Our National Historic Register Home Provides Ideal Accomodations for Your Stay!

Currently under long-term rental contract, Old Economy House in Ambridge, PA, is ideal for executive/corporate rentals, or simple vacations. Old Economy House is a three bedroom registered historic property, located near Old Economy Village, a six-acre National Historic Landmark. Our self-catering vacation property may be rented, monthly, weekly, or nightly (2-night minimum stay.) It sleeps 6 in top-line beds upstairs, where black out window coverings keep it cool, dark and comfy for sleeping in. An additional two people can share the sleeper sofa portion of the downstairs living room sectional. (BYO linens for single beds and queen sleeper sofa.) Manage your budget by renting only the bedrooms your party will occupy, from $115-$150 per night. Security and damage deposit is $150 and is refundable. Long-term rental is $1,750 per month, $200 cleaning fee and refundable $350 security/damage deposit) and includes all utilities (electric, gas, sewer, water) plus internet, cable, lawn care and full access to washer and dryer facilities.

Our goal is to provide a comfortable, casual, homey location in our recently refurbished home, which is spotless and easy to enjoy. New central heat and air make it very comfortable. Prepare your own meals, kick back and watch TV. We provide Comcast Blast WIFI high speed internet and HBO. Grill out on the covered patio and porch and relax. Bring your own yard games to set up on the grassy lawn in back (croquet and badminton would be fun.) To enjoy all the activities offered by Old Economy Village, visit

We have off-street parking for two vehicles and street parking as well (ticketed fines for obstruction of Monday street sweeping.) The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and a new fridge and microwave oven. The kitchen door leads to a covered porch and patio where a gas grill and outdoor seating are provided for your enjoyment. Back inside, our dining room seats six easily around an oval dining table. Our fully furnished kitchen includes coffee maker, toaster, flatware, dishes and glass ware for eight, as well as cooking utensils and cookware. Iron and ironing board provided too. Our location is handily located only 13 miles from Pittsburgh International Airport, and if you'd like to tour Pittsburgh or attend events or venues there, it isn't too far. We are only 25.7 miles from the Zoo and Aquarium, 16 miles from PNC Park for Pirates games or to see the Steelers play, or to visit the National Aviary. Coming in from OH? We're just 50 miles from Youngstown.

Economy is the name of the town, not a description!

Economic in price, yes, but this isn't the Eco Lodge. We had everything we needed at the house for a weekend retreat for 5 women. Paula answered my many questions prior to going and once there we found everything we needed or wanted easily.

We booked this home on 2 separate occasions while traveling on business.

Very comfortable home in a nice neighborhood. The owner and management are above board and very accommodating. We Highly recommend this home and would not hesitate to book again.

Old Economy Village, established in 1824, is noted as the home of the 19th century Christian communal group, The Harmony Society. Historic reenactments of the lifestyle of the early German settlers, tours of restored properties of the Harmonists and special demonstrations and seasonal festivals and celebrations are part of the attraction here. Old Economy House is well situated to take advantage of all the village offers. Next door to the Visitor Center and Museum, we provide a great home-base from which to explore the area. We are also an ideal location for wedding parties to stay as the picturesque village is in high demand as a wedding venue. Summer day camps for the kids are another draw at this living history site.

Located about 20 miles NW of Pittsburgh and 50 miles SE of Youngstown, OH, the village makes for an easy weekend getaway just a short distance from the city. PIT International Airport is only 13 miles away. Refundable damage deposit $150

Rates determined by the number of bedrooms you occupy, from $115 - $150 per night. Guests will not be sharing the home with others, but will save money by only paying for the rooms they need. Payment via personal check or PayPal. Payment details shared at the time of your inquiry. Cancellations before the 45 day deadline will receive all but their $150 Security/Damage deposit. No refund after the 45 day deadline; management will make every effort to find equitable dates and monies will be applied. Long term rentals are $1,500/month, $200 cleaning fee and $350 refundable security and damage deposit. Both short-term vacationers and long-term corporate/executive rentals are welcome.

Occupy one (1) queen bedroom $115/night; two (2) to three (3) bedrooms $150/night. Refundable security/damage deposit $150. Personal check or credit card at PayPal (2% fee required.) Deposits of 25% to reserve. Balance due 45 days prior to occupancy.; long-term rental is $1,750/mo, $200 cleaning fee and $350 refundable deposit.
