Can't wait to come back!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week here celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We had such a wonderful time and were sad to leave. The unit itself was spotless, bed was comfortable, and ohhh, the deck. From morning coffee to sunset wine, we spent alot of time out there! The sights and sounds of the harbor just cannot be explained in writing. Ocean breezes, gulls crying and the waves lapping at the shore made our experience even more enjoyable. Watching the tides come and go was pretty awesome too! The home is very charming with lots of character. It is located in the heart of the marina within easy driving or walking distance to restaurants, convenience/grocery stores, Rocky Neck and beaches. Many of the restaurants nearby offer gluten free options as well and the Common Crow is a natural food store just five minutes away. The unit is perfect as a home base when traveling the area. We visited Rockport, Manchester by the Sea, and spent two days on Cape Cod. The washer and dryer came in handy and the extra toiletries in the bathroom were appreciated. The owner Meg was great to work with from beginning to end with excellent communication. Ray (marina mgr) was very nice as well. We loved every aspect of our stay and are already planning our return trip. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

We decided to rent this place due to the reviews and the close proximity to my daughter's house. We were not disappointed. My daughter's place is extremely small, so this was a great place for us to be all together over the Christmas holiday. With all the pots, pans, dishes, etc, we were able to cook a nice Christmas dinner along with other meals. The views over the harbor are so relaxing. There's a full sized washer and dryer, so you can keep up on laundry. We had a good snow storm on Christmas day along with some ice issues, but the area (including our walkway and steps) were taken care of early so we did not get stuck, which was a concern of mine. Thank you for providing a place that brought us all together for the holidays and for the pretty wreath you hung on the door - such a nice touch.

Great Apartment

  • 5 of 5

This is a very lovely flat. Spacious, beautifully decorated, well equipped with great bed linens and lots of towels, We loved being right over the water and watching the boats. The small balcony is great for a sunny lunch. It is a working harbour so expect harbour noise, deliveries, boat restoration and a nearby fish packing plant. That didn't spoil our stay, but it is something to be aware of when you book. It is worth noting, if you like peace and quiet, that the apartment is over a functoion room. You may want to check if there are any function bookings. We were treated to several hours of karaoke so loud, the glasses and china rattled in the cupboard. That said, we did really like the flat and the coastline. We did a lovely walk to the lighthouse and had great chowder and lobster in a local bar. Boston is a great city to visit, close enough and easy to drive to. We recommend following the red route around the city if you have never been to Boston before. The Italian quarter and Boston Common are particularly good to visit. The Boston subway is easy to use and has a certain charm. We would definitely recommend the flat and the area.

Vacation views right off our deck...

Had a great stay in Gloucester! Accomodations were clean, comfortable and relaxing. Toughest part of the vacation was which restaurant and red or white? Thanks Meg!

Wonderful...wonderful...wonderful (what more can I say)

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this wonderful home and were sorry to leave. Everything you can possible want is right there at your fingertips. Meg (owner) is so easy to deal with and such a great communicator. She answered all of our questions (before and during) within minutes, and offered additional suggestions for places to see and places to buy lobster (a must!). Once we purchased the lobster, she arranged for an outdoor burner, steamer pot, and propane. It was truly the best lobster we ever ate.

The view is amazing! The best part was waking up in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee on the patio while the sun was rising and the boats began departing. It's all the sights and sounds of a working marina/waterfront.

If you are looking to get away and really enjoy yourself, this is the place.
