers.

Beautiful Place!

This place was beyond my expectations! The property is absolutely beautiful! It was a perfect size for me and my kids. Would have been better if we would have set aside more time to spend just enjoying what the property has to offer instead of running all about doing all of the many things the area has to offer! Great people to deal with also very nice and understanding.

Owner's Response: Thank-you for taking the time to review our cabin. We are glad you were able to take in the many wonderful sights and activities Lake Lure has to offer. However, we understand fully, and we also enjoy just hanging around the cabin, listening to the sound of the river, looking for turkey and deer, or relaxing on the deck. We do hope you return again with your family to our home and relax just a wee bit more.

Stay away!

Worst property I've ever stayed at. Pictures here do not show how run down this place has become. Broken shades, animal damage to outer walls, lack of attention to repair needs. The water is right by a busy road (not viewable in pictures) making it impossible to relax on the over run spider infested porch. Much more than typical in a mountain cabin. I'm used to some bugs and wild animals but we had ants in our beds, cockroaches in the bathroom and kitchen. Yes roaches even though they denied it when I brought it to their attention. Disregarding the traps they already placed in the house prior. It's my belief the owners don't understand what is happening here. They need to go visit. I think the management company is hiding the truth. I bet this review gets "lost". Should have know when I saw zero reviews. Last renters probably wrote a similar review.

Owner's Response: We will fully respond to "Mr Awesome" (Glenn R.) when things settle down. We have been busy working within and with other rental companies finding homes for those displaced by Hurricane Matthew. Our response.... “Mr. Awesome” (Glenn R.) was home 3 days when he decided to notify us of his concerns, also looking for a refund. We cannot address what we don’t know. Mr. Awesome initially complained of pests and paper products supplied. He didn’t read the guest policy pertaining to these items and was told where these were addressed. His reply was he couldn’t wait for our pest control company to schedule a visit. Now we knew he read the policy as he quotes from it. We have gone through the home in response to broken shades, finding loose (we tightened) but not broken. We did find a small deck light plastic lens cracked. I will speak to known concerns. The busy road (not brought up initially) is about a thousand feet from the home, on the other side of the river. Animal damage is due to woodpeckers seeking eggs from carpenter bees. Unfortunately a common problem with log cabins in the woods. A contractor has been slated to address, but we wait for the home to be vacant for work so not to impose on our guests. The “spider infestation” was a web spun around the deck porch light fixture. Mr. Awesome states an ant problem. I replied that if food is left out open on counters or bedrooms, ants will find it anywhere, in any house. Ant traps are in the majority of homes here due to mountain/water locations. We had renters leave the home 3 days before Mr. Awesome stayed and people arrive the day of his departure. NO MENTION of problems he states from either renter. I believe Mr. Awesome was hoping to get a refund by his actions. We hold our management company in high regards as they let us know of issues needing attention. We trust their judgement fully. We have the local pest control company service the home on a regular schedule. You, Mr. Awesome, are the first to review the home and VRBO will publish. Management company solicits reviews from renters, however they cannot make them respond, nor do they make up bogus reviews to our advantage. Lastly, the home is consistently booked, enjoyed by many families for their vacation at Waters Edge here in Lake Lure.

If a confirmed reservation is cancelled 30 days prior to arrival, a cancellation processing fee of $75.00 will be charged against funds received and remaining monies will be refunded. If the cancellation occurs within 30 days prior to arrival, all funds received will be forfeited, unless the property can be re-rented for the cancelled period.

Reservations require an initial 50% of the total nightly rate which is applied toward the entire reservation. Upon receipt of initial reservation deposit, a confirmation will be emailed to the principal party named on the reservation.

Final payments are due no later than 30 days prior to arrival. If a rental period is within 30 days of arrival, full payment is due.
