Cabina de l'Aviador, El Born, your home away from home, is a fully air-conditioned apartment with all the modern comforts of a brand-new building with elevators, 24/7 fully staffed and CCTV plus automated security systems, equipped with trendy furniture, two bathrooms with heated european towel rails, and a spacious kitchen with all amenities including vitro ceramic cooktops, automatic dishwasher, and clothes washer and dryer. (Unlike most rentals in the city, that neglect to mention that they are located on upper floors of buildings without elevators, our property has multiple lifts! :-) ) There is a separate dining area to enjoy shared meals and a living-room with abundant light reflecting from the sunny park across the street.

You will not find a better situated rental in the city of Barcelona than the Cabina de l'Aviador, El Born. Right in the middle of Ciutat Vella or the Old City, at the boundary of El Born and the Gothic Quarter, and Barcelona's beach district - the historic Medieval and old Roman, and Barcelona's beach and old fishing town, respectively, this apartment's location is without peer in the city's rental pool. (It's location makes it IDEAL FOR CRUISE BOOKINGS; namely people leaving or returning on a cruise arriving or departing from the port of Barcelona.) The rest of Barcelona is also well within your reach as, walking out of your building, you will find the metro station literally at your front steps, putting you in next to immediate contact with the city's other bustling neighborhoods. Along the same lines, you are within easy access of, not one, but two bus stops by simply crossing the street or making the turn around the corner, likewise, linking you with the rest of the city, its upscale shopping zones like Paseo de Gracia, Gran Via and Rambla de Cataluña, as well as its famous architectural marvels including - but not limited to - Gaudí's La Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, Park Güell, and the Palace of Catalonian Music. The apartment's location in the Old City is a fascinating area that is steeped in history, the very same spot where kings once reigned. (The central Placa del Rei is the place where King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella welcomed Columbus upon his return on his historic voyage to America.)

Located just off the seafront, only a five minute walk from the El Born and El Gótic in one direction and Barcelona's beach in the opposite direction. (The property is within easy walking distance of the city's and municipality's beaches, which led to Barcelona being crowned the Number One Beach City in the World 2013 - 2014 by National Geographic Magazine.) The surroundings of this apartment are populated by so many top restaurants, tapas bars, pastry and trendy clothes shops that it is next to impossible to keep count! A short stroll takes you to the Port Vell--Barcelona's beautiful old port, lined with eateries and museums, and location of Barcelona's aquarium and the Marenostrum shopping and entertainment complex. A ten minute walk in the other direction will bring you to stunningly glamorous Ciutadella Park. Barcelona’s original urban “green lung”, it is no ordinary park. In 1869, the demolition of its military citadel, established a century earlier by Philip V, led to the highly significant building boom that followed in that area of the city. The Barcelona Zoo has stood on the other side of the park since 1892. It also has big water displays, including an impressively beautiful fountain and waterfall, designed by Fontseré (with perhaps some attributions of the young student Antoni Gaudí), a small lake with rental boats, and lots of grassy spaces to lie down and soak up the warm sunshine. A great spot for relaxation, a walk, a row, or to bring the kids to burn off a little energy (theirs not yours! :-) ). As if this were not enough, the world-renowned Las Ramblas strip and La Boqueria Market, and the very center of the city are a pleasant fifteen minute walk away. You can spend days exploring the narrow streets and squares, with Gothic mansions, museums, historic churches, right next to bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the Spanish and Catalonian cuisine while drinking in the sights along with your cool glass of sangria…

My wife Anne and I had a terrific experience staying at “Cabina De L'Aviador ” in Barcelona in September 2017. We can’t really say enough about how wonderful the apartment is and how gracious and accommodating Miguel and his team on the ground were!

The apartment itself is extremely clean, very well kept and appointed with all the amenities one could want including a well equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher), great shower/baths, efficient internet access, laundry, extremely comfortable bed, and air conditioning. The building itself is very secure with a concierge/security guard in the lobby and a very efficient apartment security system equipped with cameras to view the entrance way. The apartment is readily accessible via elevator.

The apartment is in a perfect location between the Barceloneta Beach area and the El Born district and a short and enjoyable walk to many of Barcelona’s many amazing districts and sites including the El Born, La Rambla and Gothic Districts, Placa de Catalunya, Mercado De La Boqueria, Placa d’Espanya, the Barceloneta and other local beach areas, and the Olympic Village. There are also multiple supermarkets/drugstores (at least six!) within a very short walk, including two that are beside the apartment building.

If walking is not your thing, the Barceloneta Metro stop is immediately in front of the apartment, and there are multiple “TMB” (Barcelona transit/bus system) stops immediately outside the apartment and at the Pla de Palau across the street. There are also two Hop-on Hop-off bus lines with stops virtually across the street from the apartment and Taxis are very easy to hail from the front entrance of the apartment building.

We were able to walk and/or leverage the very efficient transit system or Hop-on Hop-off buses to visit beautiful sites including La Sagrada Familia, the Font Magia de Monjuic, Museu Nacional d’Art, Museu Picasso, Gaudi House Museum, Palau Guell, and the Olympic Stadium.

Miguel also arranged for a walking tour with Milena. She provided an incredibly informative guided tour of key points of the city, informing us of the history and tales of the city that enlightened our perspective and added dimension to our appreciation of Barcelona!

To reiterate my opening... I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience in Barcelona was, largely due to Miguel and his team! I will stay there again in a heartbeat if we are able to return to Barcelona and would highly recommend it to anybody!

Perfect location!

We loved our apartment in the Barceloneta area of Barcelona. Very close to everything, very secure and safe apartment and wonderful space to spread out vs a hotel room. Apartment was clean, nicely decorated and plenty of space for two couples. Milena was awesome to meet us the first day. Would definitely come back!!

Very comfortable.

This condo accommodated 4 of us (2 couples) quite comfortably. Most of all, the location was perfect, sort of equal distance between Barceloneta, Born and the Gothic Quarter. The host was very nice and helpful, and his agent on site (Milena) was incredible. This is a great place to stay for a visit to Barcelona.

Very helpful owner made sure we were met and given info on how to operate everything plus a fantastic free tour of the local neighbourhood and the gothic area of the city from Milena

She also came on our last morning very early and got us a taxi because of the rain. Great place to stay would highly recommend
