Our visit to Seabeck was amazing. Gloria is the ultimate hostess. The apartment is very quaint and private and Gloria has thought of absolutely everything, from coffee beans in the kitchen to charcoal for the BBQ. We were serenaded by the seals each night after a glorious sunset. We will be back for more.........Thank you Gloria!
We recently traveled to from Toronto to Seattle for business and decided to take a few personal days to explore the surrounding area. Seabeck was our choice. This was our first VBRO experience and one of the things that was important for us, was to choose a place where we can have privacy and be in our own context. Gloria's amazing waterfront home gave us this and so much more.
Some of the things I appreciated the most was the ability to BBQ and have a fire-pit right on the ocean's tide with a breathtaking view of the Hood Canal and surrounding mountains. Sleeping with only the ocean tide sound outside was truly a restful and a soothing experience. The unit it self is extremely clean and some items such as a new plasma where recently upgraded in the unit. There is also a fully functional kitchen to complement the overall foody experience.
One evening one of Gloria's family members gave us a marinated trout to BBQ caught in that very spot, what can I say, you definitely can not get it fresher.
Thank you Gloria for creating the experience for us and I highly recommend this VBRO find, truly a pearl out of the ocean!
Everything was great. Every window had different view...Hood Canal-Olympic Mt.s. All the wildlife...Big Blue Herons, Eagles, loons, harbor seal, chipmunks, squirrels, deer, Canada geese...in yard or in water in front of you. Have visited Washinton many times, but have never seen the O mountains so clear, so close & so often! And the cabin was clean & cute...four patios to chose from...fire pit & wine a must for sunsets! Owner, Gloria, delightful & helpful. Location perfect...away from it all...but only 15+/-minutes from a Costco or a Trader Joe's. We'll be back!!! Mary&Karen from San Clemente
My husband and I enjoyed every moment at the Tides! Gloria was there to greet us in the early evening and had everything ready for us! She made sure we were comfortable and gave us a 'tour' of the place as soon as we arrived. The location was perfect and she gave us tips on stores, restaurants and where to find the best seafood!
The pictures online cannot truly capture what we discovered when we drove down the driveway. This beautiful seaside cottage is like a perfectly framed living picture; situated at the bottom of the rising majestic snow-capped Olympic Mountains.
When we walked in, every thoughtful detail was met. Gloria is indeed the perfect hostess that everyone raves about!!!
She surprised me with a family favorite recipe, that she took the time to right down. Just because of a conversation we had shared earlier.
We immensely enjoyed every minute we were here. Even the tap water is so GOOD and refreshing!! Some of the BEST in the nation!!
Thank you so very much Gloria, for opening up and sharing your slice of heaven here in the PNW!!
We leave feeling blessed and rejuvenated!! I hope we have the opportunity again of returning one day!!

We were wanting a weekend getaway on the Hood Canal with our kayaks, for some water fun coupled with R&R. We picked the perfect spot! The cottage is perfect for two - everything clean, lovely, cozy - with comfy furniture and beds, and plenty of spots to sit outdoors and take in the incredible scenery and listen to the call of the loons. Very light and bright with beautiful views out the windows, with ever-changing view of the Olympics that were mesmerizing. We did a 3 hour kayak paddle in calm waters, followed by another kayak trek after dark, under the vastness of the milky way and a shimmering crescent moon. Magical! And spent the time in between reading, cooking up great food from the farmer's market in Port Townsend, eating pizza from the Seabeck Pizzeria (we were glad they had a gluten free choice), and watching videos we rented from the Seabeck General Store. Gloria is a delight, and we couldn't have been more comfortable. Came away feeling peaceful, joyful, rested...... Thanks, Gloria!! We will be be back one of these days!
This property is a easy 30 min. drive from the Seattle/Bremerton ferry. It is a waterfront property looking across Hood Canal to the Olympic mountains to the West. Historic Seabeck is one of the first and largest logging communities in the Puget Sound with it's deep waters of Hood Canal to transport this valuable product of the Northwest. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the area while watching the sunset on the beach front or cast a line for a salmon in the fall months. Once you experience this hideaway you will return again.
