Stunning Panoramic Views of Lake Tahoe!!

Bedrooms 5
Space 4,050 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

5 Bedroom, 6 Bath, Perfect for Large Familes, Ideal Location!

Located in beautiful Carnelian Bay along the north shore of Lake Tahoe, this large home is situated high above the lake, providing both spectacular views of the lake and a quiet, relaxing location. This home is now available only for summer rentals, and there are still a couple of weeks left for the 2017 summer season.

The home is 3,850 square feet and sleeps up to 14 guests, with plenty of room for all to spread out and enjoy themselves. Up to 8 adults, with up to 6 kids, is the ideal group. New furnishings throughout the house, including all-new furniture, beds, and two new, large-screen TVs with DirecTV / DVR service.

Outside, a large deck upstairs and a smaller one downstairs were both completely rebuilt in 2015, and a new spa that seats 6 adults was added to the lower deck, overlooking the lake. Between the spa, the sauna, and a new steam shower for two, this is the perfect place for you and your guests to unwind after a day of Lake Tahoe fun.

Virtually every guest tells us that they weren't expecting such great views -- the pictures just don't capture the real experience. Please do check out the video we've put together for some additional perspective. (The video button is on the top left when you're viewing the pictures.)

This home is unique on the north shore rental market due to both its views and its ability to house large groups very comfortably. With 5 bedrooms and 6 baths, each of your guests will feel like they are at home.

About Bryan Cowger

Bryan and Collette Cowger live in Meadow Vista, CA, and are passionate about Lake Tahoe and the experience of being here. We are delighted to share our home with you and will do everything we can to ensure your vacation here is the best it can be!

Why Bryan Cowger chose Carnelian Bay

We think that this Lakeview Retreat may be one of the nicest lake view vacation rental properties on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. The views of the lake simply cannot be properly conveyed via pictures and must be seen in person to fully appreciate. Extensive landscaping in front with a relaxing water feature near the front door to greet you and your guests in the summer. Easy access to local dining and recreation make this one of the best locations to be on the north shore.

What makes this house unique

With all the bedrooms containing an en suite bath, every guest to Lakeview Retreat will be entirely comfortable. There is no 'bad' bedroom here! The large deck is a perfect place to spend any portion of the day, from the sunrise over the Nevadan mountains to the relaxing last light of sunset across the lake as you sip a cocktail in the spa.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The views really are amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful home for vacationing in Tahoe, and due to its size, it can accommodate many families with separate rooms and bathrooms. The views are spectacular! As we got to know the area, many of the homes do not have such open views as this one does. It's a gem!

Beautiful views of Lake Tahoe from a superb home

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week here with four generations of our family ranging from six months to 77 years, and this beautiful home accommodated us perfectly.

The location and amenities available nearby suited us perfectly: hiking, bicycling, kayaking, paddle boarding, miniature and regular golf, concerts and swimming at Tahoe City Commons Beach...

In addition to all the great activities we enjoyed in the Tahoe area, we spent a great deal of time at the house itself because it was so comfortable. Most of our meals were prepared and eaten there on the deck while enjoying that fantastic view. We even had Chef David come and prepare a five star 70th birthday dinner for us. Another great bonus was the built-in gym. We didn't know about it until a few days before our visit, so what a great surprise for those family members (six of the nine) who work out on a regular basis.

The bedrooms couldn't have been designed better for us: The bedroom downstairs with the bunk beds for our three little guys ranging from two to eight years and the family room where they played allowed the adults to enjoy a more peaceful time upstairs on the deck. The quiet room for baby to take his naps, and, oh my, the master bedroom suite with the huge window with the most spectacular view of the lake ever was glorious.

We look forward to another visit, perhaps in the winter, when we can enjoy the suana and the steam shower.

The property was spectacular! Perfect for our vacation.

  • 5 of 5

This home was the perfect setting for our first merged family vacation with family members of many ages. There was the perfect number of bathrooms and bedrooms. The highlight of the home is the view of Lake Tahoe and its surroundings and the location to all exciting things to do in Lake Tahoe. The owner, Bryan and his wife checked in regularly and were awesome to work with. They even left coffee for us! I had a great experience for my very first VRBO use!

Absolutely beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

The house is great for a big family or multiple families. The view is stunning, and the location very convenient to 89, 267, Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista. Short drives to lots of great places. The yard is quite steep so not much outdoor play in the yard, but two big living areas inside give lots of space for comfortable gatherings.

The hosts are extremely gracious, great with communication, and very accommodating. We had a fantastic time.

A wonderful winter vacation for the family!

  • 5 of 5

Our family that vacationed at this private residence at Carnelian Bay included three generations. We have vacationed together yearly and this one was special because some of the grandkids had never experienced snow play before. They were not disappointed because snow was discovered at the side yard as soon as we arrived and the kids had so much fun in it. The location is very close to Northstar, Squaw, Granlibakken, and Tahoe City where they were able to enjoy other snow activities.

The home is very spacious and well maintained. The views of the lake are stunning and we were fortunate to see a full moon rise over the lake one evening. The adults had their own rooms while the kids shared the bunk room. The kitchen, living and family rooms were big enough for all to gather and enjoy each other's company. The kitchen was well stocked with tools that enabled our trained chef to prepare delicious meals for all.

The sun is just starting to make it's ascent over the eastern side of the lake as I write this review. We'll soon be leaving with all the fond memories that we experienced this holiday season and planning for next year will begin when we get back home.

Thank you Collette and Bryan for helping make our family vacation wonderful!
